It feels muggy today. I am doing another load of laundry, but it looks like it may rain even though it is sunny. There are black clouds in the sky.
I just had two crumpets with PB. I called the chemist and my thyroid medication is ready, but my husband will pick it up for me on his way home.
The reflexologist got back to me finally but she can't see me until September as she is fully booked and then on holiday.
I have leftover kidney beans and sweetcorn so I will make the same as yesterday for lunch or dinner.0 -
Busy office day today so was glad of my lunchbox of the last of the peanut butter vegetable noodles with LO tandoori chicken, eaten in a few minutes between meetings. Smoked mackerel and red pepper pilaf tonight, with some frozen peas chucked in.0

The article had come up on my google Caronc I did have a look for ideas 🙂 I use it with eggs when I make a crustless quiche 😋
Work was very much like yesterday as was the weather 😁 I can't believe it Friday tomorrow
A fishy day foodwise, prawn stirfry for lunch, just prawns and veg no rice or noodles with some sweet chilli sauce. I needed to use up the prawns from the freezer (don't tell the gout). Dinner also a freezer raid this time YS sea bass pan fried with new potatoes, runner and French beans and tenderstem broccoli with a green salsa verde

Good morning everyone,
While I'm never going to be (and don't aspire to) a domestic goddess, I've worked my little socks off this week and the kitchen and living areas have had a thorough clean and tidy apart from a few bits I can't reach. DS2 will tackle those. Not that it will last long as DS2 is back this afternoon and Hector is getting dropped off this evening.
Tesco are due soon and once that's sorted out I plan to do some tomato tidying as the greenhouse plants are turning into triffids!
LOs for lunch and tbc for dinner will see what I fancy later.0 -
Warm & sort of sunny, with all sorts of bad stuff on the way for weekend, at least that'll take care of the garden watering for a few daysI have two edible size runners
, hooray, so dinner will feature those somewhere
Made a fresh overnight loaf, out & cooling for lunchLunch, fresh bread sandwich with LO corned beef & salad bitsDinner, another of the pork loin steaks, should be mash, but my right wrist is hurting, not sure if I sprained it yesterday or has gout crept back?Either way, peeling spuds may prove difficult, in which case it's frozen chips or instant mashEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Have you heard of a low purine diet with gout Farway? I think that was what it is called as I googled it when they said they thought that might be what it was with me.
I had crumpets and a banana for breakfast.
I hung up the washing from the line as I left it outside last night and it rained! Luckily, it dried again.2025 GOALS

Not a bad day at all here, even saw the sun a few times, so took the chance to get a load of washing dried on the line. Don’t think I shall need to water all week…
Working from home until late morning but then had to go in so took a cheese and chutney sandwich, cherry tomatoes and fruit with me. Tuna steak with lentils, spinach and sun dried tomatoes tonight.
I’ve started next week’s meal plan but run out of enthusiasm so will have another think in the morning 🙃0 -

Glad it's Friday especially as this afternoon calculations were needed and the instructions made no sense 🙄 we ended up passing it onto the 'expert' to get them to check our developers had fixed a problemI enjoyed my stirfry for lunch yesterday so made another one this time with some chicken and used satay sauce. Quick trip to the SM tonight to buy some fresh stuff mainly F&V for the week and some half price smoked salmon fell into my bag 😋 which wasn't on the list but....... I didn't fancy dinner once I got back so had some fruit about 9 o'clockLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,My wanderers have returned.
DS2 thoroughly enjoyed Marbella and had a very chilled week. The group had intended to do quite a lot of activities but in the end mainly just chilled, swam and generally lazed. While not as warm as some places it was hitting mid 30s so too hot to want to do much. Hector seemed to have had a fun week, he was very excited to see DS2 but was very tired and a bit bemused I think. We have Frank for a few hours this afternoon so I expect he'll just crash again this evening.
It's tipping it down and quite cool - DS2 has a fleece on!
BLT bagel for lunch and HM turkey escalopes or HM burgers tonight.0 -
Dull start, and now it's raining, of course this is after I had gone up to water the volunteer flower pots. However, DS is now in Cornwall on holiday & it's tipping down there. DIL has booked surfing lessons as well
, but I suppose if you can see the beach then it makes no difference on how wet it is
