Sunny start but cool, at least my tomatoes are still ripening despite the weather, and the runners are giving enough for meals now, glad I decided to sow some this year, I nearly didn't with them being so manky last year, it was only the Great Veg Shortage earlier this year that spurred me on

Lunch, use up time, over ripe banana sandwich, shades of childhood
Dinner, freezer sort out, harry R's massive cod fillet, with frozen oven chips because the oven will be on anyway
With HG fresh runners & frozen peas

I have lots of "mushrooms" popped up, very tempting, but maybe not wise. DGD thinks they could also be Yellow Stainers. I'll look but not sample

    Good afternoon everyone,
I'm at episode 5 too JKS, thoroughly enjoying it. I've just started re-reading Ritual, I read the first two fairly recently so thought I'd work my way back through the series and have also borrowed "Pig Island". Lots of gory reading for me over the next few weeks!
I've been to physio and I've jarred my sacroiliac joint quite badly and the muscle are has swollen trapping nerves which is why it's so painful. I've been zapped, prodded and pulled and fingers crossed it will settle, I've to give it 48 hours and call him if it doesn't but I've to expect it to be very bruised and tender. While sore, it's night and day to the pain I had beforehand. No idea what I did, he thinks probably a mis step or awkward sit down. I'm banned from hoovering, stretching etc. until it properly settles down so there's always a silver lining lol but I've to potter about as much as I can. I'm so glad I already had an appointment today, if not it would have a call to the GP for some heavy duty painkillers I think.
Pooch sitting today, Ari and Hector have so far been very chilled, I think they know I'm not at my best!
LO steak in a bagel with salad for lunch. Tonight I'm trying this salmon and lentil recipe Mustard glazed salmon with lentils | Healthy Recipe | WW UK (weightwatchers.com) . We'll have it with some HM roasted sweet potato wedges.
  • Finished Wolf now, think I enjoyed it, it was certainly different but some great characters and twists.

Long day today, was in the office but did a bit when I got home as it was chaos in there today 🙄

Mixed grains, cayenne roasted sweet potato, blue cheese and pomegranate seeds for lunch. Made Nigella’s pancetta and pea orzo risotto tonight but used bacon from the freezer and much less orzo than the recipe suggested. Also didn’t add butter at the end, just Parmesan. Served with homegrown salad leaves and a few cherry tomatoes.

I think I will carry on with Wolf 🙂 the books are worth reading too JKS I did keep the ones I have back from my recent book cull to reread before passing on

Ouch re the back Caronc it sounds very painful  <3

It's been a lovely sunny day, just a shame I had to work 😁 I did sit in the garden with my book lunchtime and falafels in a pita with salad.  Chicken wings in BBQ sauce for dinner with corn on the cob, LO coleslaw, wedges and tomato salad

    That sounds awful Caronc.

I had veggie sausages in a bagel last night for dinner. I need to buy ketchup.

I'm having water and a cup of hot chocolate as I remembered it is supposed to be used up this month. I will have a sandwich when I get back from dropping off the donation bag to the charity shop.

I have been feeling so sluggish lately as I haven't been getting my steps in as the weather has been rubbish and I have been sitting around watching TV too much! I used my pedal machine while I was watching the football and I manged to get in a lot of steps around the house and outside. I need to start being more active every day.

I wanted to make a curry today. I will probably have it with chickpeas, lentils, potatoes, coconut milk and veggies. I need to buy onions too!

Dull & cool, I would not be surprised if it rained, in fact it probably will later because I'm off out to lunch at a Garden C with DS & family
There's a Farm Shop there as well, maybe some nice cheese & local FR meat, but I've been disappointed before there with short BB dates, like tomorrow, so have to wait & see. Fingers crossed for Brighton Blue cheese? It can get blooming expensive once started though
I have to remember it's Asda delivery tomorrow, so mustn't get carried away

Lunch, whatever is at the GC café, maybe hot meal, or baguette or cake. Whatever it is will suit me
Dinner, depending on GC café lunch, could be beans on toast or maybe a frozen nuked ready meal

I dropped off the donation bag, walked around the park and then popped to Coop. They were having a sale in the charity shop and I did want a TV unit, but I didn't see anything I wanted. I got garlic, onions and fresh ginger from Coop for the curry. I bought a curry paste to be lazy, although I do have curry powder at home. I did get in 5,000 steps too. I'm sure I did read that Martin Lewis said to get in his steps he makes sure he does a good chunk of them early in the day.

I feel hungry now. I'm going to have a vegan cheese, lettuce and tomato sandwich with mustard and some red grapes and a kiwi fruit as it is nearly lunchtime.

    Good afternoon everyone,
As expected I'm very tender and bruised today. The area feels very fragile so I'm proceeding with caution! Still pooch sitting but the boys are being very (worryingly?) well behaved.
Not much planned apart from trying to avoid sitting for any length of time so while there's admin needing done it's not urgent so will be left for a few days.
My sis is here for dinner tonight, I slow cooked a gammon joint yesterday which I'll reheat with pineapple. We'll have new potatoes, corn cobettes and salad with it so minimal prep. Salady bits for lunch with the last bagel thin.
  • I think it feels quite cold today, very overcast and a couple of showers.

Really busy but productive wfh day, which was long overdue. Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. I’m off to a voluntary meeting this evening so just about to have LO bacon and pea orzo with salad leaves and cherry tomatoes.

Caronc Puppies and kittens and like small children when they are quiet they are usually sleeping or up to mischief 😁

I hope you found your Brighton Blue Farway unfortunately my dealer in the farmers market seems to have stopped coming 😕 he would regularly have 6 or 7 sussex cheeses and his chilli jam and wild garlic pesto were the best

I had a long awaited (5 months) ENT appointment this morning which confirmed that I'm deafer than I was three and a half years ago this time both ears not just the left, so hearing aids which he said may help with the tinnitus when I'm wearing them and he's sending me for a MRI scan as well.  I've some exercises to do Cawthorn Cookseys exercises which should help with the wonky donkey I seemed to have borrowed from Caronc which TBH is a lot better than it was 6 weeks ago when I staggered like I had put gin in my cereals  :# it's now restricted to the occasional cat feeding and gardening, he tells me I'm not going deaf but it's inner ear hearing loss! Not sure what the difference is?

Jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw for lunch. Late finish due to a system issue so a quick dinner of garlic prawns and pasta
