  • Oh my goodness, so much rain today! Day off but really didn’t want to go anywhere so have done some catching up inside and watched the tennis. Did force myself out food shopping, mainly because there was going to be a tea bag crisis 😂

Filled pasta, sun dried tomatoes, tuna and sweetcorn for lunch. Cannellini beans, chorizo and spinach mash with poached egg tonight.

It poured most of yesterday, now dry but windy, so maybe I can get into the garden to inspect my so far solitary runner bean

I roasted a small pork loin joint in the airfryer for dinner, it was defrosted and needed using. It was only a £2.50 YS joint rather than £7+ so I decided I would give the AF ago.  Turned out lovely and moist and did make nice crackling (decided against eating that!) and I roasted some potatoes around it. It was a little 750g joint and Google said 25 mins a lb so I did it for 45 mins rather than the 1.20hours on the pack
I couldn't resist and ate mine the other week, like your joint mine was only a small one, ideal CFO size

Made another overnight loaf ready for lunchtime
Cribbing Caron idea, corner beef & salad sandwich for my lunch
Dinner, now the CB will be opened, it's a CB salad, maybe with HM mash, the Maris Piper spuds I bought make the most insipid looking AF chips so if I make enough mash it'll give LOs for possible CB hash another day

    Good morning everyone,
No high winds forecast for here, we've a warning for thunder, lightening and torrential rain instead.
DS2 arrived safely, thankfully Marbella doesn't seem to be affected by the extreme heat and was "only" 31C. Hector seems to have settled with DS1 and DIL-to-be though him and Frank were keeping DS1 on his toes yesterday. They seem to have sussed the distraction technique with H demanding a belly rub while F quietly raided the kitchen bin!
Admin and a bit of cleaning on the cards today, will be the theme for the next few days.
I've defrosted a small pack of lurking turkey mince, I'm now trying to decide if I fancy a burger, meatballs, meatloaf or something else. Corned beef bagel for lunch again.

Farway - I made some really nice AF chips the other day with Tesco finest baking potatoes. They came out perfectly.

My reflexology was much less painful yesterday apart from a point on the top of my foot. I managed to miss the rain walking there and back but it poured down later. There have been quite strong winds here already as my door was rattling last night. It looks quite bright outside so hopefully a good day to dry laundry outside.

I feel like having a big breakfast, grilled tomatoes, hash browns, baked beans, toast etc... I want mushrooms and avocado too, but I don't have any so I might go to Coop if I can be bothered.

Weather forecast was terrible for mid morning onwards so first job of the day was to put the parasol and garden chairs in the shed so they didn’t blow away! Then off into town to run various errands before out to swimming.

Bread and cheese for lunch with carrot, pepper and cucumber sticks. Watched some tennis this afternoon plus did some ironing. Made harissa lamb steak, jewelled couscous and roasted vine tomatoes tonight.

There have been some heavy showers on and off, and it’s been breezy but nowhere near as bad as forecast…

I did see that Goodwood festival of speed was cancelled for today due to forecast high wind and more local our farmers market was closing by 1pm, but it was a nice afternoon here and just got a bit breezy at 7pm and now it's raining 🤷‍♀️

I worked for a hour at 7.30am this morning before handing our system over to IT for server maintenance.  I went to into town for a haircut and popped into M&S my sparks vouchers this time were giving 15% off salad, veg, meat, fish and bakery amongst others things. So I saved about £2.50 on stuff I needed the only meat was YS posh sausages which I got for my sister and let her have the 15% as well 🙂. Then back home to work at 12.30 we were due to finish at 2.30pm but technical issues meant we didn't finish to 5pm so afternoon plans were postponed 😕

I brought some nice rolls in M&S and had a cold pork and piccalilli roll for lunch.  LO roast pork and veg for dinner with some new potatoes

I have inoperable breast cancer and was offered three sessions of reflexology for free. No one could have been more cynical about it than me but it gave me a deep sense of relaxation and I will probably pay for some more treatments.  No idea how it works but there we are

    Good morning everyone,
Wet and windy here today, though yesterday wasn't as dire as forecasted.
I had a video "chat" with Hector last night, he was very waggy and vocal but didn't seem to understand why I couldn't give him a belly rub. I'm now looking after him and Frank (and maybe Ari) on Tuesday so not quite the pooch free week I intended,
Cooked a rather delicious, though I say so myself, bbq sauce glazed turkey and bacon meatloaf.

Needless to say lots of leftovers but I do like thinly sliced meatloaf in a sandwich so it will get used up. I've a pork chop defrosting for tonight. I'll have various veg and Ayrshire tatties with it.
