That is sad Brambling. I always worry that will be me when I'm older. I always picture myself drunk, homeless and penniless when I'm older. It is called "Bag Lady Syndrome" apparently!

Nice image to have first thing in the morning, lol. I have to go out today as I need an outfit for a funeral next month. I'm hoping to find something smart enough in a charity shop. My husband really needs some smart shoes for occasions like this too.

I am going to start the day with a cup of herbal tea from now on. I bought some Clipper ginger teabags which are quite nice. I will probably have some toast before I go out.

    Good morning everyone,
I'm still feeling a bit grotty though no worse, another quiet one today I think. I've some admin to do but nothing else that can't wait though I could do with spending some time in the greenhouse tomato taming. CFOing tonight and will decide later what to have. LOs and salad for lunch.

Hope the quite spell will improve you, I know all about tomato taming, did mine yesterday and just in time I think, found a couple of toms ripening up so worthwhile

Asda delivery arrived, one sub of pork steaks instead of pork joint, so sent them back. I've had those "steaks" before and more like thick rashers IMO, nothing like the yummy ones I bought from Morries last week

    Meals, a fishy day ahead
Lunch, last of the LO pilchards grilled on toast
Dinner, boil / nuke in bag kipper fillets, with HM mash & may splash out & open a tin of beans, or if I can ever find them, the tin of mushy peas which i'm sure is lurking somewhere

  • Ah yes, the Q word is banned with my team Brambling 🙃

Another full on day and the week seems to be catching up with me so I’m skiving swimming in favour of an easy evening on the sofa.

Tuna and hard boiled egg salad for lunch. Prawn, broccoli and pepper sweet chilli noodles tonight.

The nice morning deteriorated to heavy rain by late afternoon 😕 his lordship came in very warm lunchtime (could be because he was making use of the space not taken up by tomatoes in the greenhouse 🤔 )

Another quiet day at work with just the one meeting 🙂

Last of the crustless quiche with salad for lunch I'll go back to my old recipe next time.  Pasta for dinner with a tomato and vegetable sauce

Drizzle but sun is trying hard, big decision early on, is it dinner a roast or salad?
Still undecided, but I have put the fresh chicken in on lowish and will decide later this afternoon, salad is most likely

Lunch, I bought some mini Melton M pork pies in my Asda delivery, so one of those as part of a Ploughman's
Dinner, roast chicken, either with full on roast spuds etc or salad + new potatoes

    Good morning everyone,
I'm still very gungy but feeling more like it in myself but still quite tired despite a decent sleep. Another day of gentle pottering I think.
It's very wet this morning but supposed to dry up late afternoon. Autumn seems to be coming early, there's a flock of Canadian geese on the North beach! It's usually another month or so before they start to appear!
I had a lovely bung together CFO meal last night - bacon with Ayrshire tatties, mushrooms and roasted tomatoes. The bacon was needing used up so I just cooked the whole pack so LOs for lunch. I've beef mince defrosting to make JO's gingery, garlicky black bean mince.

I miss the Canadian geese that used to live near the lake in the park when I lived in London. I used to go and feed the birds everyday there. There were some other unusual looking ones there. Egyptian geese, I think a man told me.

I went out again to some charity shops today and bought a few "new" items. In one of the shops people were clustered around talking about the film Barbie. Everyone keeps going on about that film and Oppenheimer. The man who worked in the shop said people have been coming in to buy anything pink to wear to see the film!

I went out without breakfast so I had crisps and toast when I got home.

I hope the lurgy is a little better Caronc 🙂  looking on the 'bright' side I did see that in Australia they have been hit hard by the flu this year and that is where Europe usually gets it data for the winter  :# they were recommending the flu jab if you're entitled

I remember as a child being frightened on the Canada geese at Poole Park, there were always a lot there and the wanted the bread 😁

Today was very much like yesterday it's been a nice quiet week at work hop it will be the same tomorrow, always less stressful when a certain colleague has leave!

I managed to finish filling my green garden bin tonight after work before it started drizzling, it didn5 come to much but by the time it stopped I was back indoors

egg and smoked salmon salad for lunch.  I cooked some pasta tonight to use up tomato and veg sauce for dinner.  I just catching up on Alan Titchmarsh program on Dorset before bed I wish they weren't broadcasting how nice it is 😁 I'm enjoying spotting the places I know

  • Oh dear, forgot to post again 🙄 - definitely time for a break. Luckily, it’s my last working day before a couple of days off next week.

More tuna and egg salad yesterday for lunch. Made mushroom stroganoff for dinner, served with noodles and broccoli.

Hopefully a quiet, productive day today! Back later…
