    courgette I roasted
I got through phases of liking courgettes and then hating them. Now I have read that I fancy them, lol.
These were roasted with cumin seeds and chilli flakes.

Office day today and all calm, no dramas, which is always good 🙃

Above mentioned courgettes with wild rice, feta, mint, pomegranate seeds and walnuts for lunch. Used some of the LO chicken and all of the LO potatoes from the traybake to make a big salad tonight - leaves, tomatoes, avocado, pomegranate seeds and a dressing made from roast garlic and lemon juice.

I make courgette chips 😋 adding grated Parmesan to bread crumbs and breading them

Busy but not manic workday but tonight I managed to break a full bottle of extra virgin olive oil  :# glass and oil all over the kitchen floor and up the shirting boards etc. I even managed to skid across the kitchen floor and jarred my hip  :s I think it was the diet gods telling me I shouldn't be baking as I knocked it over when looking for a loaf tin to bake banana bread.  Really bad words were said long and loud, trying to clear up meant the oven was on for a quite a while empty!  and my dinner had to be turned off (airfried) and got cold 🙄 I then made the classic mistake of taking my mixers out of the cake mix and flicking the control the wrong way to high instead of off and spinning cake mix over the cupboards and window  :s

lunch was scotch egg and salad. Dinner a cold pork and apple burger ate whilst cleaning (no bun) followed by rhubarb crumble and custard (I'm blaming Farway for the crumble idea 😁) I decided something else needed to go in the oven 😁

tomorrow needs to be a better day, I don't need to deep clean the kitchen again!

Oh no Brambling! Sounds like slapstick.

I am going to have a smoothie before I go to my hair cut. I did want to look around the charity shops so I might go early as it is meant to thunder later on so I'm hoping to miss it and get the bus back.

That does sound like much too much excitement there, Brambling, but hopefully the crumble was a return to normality.
Today I move up to Gooseberry Fool :) , picked them yesterday, stewed and in fridge overnight ready for Fool assembly later today
Envy the ripening tom Caron, beat me to it, but mine are changing colour so not too far behind

Food, nothing exciting, more on Use Up lines
Lunch, toast with ?? Topping, not cheese, could even be just CBA jam
Dinner, LO nuked mash, fresh grotty wet carrots & broccoli, maybe with fried defrosted cod fillet, or possibly defrosted cooked chicken portion, depends on what I find first in the freezer
    Maybe Gooseberry Fool for later?

    Good morning everyone,
Yikes Brambling that must have taken some clearing up. Hope your hip isn't painful today.
And still it rains though it did clear for a few hours yesterday evening.
I had a fairly productive day yesterday and made a reasonable dent in my "to do", today's main task is to see if I stick or switch provider for my home insurance.
I fancy giving this a try at some point though will probably bake it rather than try to flip it Rachel Roddy’s recipe for potato and tomato frittata | Food | The Guardian
We're off to my sister's tonight for dinner. I believe she's cooking "Cowboy Pie" - just the weather for it. LO curry for lunch.

Back in the office today but I’m two thirds through my working week now 😀

Rest of the courgette and feta rice salad for lunch. Had early tea of beans with toast ready for swimming in a bit (will have to drag myself off the sofa and away from the tennis…)

Kitchen floor needed a second wash this morning as it wasn't quite clean after the oil incident  :# it's been a drizzly day and is now raining quite heavily. Luckily it waited until after I watered the greenhouse to start this evening.

I had to rescue a large magpie from my neighbour's greenhouse this evening, it got in through the open roof window but the door was shut and it was hitting the glass in panic.  It's a big greenhouse so it didn't realise I had opened the door.  His lordship has been known to sleep in mine

I had to go pick up my medicine lunchtime and met the wife of a ex work colleague so had a nice catch-up. I grabbed cheese and crackers when I got back and ate on the run.  Luckily as it's the 4th July we had a quiet afternoon, usually after 2pm our American colleagues keep us busy

chicken wings with corn on the cob, wedges and salad for dinner followed by rhubarb crumble 😋

It was pouring yesterday. It started just as I got in from my haircut and then started really tipping it down about an hour later, just as my husband got back from the vet with my dog. She had her nails clipped.

I was on the sofa watching TV and I felt quite chilly yesterday. I put on my thermal leggings to wear in bed. It has brightened up a lot now and I put my damp washing on the line to hopefully dry outside properly.

Our fridge is almost empty for once as we are getting an Asda delivery today. We only have bagels, some marg, various condiments and 4 onions.

I am going to have either a smoothie or a bagel before I go out as I am getting a pedicure. I think they are worth the money in the summer as they last about 6 weeks and it is much better than if I attempted it myself.

We also had rain yesterday, now it's cool, dry & dull but at least everything has had a good watering

Given the weather I took a pork joint out to defrost last night, been in there since Oct 2021, the same item is now a pound more. Because it has been in freezer so long, I've decided longer & slow cooking instead of roasting, it's in oven now and will be for dinner, maybe as "pulled pork" or sliced, depends on how it turns out

Made overnight loaf in the Panny, lunch probably a salad sandwich
Dinner, the pork, could be as part of salad or "proper" veg & gravy dinner, not sure yet

    Good morning everyone,
My sis did make Cowboy Pie  and it was blooming delicious. DS2 had seconds.  :)
It's actually dry here today though not very warm, It's a tad overcast so I'm debating whether to hang out the washing or just put it over a rack on the deck where I can easily retrieve it if need be.
Salad bits for lunch and JO's jerk chicken sandwich for dinner though I might not bother with the bun and will be using a jalepeno. Jerk spiced chicken in a bun | Jamie Oliver recipes
