I also found it too humid to sleep last night, I was tempted to come down and see if I slept any better on the sofa as the lounge was cooler.  Just as well it's Friday

Only the one meeting today which lasted all afternoon, it was painful as we were having to prompt the other people on the call to respond, there was lots of long pauses until either my manager or I would say and what do you think, there were four others on the call and no one wanted to make decisions 🙄

Omelette and salad for lunch, I had some LO potatoes in the fridge which I added to the eggs with some spring onions.  I needed to use the crème fraiche up tonight so made summer in winter chicken with YS asparagus and tenderstem broccoli. I now have a portion of chicken and veg left and some pesto I'll need to plan on how to use, such is life when CFO 😁

  • I spend half my working life in meetings like that Brambling 😂

Just one short but productive meeting for me today though so lots of other bits cleared up too. Was very ready for “home time”, it’s been a long week.

Half a bag of rocket had died overnight so that got binned and lunch became Serrano ham and hard boiled egg with potato salad, tomatoes and avocado. Made chargrilled tuna steak with avocado, soy and ginger tonight, served with sesame noodles. Would definitely make the soy and ginger sauce again to have with tuna or anything else but wouldn’t bother with the avocado next time, some stir fried veg would have been better 🧐

Another non sleeper here, but I wanted to be up early anyway, down to water & plant out at the volunteer place. All done & dusted by 0830. The heat is building already with no wind today

A bit of watering and finalise the Asda shopping list is all I have planned for the rest of the day. The Asda list keeps growing, my custard stock is low so top that up, and my kitchen scissors lost a screw, so a new pair of those added. It is very handy at times this online shopping

Fresh loaf made overnight, nice fresh sandwich for lunch but not sure what, I may open a tin of Copycat Spam then I can have same with salad and LO mash for dinner tonight. Sounds easy & ideal in this heat

    Good morning everyone,
Raining here but supposed to clear and get very warm.
DS2 is hoping to get the slabs re-laid today which should greatly reduce the amount of muck and dust getting trailed indoors.
Hector was at the vet's yesterday for his annual booster, he was on a total charm offensive and received many, many belly rubs!
Not a huge amount planned for today.
BLT or cheese & pickle toastie for lunch. Steak tonight, I've a couple of rather nice sirloin steaks defrosting.
  • Overcast and humid this morning, sun came out around lunchtime and it just got warmer and warmer. Was awake very early so did my meal plan and shopping list in bed, after shower and breakfast got off grocery shopping. Other than a mountain of ironing, I’ve not done much else except watch tennis and Glastonbury.

Houmous, free Lidl bread roll, cucumber, tomatoes and olives for lunch. Lemon and oregano halloumi and courgette on the bbq tonight, with salad and new potatoes. Also cooked some peppers to go in packed lunch couscous next week 🙃

It's been hot here all day 🥵 at least it got all my washing dry and the bedding can go back on the bed 🙂 I needed to go into town today and it was hot and sticky

Quick ish trip into town this morning I needed to pop in the building society and get non super market stuff like DW tablets and eggs from FM.

I picked up a nice bread roll in the FM so had a tuna Mayo salad roll for lunch. I didn't fancy LOs for  dinner I was too hot 😁 I made a 'grated' salad (carrot, red cabbage, broccoli stem, onion, celery, courgette, sugarsnap peas, apple and red pepper) and ate with a peanut butter and chilli dressing 😋 and the LO tuna (not with Mayo 🙂)  I must make a note of the dressing recipe as it was really nice

It's going to be another scorcher here today, clocking over 90F right now in my conservatory even with window & doors open.
Because of the heat, I watered the pots earlier, and made an apple crumble using the defrosted last year's OG stewed apples. Looks nice and is now out cooling down

With the heat, my meals have been quick & easy because my appetite has gone down as the temperature has gone up, but I'm not fretting at just having a sandwich instead of a cooked meal

Luckily, I remembered some ex Christmas bacon I'd frozen, BLT followed and same again today, and it's HM bread so sort of cooking

    Good morning everyone,
Tipping it down this morning and if the forecast is correct on for the day.
I've just finished watching "The Inside Man" on BBC i-player. David Tennant and Stanley Tucci. Quirky is an understatement but I really enjoyed it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/ ... inside-man
I didn't eat all my steak last night so looking forward to a steak & salad wrap for lunch. Tuscan chicken tonight Tuscan chicken recipe - BBC Food with baby spuds, carrots and broccoli.

I'm hoping tomorrow will be cooler and hopefully I'll get more sleep 😴 it's too early in the summer to be moaning about the heat 🥵

pottering at home morning and after lunch I went around to my sister as she was baby sitting I arrived just in time to help deal with a horrendous nappy 🤢  little one needed a change of clothes and was very nearly hosed down 🫣 but it was worth it for the cuddles 😍 her mum came around to pick her up although she had to have a feed and nap first and then my youngest nephew got home and family friends popped in so it was 7pm before I got home.

A easy LO day for me, grated salad, peanut butter dressing and cheese for lunch.  Summer in winter chicken and green veg for dinner

  • Very hot from very early here today, it got stormy and tried to rain a few times during the afternoon but nothing doing…

Stripped the bed, two loads on the line and dusting, hoovering and mopping first thing. Also nipped out for a few more plants - the summer bedding was mostly too expensive but spent £6.50 in the YS section and got 5 plants that look instantly better for being potted on 🙃

Swimming late morning then home for pitta bread, houmous, olives, sun dried tomatoes and cucumber. Far too hot this evening to do proper cooking so made the chorizo and prawns into skewers with a chunk of sourdough from the freezer and served with a big bowl of salad 😋

Brambling, would you mind sharing the peanut butter dressing recipe please?
