A work day of sorts for me in the sense I needed to keep a eye on emails and the system update our developers are doing this weekend and I was housebound, I will be working probably tomorrow morning from 8am

our promised storm / rain ended up as 5 minutes of thunder and a blink and you miss it 2 mins of rain which was dry almost as soon as it hit the ground this early afternoon followed by a humid afternoon and evening.  It also made the pollen worst 🙄

my sister popped around this afternoon to keep me company and pick up the airfryer I ordered for her and had delivered here.

Sausage sandwich for lunch with brown sauce.  Chicken salad again for dinner this time with jersey royals😋

  • Slightly cooler here today, overcast and a couple of very light showers this morning, sun came out this afternoon but not as silly warm as it has been.

Into town for an appointment first thing so took the chance to pick up a few bits I needed plus my free baguette from Lidl. I’ve had a big tidy up in the garden after last week’s storm and watched quite a lot of tennis 🎾

Some of the sourdough baguette with Camembert and tomatoes for lunch. BBQd pork fillet with a fennel seed crust and asparagus with new potatoes and a bit of green salad tonight.

My hayfever was bad yesterday too and this morning. The allergy test did say I had a reaction to Bahia grass and Timothy grass and hazelnut pollen, but again not serious 1-2, so it was probably from standing in the park for the concert.

I had such a good sleep last night.:) My husband went to another concert so he stayed at his brother's house and I got into bed before 7pm! I had 10 hours 15 mins sleep according to my Fitbit. I did wake up a couple of times to let my dog out and feed all the pets this morning, but I feel great. It was raining most of the night and I had the windows open and the house feels much cooler and fresher.

I'm trying to work out what to eat as I feel starving! I have had some water and an iced coffee with oat milk so far.

Just a spit of rain overnight, wet the pavements, but that's about it. Sun's out now. Hopefully it will stay like this for my RHS Wisley visit tomorrow

Due a visit from DS, dad's day. Lunch may just be chocolate
Dinner, snap Brambling, chicken salad with new potatoes, not Jersey though

    Good morning everyone,
Frank was a good lad last night  :) , he goes home tonight. DS2 got the bits yesterday to properly repair the router connection after it was chewed on Friday!
DS2 is collecting DS1 and DIL-to-be from the airport later and I'll cook dinner for us all before they take Frank home. Snap here too dinner wise as I'm roasting a chook and will make a few salads to go with it. I've a notion for a lentil and feta one so one of those will feature.
  • First lot of rain appeared this morning so that threw my plans a bit. Was only a shower as it turned out and was then a very pleasant day until the big rain late afternoon.

Popped out this morning to do a smallish sainsburys shop, although I needed to stock up on a few basics so not as small or cheap as I had hoped…I’ve watched both of the tennis finals, done a bit of voluntary admin and finally planted up the bargain bedding plants I picked up last weekend.

More sourdough baguette for lunch, this time with Serrano ham and artichoke hearts. Made halloumi, asparagus and new potato traybake tonight, served with the last of the salad.

I was woken by thunder storm at 3am with very heavy rain, the garden definitely looked better for it when I got up.  Then it rained again late afternoon

Work was due to start had 8am but technical issues meant we were hanging around waiting until nearly 9 but we did finish by lunchtime.  I ended up going for a 'nap' after lunch. A week of bad nights caught up with me, I slept for longer than planned but felt better for the sleep 😴

freezer rummage produced some sweet potato falafel which I had with a flat bread for lunch.  I didn't fancy cooking after my 'nap' so tonight's dinner was postponed until tomorrow and I had beans on toast for dinner

I am sleeping so much better with the windows open at night and now it is cooler.

I just had a packet of crisps as I was hungry. Lol.

I have to see what else is left in the fridge that needs to be used up before my Asda delivery tonight. I think it might be more air fried potatoes and a salad for breakfast!

    Good morning everyone,
We had rain and half yesterday evening/overnight. It's still very warm and humid.
Unfortunately the weather impacted on DS1 and DIL-to-be's flight from Stanstead to Glasgow and instead of arriving at 7.30pm it was nearer 11pm. Needless to say they didn't come for dinner and we kept Frank for another night. We now have rather a lot of chicken and various salads to use up so the meal plan is having a bit of a re-think.
I've treated myself to a Ninja food processor. I think I've finally admitted to myself that my hand issues are not going to improve and my days of mega veg chopping sessions are over.
DS2 set up the greenhouse yesterday so I can the tomatoes and cucumbers out of the conservatory. Think I'll wait until I have only one pooch helper though!
Bits and bobs of admin to do and then I really must do some housework.
LO salads for lunch and tonight I'll make fajitas with some of the chicken. I had planned refried bean/pulled pork (from the freezer) tacos so have the bits needed in for a swap.
  • Nowhere near as much rain as forecast here last night, I had pretty much literally battened down the hatches 😅

Very pleasant day today, couple of good meetings in the office and then out for a lunch before an offsite meeting and an on-time finish!

Finished a voluntary admin task this evening and did a bit of food prep for the next couple of days.

Feta, spinach, pea and mint orzo tonight, LOs for tomorrow 😋
