Woke to rain, I wasn't expecting that, even worse arriving tonight allegedly
Very stressful time Caron, hope everything settles back to normal PDQ, not nice with poorly pets and not being able to do much except look on & hope

Thanks Brambling, I also have some sad mushrooms in my fridge, so it's snap for sad mushroom omelette lunch, maybe add a couple of cheapo AFd F/fingers
Dinner, trying the Essential breaded fish fillets, not high hopes [pollock] but worth a try. With frozen oven chips on same tray, plus frozen peas

    Good morning everyone,
Thank you for all the good wishes re Frank. Unfortunately he's still pretty poorly and ended up having emergency exploratory surgery in his tummy/bowel last night to rule out any foreign objects or abnormal growths after the pink tinged vomiting started again once the anti-sickness jab wore off. Thankfully all clear. However, there were signs that his digestive system was very sluggish and had been for a while and that, with some of test results from earlier yesterday are possibly indicating Addison's disease or Atypical Addison's disease. Full results for this will take a few days to come through. He's recovering well from the op but will be kept in for another 24/48 hours. Unless there's any change DS1 &DIL-to-be will be able visit him this afternoon.
DS2 has bought the Audi and is on his way back home, expects to get here around 9pm tonight.
Hector was a very good boy overnight and has been for an energetic beach run with my sis and Ari this morning. No Tesco order today, it's booked for tomorrow instead so fridge gravel for lunch and I've chicken thighs defrosting for traybake tonight to use up other bits and bobs of veg.
  • Very good day off today, ran some errands this morning, chilled early afternoon then a few domestic essentials before glass of something and nice dinner.

Strange weather, muggy and drizzly this morning, sun came out mid afternoon, is now chucking it down 🙄

Fishfinger wrap for lunch, chicken Caesar salad tonight.

It's been a sunshine sandwich today, heavy rain this morning and this evening with sunshine in the middle. But it's Friday so I don't care   :D  four days of work next week then I'm off for two weeks

Poor little Frank I've heard of Addisons in humans but not dogs, will it be regular medicine if it is?

Car was service today, well worth the £12 for someone to pick up and deliver back, the garage is the other side of town so saves the hassle of trying to get a 'while you wait' service and it's come back lovely and clean inside and out and ready for a long drive next week.  Quick trip around SM after work, mainly fresh stuff but I managed YS half price smoked salmon to replace the pack I took out of the freezer yesterday and some layered crab and egg which I had for my dinner

Lunch was a slice of quiche from the freezer with salad mainly tomatoes  :D dinner was the crab and egg with some crusty bread and more tomatoes

Bright & sunny morning, never saw or heard the storm that was supposed to arrive and kill us all. A bit muggy overnight, so yet another disturbed night.
Up to water the volunteer place pots first thing, I had expected the forecast torrential rain to do it, bah!

Hope Frank's results are on the positive side, thank heavens he's insured

I've taken a very skinny pork chop out to defrost for tonight, plus I dredged up a very posh & dressed half a lamb leg from last July. That's tomorrow sorted
Lunch, scrambled eggs on use up toast
Dinner, the slimline chop, HM AF chips + salad bits

    Good afternoon everyone,
Frank is much better this morning.  :) The good news is that his Addison's tests were negative, which is also to some extent the bad news as it's back to square one with diagnosis. They are thinking yet be fully resolved food intolerance in background and he got felled by virus. He might get home this evening or tomorrow morning. This could potentially tie in with Hector now joining the "chicken and rice" club as they were together last weekend. As the day progressed yesterday Hector became very off kilter, a bit sick and off his food. Put it down to him missing DS2 but he didn't perk up when he returned and was still very subdued this morning. Could be stress or a virus so he's now on ant-sickness meds etc. Usually we'd give minor tummy issues a day or so to settle but with Frank having being so unwell neither us or the vet want to take any chances. He's seems slightly perkier than he was earlier so fingers crossed it's a something and nothing.
Tesco due later then it's easy dinner of Chicken Kyiv, veg and baked spuds. I've a small lamb shoulder defrosting for tomorrow that I'm going to marinate overnight in yoghurt, garlic, lemon and various herbs and spices.

    Aw, poor dogs.

I had a fab time at the concert last night although I still felt off from the massage. Next time I'm going to make sure I haven't got much to do the next day after I have one. Wembley was a nightmare to get out of by car as my brother picked us up. It took half an hour to get out of the car park!

I had PB on toast and a smoothie for breakfast.

Hopefully your sisters' dog won't be the next to succumb Caronc  and the vet can identify Franks issues

Haircut day for me, I was going to lunch afterwards with my sister but she had been sick overnight so we both decided not a good idea, I talked from a distance when I parked my car there.  I picked up some books in a couple of charity shops for my holiday, can't go away with out books and if they are actual books rather than electronic ones I can swap with my sister.  The hospice shop has moved into the centre of town and have loads of books but they just put them in alphabetical order whereas oxfam divides them by genres and then alphabetical which makes it so much easier 🤔  I stayed away from the large volume of cookery books 😁

Salmon pate and crusty bread for lunch.  I needed to use the last of my fresh lasagna sheets so another JO one pan pasta meal this one sausage and mushrooms 😋

Another sunny start this morning, and less humid which is good
Fresh loaf made overnight and cooling for lunch

Hope both dogs start to improve Caron, what a worry it must be

Hope to pick some runners for today's dinner, no more to follow on yet but maybe if an Indian summer?
Lunch, salad sandwich with the fresh bread
Dinner, I'm another one on lamb today, it’s defrosted now, very posh Hickory sea salt rubbed half leg, brought it last year on offer from Asda, but they overcharged me for it, and then once I complained they fully refunded &  it was free :) , so whatever it tastes like it was worth the money
I think I'll have roasteis with it, plus my runners & fresh carrots, and maybe try out the "new" frozen Brussels

    Good morning everyone,
Mixed news here, thankfully Hector seems to have recovered but unfortunately my sister's pooch has succumbed (they were together on Friday morning before Hector had any symptoms). He's a slightly older rescue with minor digestive issues already so it's fingers crossed he's not too badly hit. However, poor Frank has had a set back having been very sick again and still not had poo since his op. A scan showed his gut is full rubble again so his digestive system hasn't restarted since surgery. They are unsure if it's due to the surgery or what made him so unwell in the first place. He's back to being on a drip and lightly sedated and has been given meds to hopefully get his tummy working and they'll take it from there.  Poor we mite is having an awfully rough time.
Not much planned for today, I have a shoulder of lamb marinating in yoghurt and spices to roast later and I'll make tzatziki to go with it as my cucumber plants are finally producing. :) BLT for lunch with lovely looking bacon DS2 bought from Tebay services farm shop.
