Supposed to rain later but according to the weather radar it is further south & East, near Brambling in factThe only task for the day is change bedding, otherwise it's a lazy day. I've stared watching House, so far so good. Not seen it before, so new stories to me, not sure whether I'll be able to stick to all the series though, I can see it becoming repetitive, clever Dr with three diversity hire assistants solves mystery illness type of stuffLunch, last of the mini pork pies with salady bitsDinner, with the dull & cool weather I'm going to make a LO chicken, LO bacon, potato, onion & mushroom casserole thing, maybe with dumplingsShould give me LOs for a few days as wellEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
My sis got the oven professionally cleaned when she bought her flat as it was absolutely filthy, that was early 2020 and she paid £75 including some bulbs and screws. It looked like new afterwards.
Dull and wet here, I've had to put a lamp on! It's supposed to dry up a bit this afternoon.
I'm not sure what lurgy I've had but it's definitely sapped my energy reserves so another day of gentle pottering on the cards. That said I am feeling better and much less gungy just tiring very easily.
I need to sort out my shoe shelves, they're a jumble and I have far too many pairs and only wear about four of them. Time for a cull as I definitely no longer have a need for hiking boots and can't wear anything with even the suggestion of a heel anymore! If I can find some oomph I'll make a start today.
Bacon, egg and tomato on toast planned for lunch and tonight it's Tuscan pork steaks using a tub of sauce that was LO from making Tuscan chicken a few weeks ago.0 -
I looked online and the oven cleaning starts at £50. I will call someone tomorrow.
I have had toast and a cherry flavoured gelato ice cream cone.
I bought some Barilla pasta sauce so I am going to batch cook a whole bag of pasta for lunches for today and over the next few days. I have onions, cherry tomatoes and lentils to go into the sauce.
It feels to me like we should be heading into September next week, not August.0 -

A pottering morning then after lunch I went around to my sister to help corral the little one 😁 we had planned to take her for a walk but the weather stopped that so we had tea and cake although the little one having turned down her own cake stood next to me like a little bird with open mouth saying more and her variation of my namemy waist line appreciates it 🤨 she did then have a two hour nap 😴 which the cat my sister is cat sitting appreciated!
I used the last of my FS bacon and had a BTL for lunch, i fried some tomatoes with the bacon so not a traditional one. Brain fart this morning so I took two items from the freezer for dinner 🙄 so decided to have salmon tonight and made salmon piccata with rice, asparagus, French beans and tenderstem broccoli. There are LOs as I had frozen the two pieces of salmon together so I'll have to rejig my menu planLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Good morning everyone,
And still it rains.....
Voluntary admin bits to do this morning and this afternoon I'm going to make a ragu for spag bol tomorrow. I always think it's better made at least the day before. Prepped the veg base yesterday so won't take long to put together. DS2 brought back various paella seasoning sachets from Marbella so cooking a Valencian style version with chicken and green beans tonight, helpfully the instructions are in both Spanish and English on the back of the packet.Salady bits for lunch.

The pasta I had yesterday was delicious! I have loads left.
It was pouring yesterday and we need to have our gutters checked as water was pouring down one side of our house! Annoying.
I sent a message to an oven cleaning service on Checkatrade just now.
I think I will have crumpets for breakfast. I forgot to buy more PB so it will just be butter.2025 GOALS

I had a bowl of leftover pasta as I fancied it. The oven cleaning is booked for Thurs afternoon. He said if it is very dirty it can take a couple of hours to do!
I just went out to get cash out. It is a bit muggy but grey outside. Horrible2025 GOALS

The weekend seems to have flown by I think it does when you do when the weather is horrid and you do very little!
Typical Monday work wise and another wet day, I watched the little girl next door on her trampoline with a friend bouncing in the rain this afternoon, I'm assuming her mum had reached her limits 😁
Lunch was pear, walnut and blue cheese salad followed by a really sweet white nectarine 😋 LO salmon and veggies for dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
I had a really bad sleep, "poor" according to Fitbit. I just got up early anyway as the man from the council is coming round and I'm having a bedside lamp delivered as my other one broke last week.
I haven't had anything yet, but I think I will have crumpets and a cup of coffee to try and wake me up.
I meant to say the quote for the oven was £55 so not too bad.2025 GOALS
