What a lovely day *rolls eyes* it is pouring with rain. I'm not going out at all today.

I ordered some stress balls/hand exercisers from Amazon to hopefully help with my osteoarthritis and they are arriving later. My thumbs have started throbbing the past few days so that might help.

I finished watching the second half of The Lincoln Lawyer yesterday and I then I started a film, but was too tired. I actually had a good sleep last night, over 9 hours.

I am having toasted crumpets and marmalade for breakfast. Someone I know mentioned she wanted to move to Tiptree the other day and it reminded me of the jam they make there so I bought some Tiptree marmalade.

I have to do some laundry and will obviously be hanging it up indoors today!

    Good morning everyone,
DS2 has been watching The Lincoln Lawyer.
We are hoping to just miss the storm, I hope it's not too severe for anyone in it's path.
DS1 and DIL2B are heading down later with Frank then we are all heading to my sister's for dinner. My nephew is working but there will be 5 adults, 3 dogs and an elderly puss in her far from huge flat. Will no doubt be chaos but fun. (Just like most of our gatherings lol!)
DS2 managed to get the outside painting finished yesterday  :) , he's hoping to get the repointing done today and then he's off the week after next get the deck stained and the roof on. We just need the weather to cooperate.
The soup I made from the casserole LOs was really tasty but of course there were then LO LOs! I used some as the basis for pasta sauce last night and will have some more soup for lunch. The rest I'll freeze.
  • No actual storm here but has rained all day. I mostly pottered around this morning and watched Saturday Kitchen. Ventured out to swim and do a Lidl shop this afternoon.

Bit more using up for lunch - made a mushroom frittata with new potatoes in, served with baked beans because it’s cold today!

Out to the cinema and for dinner this evening 😋

We seem to have missed the storm as well other than a rumble of thunder late afternoon and day until about 5pm.  As I didn't need to go out I didn't 😁 caught up on the housework and the first episode of Wolf, the jury is still out on it but I'll watch the second to see.I did read the books a 2 or 3 years ago so occasional bits ring bells.  I have problems with the guy playing 'inspector' Honey wasn't he the Master in Doctor Who?

A CBA cooking day, lunch was a pita pizza using a soft pita pocket opened out with tomato ketchup, veggies and cheese, closed and popped in the AF 😋.  LOs for dinner

Big change in this morning's weather, blue sky & sunshine. It really tipped down mots of yesterday, so it's soggy outside at the moment
Despite all that, I noticed my figs are ripening, maybe by next weekend? They were still green last weekend, so a lot changes in seven days
While inspecting the figs, I noticed a nice dinner sized portion of Runners are ready :) , I'll pick them later for tonight

Made overnight loaf, fresh bread sarnie for lunch. Salad type, I think
Dinner, last of the roast pork, with my HG runners, shop carrots plus some frozen veg depending on what I spot. I'm going to use up some of my Christmas stockpile of Aunty B's frozen roasties, the proper spuds I have are the Essentials unnamed ones and this lot are good for nothing so far :'(

It is much nicer here too as it was pouring almost all day yesterday. It still feels a bit chilly. I had my blanket on my lap on the sofa last night which is ridiculous in August!

I'm going to do some laundry and hang it outside. I'm going to have a hot bath first and then catch up on the people I follow on YouTube.

I'm going to have a bagel and coffee for breakfast. I felt really jittery after a cup of coffee the other day so I will make it weaker this time.

    Good morning everyone,

Dry and sunny here too.  :)
I had a lovely night at my sister's, she had cooked her socks off roast lamb, garlic & parmesan mash and various veg followed by Spanish style rice pudding with rhubarb and pistachio shortbread. It was all delicious. Less good is I've put my back out so creaking and groaning this morning. I'm okay when I'm up and okay when I'm down but the bit in between is extremely painful. I'm plastered with Voltarol and very glad I have my physio appointment already booked for tomorrow. Despite the ideal weather there will be no gardening done today!
Steak dinner tonight and fridge bits for lunch.
  • Yep, dry and sunny here as well. Forecast was for showers after lunch but so far just a short shower late afternoon. I got a load of towels line dried but didn’t risk doing the bedding (bed has been changed as I have two sets). I’ve also done the bit of ironing, bit of deadheading and weeding in the garden, some admin, been swimming and had a walk to the farm shop for eggs.

Filled pasta, tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes for lunch. Still on use up so spinach and feta galette using puff pastry from the freezer, frozen spinach and (nearly) the end of a block of feta tonight, served with sort of French carrot salad and the end of a little gem. Roasted some sweet potatoes for packed lunch salads while the oven was on 🙃

Just watching episode 5 of Wolf, Brambling…very odd but compelling - had to find out what on earth it was all about!

Sounds like we had the same weather JKS our shower was about 6ish 🙂 another lazy day for me 😁 I dithered over a SM shop but have enough fresh for now if I don't mine going without bananas

LO spicy pork mince in a pita with a sprinkle of grated cheese and toasted in the air fryer.  Rump steak with jacket potato, salad and HM coleslaw for dinner. Steak was a Waitrose one brought when on offer and froze 😋

I had to get up early for another Amazon delivery! I am about to make some toast and tea and watch the football.
