  • I would be worried about climbing loft ladders too!

I just went out to the shop to buy a few things and get some steps in as I've stayed in more this week because of the heat. It isn't as hot as it has been, but I am sweating now I'm back indoors. I shouldn't complain as I hate the cold weather more now with my underactive thyroid and it probably won't be long before I'm complaining about the cold!

I am having a big glass of sparkling water with lemon.

I am going to use up whatever veggies I have with a packet of those cheap (but tasty) noodles. I saw this thing about a noodle dish that went viral on TikTok and a vegan woman I follow on Instagram did a veganised version. I'm going to see what I have and if I can copy her idea. That will be my brunch today. :)

    Good afternoon,
Glad you were able to get the ball valve sorted out Brambling.
Still very warm and muggy though we've a warning for thunder storms this afternoon. There's a big air event on this weekend and we've managed to catch some of the displays. Hector was not at all impressed by the Red Arrows!
Only managed half of my cheese steak sandwich for dinner so will have the other half for lunch. Dinner is tbc, DS2 is out this evening so I'll see what I fancy/ CBA cooking later.
  • Weird, my brother just texted me and he had a leak in their water tank last night too. The person didn't fix it properly so they are getting someone else back.

Those noodles I made were surprisingly nice. I had two clementines afterwards.

Those type of noodles remind me of sixth form college. I used to make curry noodles with toast when I used to get home.

  • Thankfully a bit cooler today, we’ve even had a bit of rain 😅

Cleaned the bbq (as think it’s had it’s last use this year 🤔), swept and tidied a bit outside, few more bits of ironing and another load put on the line this morning. Went for a swim and then home for lunch of scrambled eggs on toasted bagel with grilled tomato. Fairly easy afternoon but did finish a voluntary admin task once it had got a bit rainy. I’ve prepped packed lunch for tomorrow and put dry washing away but mostly caught up on some programmes.

Chargrilled tuna steak Niçoise salad tonight. Just had a Lidl mini magnum-a like…

Curry noodles and toast sounds like something we would eat after a night out when students to soak up the booze 😁  my under active thyroid doesn't make me cold, I'm not complaining although there are times when I run hot that I wish it did  :#

similar weather here as JKS our storm was early afternoon and didn't last long,  it's still warm I'm looking forward to a cooler week

i tackled some of my tomato glut and made 10 portions of tomato soup and copying Tesco nana magic soup recipe and added a tin of coconut milk in at the end, all have been popped into the freezer as it's not exactly soup weather 😁 🥵 I have enough tomatoes to make a batch tomato sauce to freeze tomorrow (maybe depending on how work goes)

second half of the tin of beans on toast for lunch after soup making.  Pasta salad for dinner with salmon

A bit cooler at last, sun's out but pleasant with it. Looking at the weather map this morning I think newly moved DGD will be in for a shock soon, ten degrees colder where she is now compared to down here, lovely views though from a pic she posted

Bit of an odds & s0ds day, bed change, tidy up a bit, and been put off too long, start on my tax return. Easy enough but just PIA even though all the figures are at my fingertips

Lunch, copy JKS and scrambled eggs on toast
Dinner, going to try and use some of the cold cooked chicken with a curry sauce, only cheapo Essentials 45p sauce and see how it goes, lob a few bendy carrots, last of my runners, frozen sweetcorn in as well and have with nuked RM rice

    Good morning everyone,
Heavy rain overnight but it hasn't lifted the humidity and it doesn't feel much cooler.
Off to physio shortly for my regular battering and then a quiet afternoon. Finally had enough ripe tomatoes to roast a batch which I did while the oven was on yesterday. I'll get those sorted out for the freezer later.
Fridge bits for lunch and JO's gingery, garlicky black bean mince for dinner.
  • It feels slightly cooler today. I was trying to book a chiropodist appointment as I have reflexology next week, but the two places I tried were all booked up, annoyingly. I will have to tidy up my feet myself before then. I usually put lotion on my feet with socks, but I don't feel like doing that in this heat!

I am going to make a sandwich and a smoothie for brunch.

  • Definitely cooler here today, although the house did feel stuffy when I got home. Just a day today, no dramas, a good meeting and some emails and quick win tasks cleared 🙃

Roasted pepper, feta and lentil salad for lunch. Quick, easy and cheap pasta tonight - YS smoked salmon trimmings, end of the green beans and half a tub of garlic and herb cream cheese that 1) I bought my mistake, and 2) needed using 😂 was yummy!

Definitely a cooler day I actually enjoyed waking up with cold arms at dawn 🙂 but still just sleeping under a duvet cover.  It did get a little sticky about 4pm ish when the sun shines in the front of the house but nothing drawing the curtains didn't fix.

I spent the day trying to catch up on over 300 emails and what happened at work whilst I was away, there was also some IT issues 🙄 It made the day go fast and I escaped at 5.15pm still about 100 emails to go through 😕

lunch was LO pasta salad with ham and cheese. Spicy Chicken wings with wedges and salad for dinner although there was a last minute coleslaw failure - no carrots  :'(

I have my MRI scan tomorrow morning at 8.30 at East Surrey hospital but will have to leave early to avoid rush hour especially on the M23 around Gatwick I rather have time for a cuppa and a leisurely search for the scanner unit rather than panicking because I'm late
