Good morning everyone,
I was going to suggest pilchard fish cakes or topped with cheesy mash. They make a nice pate too blitzed with cream cheese and a little paprika if desired. The tom sauce mixed with the cream cheese gives a nice tangy taste a wee bit like Marie Rose sauce.
I've just done a COVID test as I woke up today with sore, swollen eyes and the sniffles and apparently sore eyes are common with the latest variant. It was negative thankfully so hopefully just a passing lurgy or allergies.
Pooch sitting today and tomorrow, Ari this time. He's 6ish and fairly calm so it won't be as full on. Ari likes to play in short bursts so him and Hector will have a mad spell and then curl up together and snooze for a good bit before the next bout.
LO lamb with salad in the last bagel thin for lunch. JOs salmon in a bag with green veg and sweet potatoes for dinner.0 -
It is pouring with rain again. I managed to go out to the shop and post a letter and miss a brief respite from it.
I had a smoothie and toast with Marmite.
I was looking through the freezer and seeing what veggies i had and fancied something healthy after feeling ill so I made colcannon. It was quite nice, but I put leeks in it and I don't think I normally do that.

Bit grey and damp when I left the house, rained quite a lot during the morning, dried up in the afternoon and turned into a sunny evening, it does feel a bit autumnal, though 🙊
Yummy cheese and hard boiled egg salad for lunch with new potatoes and some of my home grown salad leaves along with the usual salad bits, made mango mayo with the end of the mango chutney sauce from the Indian buffet last week 😋
Bacon, sweetcorn and pesto pasta tonight with broccoli for added greenery. There are LOs…0 -
I hope you are feeling better Caronc
it was quiet at work for a Monday, it's strange how when a certain colleague is on holiday it works out that way 🤔 even if it brings the team down to just the manager and I 🤨 the way we are going they are never going to replace the two people we are down
I made a crustless vegetable quiche when the oven was on yesterday and tried a recipe where they used grated potatoes for a crust substitute and partially cooked before adding the filling, I won't bother again ! I had a slice with salad for lunch and then repeated for dinner as I didn't fancy the chicken LOs. There are still quiche LOsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

I woke up and my house still smells like leeks from cooking yesterday! I have the windows open to air it out a bit. It still feels a bit chilly to me.
I am going to have a smoothie for breakfast as I froze some fruit from the fruit bowl last night.
I am going to have a sandwich with a salad for lunch.2025 GOALS

Sun trying hard to stay out, like Brambling it's a bit chilly compared to last weekHope you're feeling a bit better Caron, I've had itchy eyes etc and put it down to hay fever, mainly because pollen count was high, but I could be wrong of courseHoping to have a bit of a potter in the garden later, just tying up tomatoes while it's dry. I have another one ripening, so hopefully I can soon reduce buying them for a few weeksLunch, probably grilled LO tinned pilchards on toastDinner, dunno, something lazy and RM from the freezer because I just don't fancy anything or CBA to prep somethingI'd eat a full roast if one landed in front of me thoughEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Yes leeks can linger Wednesday!
Still gungy but still negative so think it's just a passing lurgy mixed with hay fever. I don't feel terrible just a bit off kilter. My sis is coming for dinner tonight. I prepped it yesterday (enchiladas) so just need to assemble later and make some salad. Pooch sitting Ari again today but he's no bother so plan to have a quiet one. LOs and salad for lunch.

Phew, busy day today! Wfh and it didn’t start well as had to put a quick online meeting in to resolve a bit of an issue. Luckily all sorted and then things calmed down as the day went on so still managed to get done most of what I had planned.
Nipped out to an appointment straight after work, back to prep a couple of days lunches, fruit and have early tea before an urgent online voluntary meeting (also at short notice, must be the day for it) and then swimming. In bed now, should sleep well 😴
LO pasta for lunch and the customary beans with toast for tea.
Just the 4 meetings tomorrow 😬0 -
I won't complain about it being a quiet work day for me then JKS 😁 I did tell the boss off when he used the Q word after lunch, he did get his own back by Skyping me to discuss a issue. When we finally worked out the answer I was able to say I was off at the time it had originally been discussed 🤨
crustless quiche and salad for lunch after a walk in the sunshine to get milk. I had a strange conversation with a elderly lady when I went into T Express which was explained later when I saw her with just a bottle of wine in her basket talking to a assistant who obviously knew her as a regular and was saying to her now don't forget food today 🫣
LO chicken traybake for dinner with LO veg as well so a nice and easy food dayLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
