It still feels hot indoors tonight so not looking forward to trying to sleep but it was a little cooler today although my greenhouse was nearly 30 at 9am this morning and I had left the door open all night. It did get cloudy and muggy about 6pm tonight but no rain or thunder
Domestic chores this morning and a cuppa and catch-up with my sister this afternoon. She has been talking about getting a airfryer for months and I was sent a 20% off voucher from Lakeland theirs are also on offer. She is still thinking about it, she has until Wednesday and is so indecisive at times 🙄 I've told her I wouldn't chase her but let me know if she wants me to order, between the voucher and offer it would be about £55 off their own brand which has 4.5 star reviews
I took a tuna steak from the freezer for lunch coated with sesame seeds and seared it, then made a salad nicoise using asparagus instead of French beans. Miso chicken and mushroom traybake for dinner baked with jasmine rice, the recipe was way under on the timings

We’ve had thunderstorms again this afternoon after a very hot day. Amazingly, the office was actually pleasant, someone must have finally worked out the correct setting for the aircon 😂Lots of meetings so already feel a bit behind. Really hoping tomorrow afternoon stays quiet so I can get back on track, it’s one of those weeks where all the meetings fall…
Had the other half a pouch of Mediterranean lentils with feta and peppers that I chargrilled on the bbq last night for lunch, made a really nice salad so will do that again. Snap on smoked mackerel, Brambling. Mine was on pitta pizzas with mozzarella and sweetcorn, served with salad and (bought) coleslaw. LOs for a couple of days easy lunches 🙃0 -
I have been out all weekend and yesterday and it was so hot!
I have had an eventful few days. I managed to cut my foot on some glass on Saturday at the cinema and had to throw away my sandals when I got home as one of them was drenched in blood. I bumped into a nurse on the way home as she saw my foot and she said she thought I might need a stitch, but it looked much worse than it was and cleaned up fine.
We had to book in to a hotel on Sunday night as our bathroom was unusable. I was so tired from walking around in the sun and I took off my clothes and got into bed. My husband went out to buy us some chips for dinner. I was drifting off to sleep and the fire alarm at the hotel went off! I had to put my dress and sandals on and take my bag and phone and go outside. It was a false alarm, luckily.
It was slightly cooler yesterday. We had a little rain and I had literally just hung out the washing and I checked the weather app and it said thunderstorms. I brought it back in and hung it upstairs and the rain lasted all of 10 minutes so I had to peg it all out again outside!
I went out for dinner last night for a Chinese which was delicious and then coming home it actually felt a bit chilly. I have been eating out so much the past few days as we had workman here and so I need to eat at home from now on for the rest of the week.
I am about to make a smoothie and then I will have crackers with assorted bits for lunch. I want to cook a proper meal later and make leftovers, maybe pesto pasta as I want to see what the GF pasta I bought is like. I have two big courgettes and I will grate them into the sauce.

Good morning everyone,
Ouch Wednesday!
Physio yesterday was painful and I'm very stiff and bruised today but my back feels a tad more flexible again so worth it. I think the couple of weeks of not going in and out of the garden is too blame. While I compensated for the lost steps it impacted on my range of movements, no steps for example. One to be aware of in the future I think.
While in town I treated us to some Ayrshire tatties now they've come down in price a bit. I just can't bring myself to pay £8.50 per kg for spuds! £3 per kg sounds much more like it. We'll have some tonight with frittata and salad.
LOs for lunch.1 -
Scorchio again, and set to stay for another week, probably break next Monday when I'm going up to RHS WisleyNot sure if it's the weather or my super skills, suspect the former, but my grapefruit has flowered, not strictly mine, my son grew it from a pip over thirty years ago and this is the second time of flowering in all that time. It's in a pot outside in a bit of a sheltered corner, hiding the drain. However, even if it ever fruited, I'm forbidden grapefruit with my tablets. S0d's Law of courseWatering earlier, but far too hot for much elseLunch, another fried egg sandwich. Warning from Asda about no eggs for delivery tomorrow, wait & see againDinner, snap with grilled mackerel salad & HM coleslaw with new spudsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

All that talk of gout was obviously tempting fate as I woke up with it in my other foot during the night
twice in three weeks is not fun. I've a doctor appointment booked for the end of the month to discuss going on preventative medication. So I'm tired and grumpy 😠
On the local FB page people have been saying my dentist is stopping treating NHS patients, I haven't received my letter yetthere is no where in town taking nhs unless you are under 17 so I'll have to investigate their dental plan
Another late lunch today due to a 1pm meeting so I grabbed cheese and biscuits. LO chicken and rice traybake for dinner, nice and easy with no standingLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Yep, looks like summer is here for the rest of the week at least. Slightly pleasanter today, not as muggy. Was in the office for a couple of meetings this morning and then home doing some actual work 😂
Lunch was LO smoked mackerel pitta pizza, coleslaw and salad. Out to a voluntary meeting this evening so made a quick feta and artichoke pasta for tea.
Long day of two long meetings in a hot room to look forward to tomorrow 🙄0
