  • Think I fell asleep without posting last night! It was sunny and warm but really quite breezy again. I had a couple of nice walks dropping off and picking up the car at the beginning and end of the day. Got what I needed to do done work wise but I think my motivation had gone after another day off. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend, not much planned so will enjoy the weather.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. Because my plan had run out and I didn’t want to go shopping, dinner was tuna steak from the freezer with pouch lentils and added frozen spinach and sun dried tomatoes.

Back later but think the bbq will feature 😉

OMG! It is boiling here. I just did a 40 min walk and I'm all hot and sweaty! Attractive.

I had some oatcakes with PB before I left. I'm just in a pub having a refreshing lime and soda.

    Good morning everyone,
Heading for a hot one today, while not to be as hot as some areas it's veering into "too hot for me" temperature range. I will be lurking in the shade/indoors until the sun goes over a bit late afternoon.
Spoke too soon re being update to date with my voluntary admin! You may remember there was a possible funding opportunity to allow us to expand which didn't pan out. However, we have decided to do it anyway with an August 23(doubtful) or Jan 24 opening. A business plan, cash flow projection etc. are needed and I've offered to do these. Will be dusting off somewhat rusty skills but should be fairly straightforward. I did the number crunching yesterday just need to make it coherent now!
Salad bits for lunch and I've chicken breasts defrosting to griddle later. We'll have those with salad and the LO chips I froze from Tuesday's takeaway.

I looked closer at my test results and I think it is saying it might be gout. My uncle and my Grandfather had gout and I just read it can be genetic. I'm not in any pain, though, which is weird. I will ask at the GP appointment next week.

I just had chips at Southend beach.🤩

I have taken some frozen cherries out to defrost as I read they are good for gout, if that is what it is!

Fingers crossed, or bent a bit anyway :D , that you don't join the CFO gout club.
And chips on Southend beach, yep, did that as a nipper, but they were very gritty and Mum reckoned they had sand blown on them because it was very windy. The things that stick in young minds.
Must have been a Charabanc works outing because we never had a car and train would be out of the question

Up early again, deliberately this time because I wanted to water the volunteer plants before the heat gets under way, getting hot by the time I was back home about 0930 but told it may chuck it down this afternoon

Made a loaf overnight in the BM, it's sunk a bit, edible but not prize winning. But it's fresh at least
Decided to defrost a couple of the posh burgers for lunch & dinner
    Lunch, burger sandwich
Dinner, burger, eggs & HM AF chips. Frozen peas maybe?

I have to finalise my Asda list for delivery next week, tempting fate by getting some lamb chops this time because the lamb steaks were fine

Faraway it would be ironic if it is gout as I was talking with you and Brambling about gout on here the other day!

I had a jackfruit curry and rice in a restaurant for lunch.

  • A very lazy day, too hot to do much for a lot of it so have read, watched tennis and pottered around. Did go grocery shopping to Lidl and then sainsburys for the bits I couldn’t get in Lidl. Got some bargain petunias at Lidl 🌸

Mozzarella and pesto pizza bread (free Lidl bakery item) and loads of salad for lunch. Garlic and mint bbq lamb leg steak, roasted veg couscous and salad tonight.

Too hot to do much here as well 🥵 I decided I didn't need to go into town today and only remembered after 6pm that I wanted to go to the Building Society 🙄 just as well it can wait for next Saturday although I may be working

I hope the brain wasn't too stretched Caronc

LO lamb traybake for lunch.  Dinner was pan fried salmon and salad

Dull but warm, could be storms on the way, in a way I hope so to save me watering the plants, DD reports it's tipping down Southampton way, just need a gentle breeze to get it across to here

This heat is affecting my appetite, binned most of last night's dinner, just didn't fancy it once cooked. Managed a cracker later though

Lunch, basic cheese & sliced raw onion sandwich. The cheese is Mark's low fat Cheddar I picked up by mistake. Not a mistake I'll make again, it's OK but not for me
Dinner, back to salad. I'm defrosting a mackerel fillet, either fry or most likely grill, with HM use up spuds mash & salad

    Good morning everyone,
We had heavy rain and thunder overnight. Hasn't cleared the air one bit and it's still very hot and sticky. DS2 is forging on with the deck while it's dry but forecast isn't promising.
My brain was definitely stretched yesterday Brambling but I made good progress yesterday, just need to find the oomph to crack on with it today. Another cuppa needed first I think.
Cottage cheese salad for lunch. I've lovely butcher's pork rib chops defrosting for dinner. We'll have them with Jersey Royals and various veg.
  • Think it was slightly cooler today but I certainly worked up a sweat doing domestic goddess duties this morning 😂. Few hours of cleaning and laundry and then went for a swim.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch when I got back, and then settled down to watch tennis for most of the afternoon. Huge thunderstorm late afternoon with huge hailstones, which has made quite a mess of the garden - I’ll let it finish drying out but then lots of sweeping needed.

BBQ’d wild garlic sausages, rest of the roast veg couscous and salad tonight. Also chargrilled some peppers on the BBQ for packed lunches, etc 😋
