Poor Frank. I hope he gets better.x

I have had a smoothie and a sandwich today, along with some crisps. The football was quite disappointing and flat today, what a shame.

I was watching a YouTuber who was taking a birthday trip to Bath and he had so much nice food while he was there. Now I don't know what I'm craving...

    Dull but mild
Hope all the dogs improve Caron, worrying times. That Tebay services shop is a wonder, in fact, Tebay is the one all should be like.
Wednesday, you mentioned YouTube, I was watching one where when the first public service area opened, on M1 I think, and people drove there just for the food experience.

Lunch, back to earth, salad sarnie
Dinner, given the indifferent weather I've decided to use up the LO lamb in a casserole thing, trying out a frozen casserole veg mix I bought a while back for just such an occasion, normally I have odds & ends of veg around, but not now
Probably add some dumplings to it later, I may go mad & use some of my own fresh rosemary in those

    Good morning everyone,
Unfortunately wee Frank isn't doing very well, his vet has a consultation arranged with a canine gastric specialist this morning. It may just a case of more time but some hard decisions may need to be made.  :'(  DS1 is looking to fly back tomorrow depending on what today's news is. After seeming to have recovered Hector was unwell again yesterday afternoon, off his food but drinking and although a wee bit subdued not hugely unwell. Vet's tomorrow if not improved. Ari seems to be following the same pattern as Hector.
Back physio for me at lunch time so not much planned for the rest of the day.

  • Farway - I started watching a lot of YouTube during lockdown, but the habit stuck. It really is a time suck, though.

Caronc - oh no, how sad. I got the impression the dogs are quite young too?

Just toast for me for breakfast. I might have a Quorn pasty for lunch along with some steamed veggies.

Sorry Frank is still struggling, heartbreaking when they are so young

Farway I caught some of a program about a Cotwold services recently which was owned by the same family who owned Tebay and it's not like any services I've been to, definitely not pease pottage 😁 I believe they also own one in Scotland but didn't catch where

The YouTube black hole 😁 I got blamed for leading a elderly friend astray by showing her how to use YouTube it seems Jack Jones needs to be listened to with a large glass of wine and it was the reason she brought a tablet so it was easier to watch in bed!! Now she's stopped drinking she has had to stop looking at it  :# again my fault 🙄

Cheese and ham salad with coleslaw for lunch.  A friend popped round 'quickly' after work and when she left two hours later I realised I hadn't taken anything out of the freezer for dinner so a repeat of yesterday's fried egg on toast this time with marmite on the toast 😋

Oh dear, not sounding good for the dogs, seems as if they all have same whatever it is spreading amongst them. Let's hope vet is on to it in time

Agree, YouTube is a time thief, but there is some good, sort of, stuff on there. Not checked it out yet, but Gideon's Way popped up to tempt me. I even get distracted with Webcams, currently checking the Isle of Wight because DS + family have gone over to watch the jousting at Carisbrooke Castle. Looks dull but dry, same as here
At least YT adverts are short & mostly skippable after the first few seconds

Back to CFO, lunch, scrambled eggs on toast is all I can think of
Dinner, another of the skinny pork chops, grilled, with salad and maybe use up spuds, mashed
It's Asda delivery tomorrow, so clearing out the fridge dregs ready for fresh items

    Good morning everyone,
Yes they're all quite young Wednesday - Frank is 7 months, Hector 16 months and Ari around 6 years old.
Thank you so much for all the good wishes, I very much appreciate them. It's been a very stressful few days. Frank was transferred to the specialist vet yesterday afternoon for emergency surgery for a rare bowel condition.
He's had a thing called an intussusception where the intestine folds in on itself. Most commonly seen in young, male mammals and is fatal if not treated. It can be caused by cancer but more often triggered by an infection or allergy. They've done biopsies but don't think a tumour is the cause. He's had a good night though needed more anti sickness meds in the early hours. All his checks are good and DIL-to-be can see him for a bit this afternoon. He's partially sedated so very calm and sleepy. They'll keep him this way for another day or so and then gradually wean him off some of the meds and try and restart his digestive process. If all goes well he should make a full recovery however they are running lots of tests to try and see if he does have a food intolerance to try and reduce the risk of it happening again. Hector and Ari both seem pretty much on the mend, H is still not hugely hungry and quite tired but had a small but normal poo this morning.  :) We are going to keep the Hector and Ari apart until at least next week to try and make sure they aren't passing anything back and forward.
Physio was rough yesterday and I'm feeling it today so not a huge amount planned. My sis and nephew are coming for dinner and DS1 and DIL-to-be may join us assuming Frank is okay and DS1's flight back isn't delayed.
LO curry for lunch, the recipe was very good though needed more spice. Nothing a tsp of tabasco didn't rescue at the end. Definitely a make again. Easy one tonight - bratwurst sausage and onion sandwiches, gravy to dip, HM wedges and salad. I cooked the onions in the slow cooker yesterday.
  • Oh, that is good news that that they have found the issue with Frank so hopefully that will be resolved. Poor little boy.

I have the carpet cleaner today at 3.30. I will try to remember to take a before and after pic. We had to clear the furniture out of the room and we have been sleeping in the smaller bedroom. My sleep has improved so much that we are going to stay in there and make the other room into a living room. My Fitbit said my sleep was "excellent" last night and I didn't even realise you could get that rating and I've had it almost a year now!

I had a very healthy breakfast of bread and crisps! I need to see what needs using up from the fridge and freezer before the shopping is delivered tomorrow. Ocado gave me a £15 off voucher. :)

  • Back to CFO last night after having a visitor for a couple of nights/days. It was broccoli and pesto pasta with a salmon fillet last night.

Back to work with a bump today, only 2 days off but lots to catch up on. Was out this morning but home for lunch of posh fishfinger wrap. Still using stuff up so sausages, sweet potato wedges and salad tonight. The very last of the blinking sweet potatoes have been wedged, blanched and frozen 🙃
