Well that’s me done with work for the week, just as the weather is starting to improve again 🙃

Usual offsite meeting this morning then home for a melt in the middle fish cake (very average but needed eating) with salad for lunch. Finished pretty much on time and have been swimming this evening. Quick chicken, red pepper and tenderstem egg fried rice when I got in.

Work was busy, there is only me and a colleague who works 25 hours a week and she wasn't feeling well, my boos is off for another two weeks which could end up being a long two weeks 😕

I received a phone call late afternoon cancelling a hospital appointment for tomorrow which I've waited over 4 months for, can't be helped as the consultant is sick but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it! Especially as the woman calling couldn't tell me about a new appointment time.

Sardines on toast for lunch and copying Caronc for dinner, I had already taken chicken breast out of the freezer and was wondering what to do with it, I had all other ingredients and a scotch bonnet in the freezer from the last time I made it.

I only had a banana and an iced coffee this morning. I did buy this (expensive!) vegan and gluten free pie to see what it is like so I might have that with broccoli, carrots and peas for a big lunch. My husband has a hospital appointment In London today and it was moved up in time so he is leaving earlier. He has to fast beforehand.

I am carrying on watching the show Dawson's Creek. I am up to series 6 already. I got the 7 day free trial of ITVX, but obviously couldn't watch it all in just a week as the series were so long.

It is only about £6 a month for ITVX, but I am definitely going to cancel it as the adverts are driving me crazy!

I might just have a sandwich, a salad and coleslaw for dinner on my own later. Wine too!

    Good morning everyone,
It's supposed to be thunder and lightening here this morning but so far the sun is shining.  :)
DS2 is off to the office, he set off around 5.30am and probably won't be back until 9ish this evening. It's a horribly long day but at least he doesn't have to do it every week. Hector could probably do with a quiet day, he seems to have been a busy pooch recently.
I need to sort out the fridge, it seems to have got very untidy, then finalise my Tesco order.
Must be a week for old favourites after Cowboy pie on Tuesday, tonight I cooking a slightly tweaked version of Nigella's beef and beans with pasta https://www.nigella.com/recipes/beef-and-beans-with-pasta which I used to cooked regularly when the boys were at home but haven't made in years. DS2 requested it when we were meal planning last week before we knew what my sis was cooking on Tuesday. LO jerk chicken and salad for lunch.

Cooler & breezy, but it's dry. Up to do bit at the volunteer garden first thing, and get lettuce & toms in the Co-op while there. Members discount on those items so massive 28p saved

I thought ITVX was free? Never watched it because nothing there for me and I always suspected the ads would drive me mad. I stopped with NOW TV because of ads, and again nothing much I'd want to pay for anyway
Currently watching The Good Fight on Prime, getting fed up with it now, but I expect I'll slog on. It's Jack Ryan next

Lunch, return to childhood, bread & dripping, with salt & pepper. Used the dripping from yesterday's pot roast pork, which also turned out to be excellent despite being in the freezer for over a year
Dinner, more of the LO pork, with salad & probably AF frozen chips

Weather just pleasant today, dry and sunny but not too hot, forecast tomorrow is hot!

Walked into town this morning for an eye test. As expected, new glasses needed so a very expensive day off 🙄

Lunch was toasted pitta with houmous, feta, olives and stuffed vine leaves (popped into Lidl for Greek week items 😋). Had a lazy afternoon watching tennis but have done a couple of bits of life admin.

Did a traybake tonight to use up two new potatoes, most of a red pepper and 2/3 of a courgette plus thyme from the garden, a crushed clove of garlic and some sherry vinegar. Served with a chargrilled tuna steak.

Back to watching tennis this evening, come on Andy!

The premium for ITVX cost money, but the normal shows are free. The ads are so annoying. I have to keep the remote next to me to mute them.

I didn't have the pie yet. I think I will have it tomorrow instead of eating out at a restaurant before I go to the concert.

It's been a nice day here as well not too hot 🙂

work wasn't too bad we are still quieter due to it being the 4th July week in the US lots of my to do list ticked off

BTL for lunch using some farm shop proper bacon and a ciabatta roll both from the freezer. Dinner was a Waitrose duck leg a la orange brought YS  a few weeks ago £2 rather the over £7 there were two in the pack so LOs i cooked enough runner beans and broccoli so it will be a easy ping dinner tomorrow. A bit more wiggle room in the freezer and I'm eyeing up another YS bargain after Farways talk of roast pork as Ive a pork loin joint in there I'll see what the weather is like over the weekend if it's too hot for roast I've a small gammon joint in there as well 🙂

    Good morning everyone,
Well the sunshine didn't last and the weather has been quite manky since yesterday afternoon. It's supposed to get better as the day goes on.
Tesco are due soon and then I'll see what the day brings. Might gird my loins and tackle some ironing.
LO pasta for lunch and usual CBA Friday freezer rake for dinner.
