Sunny start but clouded over now, warm thoughWoke up middle of the night & failed to drop off again, so a bit weary today. Because I was up early toddled off to Morries, odds & ends and some daffodil bulbs, big hit was six MFO YS, £1.12, down from nearly £4, frozen all bar two for tonight & tomorrowOh, and some jam doughnutsLunch was eggs on toastDinner, one of the YS MFO, roast chicken dinner, the works, obviously won't be world's best but at £1.12 I can manageEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Ooft, another long and challenging day. Didn’t make it home for lunch so bought a sainsburys sarnie and ate it at my desk while doing emails and answering random queries in between meetings 🙄. Late home and needed to do some actual work so a late dinner of prawn and veg egg fried rice.
Tomorrow can only get better, surely…0 -
DS2 will be down near me Caronc his he flying?A day of meetings both of which really overrun 🥱 and annoyingly someone handed over a 'issue' which turned out as a PICNIC error (problem in chair not in computer) and they could have found that if they had bothered to check, my manager decided he had better reply as I was not happy 😁

Dull, with bit of a breeze, which is supposed to be mild but feels chilly to meBig surprise in my email this morning, unasked for £5 off e-voucher from Asda,"We understand that your recent order with Asda was below standard, with us failing to deliver all the items that you were expecting or delivering your order late."I never complained or anything, just sent items subbed back with the driver, it is things like this that keep me going with Asda, they may not be perfect but seems generally fair to me. My next delivery will taste even betterLong drive ahead for DS2 Caron, still he's young enough to do it, some of the busiest roads to travel on though, when I was doing similar, up to Glasgow area, years ago it always made me droop once I reached Birmingham knowing I had the same distance to do again before it was overLunch, last of the cold ex Christmas turkey with spot of salad bitsDinner, YS MFO cottage pie, with whatever frozen veg I can rustle up

The couple we bought the house from were moving to Crawley. My aunt and uncle used to live there.
I have been feeling like I am getting a migraine the past few days and I think it is from wearing sunglasses as the weather has got better. I find it difficult to get sunglasses to fit properly and they were pressing against my eye. I have booked an Indian Head Massage for today as I definitely don't want to feel unwell for the concert tomorrow.
I tried to have toast for breakfast, but the bread had been in the freezer and I couldn't break off some slices! I am having veggie sausage rolls instead. They are in the air fryer.

Good morning everyone,
Yes it's a long way, he's driving rather than flying as he's trading his current car in against the new one. DS2 likes driving and doesn't mind long ones thankfully.
I'm feeling rather stressed, poor wee Frank (DS1 and DIL-to-be's pooch) was rushed to vets yesterday evening very poorly, vomiting and very lethargic after becoming very unwell over a couple of hours. He's been having intermittent gastric issues which after lots of tests appeared to be a dietary intolerance so he's been on a very restricted diet and things had improved. They were able to quickly rule out common poisons, gut torsion etc. but his white blood cell count was elevated, he was dehydrated and had a slight temperature. They kept him overnight to administer fluids and antibiotics and run more tests. He's responded well to this and had some chicken without any adverse effects in the early hours. Bloodwork back first thing has ruled out common infections/parasites and they suspect it may be an auto immune condition so more tests today and he may or may not get home this evening. Thank goodness for pet insurance.
Added into this DS2 has not long left to drive to Crawley to pick up his new car tomorrow morning and DS1 & DIL-to-be are due to fly to Athens on Saturday. We are supposed to be looking after Frank while they are away and DS2 was going to detour via Glasgow to pick him up tomorrow evening on his way back. Think me and Hector are just going to have a quiet day. DS2 took him for a long walk and run about first thing so he'll be fine without a second walk later, we'll have half an hour of ball flinging/chasing this evening. It will be the first time I've had Hector on my own overnight so I'm hoping he settles okay.
Salady bits for lunch. LO meatballs and pasta will form the basis of dinner.0 -
Poor thing. My cat was ill like that a while back and after tests she has to be on Hills digestive dry cat food for the rest of her life now. She got so skinny for a while, but she has gained a little weight since we changed her diet. She is still very small, but hopefully now she will be okay.
We are going away in October so I had to book my dog and cats in at the kennel and cattery. The cats are costing us £180, which seems like a lot, but it is for a few days.
I meant to say I booked the carpet cleaner on Checkatrade for next week. £75 and it should only take about an hour to do. I hope it is as good as the oven cleaning was!2025 GOALS

That’s me done with work until Tuesday 🙌
Another crazy day so was glad of my sweet potato and blue cheese couscous, ate it at my desk in a very short break between meetings, whilst answering urgent emails. Tuna steak tonight and due to late finish I picked up a YS olive bread roll and a bag of Caesar salad to have with it. There was also wine 😉0 -
Poor Frank I hope he's feeling a little better
I think down here it was about £25 a day per cat for chattery and that was pre covid so not sure what it is now luckily my nephew or sister comes in a feeds his lordship, he loves my nephew so is happy 😁 I've been lucky that going away usually only cost me a small gift like biscuits
work wasn't too bad today and i don't believe that it's Friday tomorrow 🙂 just as well as I woke at 4am and had difficulties going back to sleep not helped by loud tinnitus
I found some sad mushrooms in the fridge so mushroom omelette for lunch with some LO new potatoes chipped. JOs smoke salmon pasta from his One Pan book I forgot how much I like it 😋 no spinach so I chopped some tenderstem broccoli and steamed some asparagus. I had to replace my zester and the new one made me realised how blunt my old one was as I nearly took the pith off with a couple of grates, little things can make me happy like a new kitchen gadget 😁

I had my first Thai massage yesterday and I am feeling very sore! I got into bed at 5.30 pm after I got home and only just got up. I haven't ever had such an intense deep tissue massage. It did at least get rid of the migraine feeling.
I haven't eaten since yesterday as I felt sick but I read that is a common side effect. I think I will have some honeydew melon and more water as hydrating your body is meant to help.2025 GOALS
