I just had my GP appointment. She said my cholesterol is slightly higher than it should be and that my uric level is higher than it should be, but she wouldn't say I had gout as I have no pain or redness in my fingers. She said that the basic blood test for rheumatoid arthritis came back okay but there is another blood test to come back that is very specific to seeing if I have RA. She is referring me to the rheumatologist just in case anyway, but she said it could be a long wait.
I had a smoothie and some GF toast when I got home.0 -
Sunny again, sorry to hear the gout has returned Brambling. From my recent experience it does seem like once it is "in" it just keeps coming back, hence the preventive medication. Let's hope your doctor agrees, I don't think it is expensive or has long term problems but Dr will know for sureAnd now to dentist, so far mine is still NHS, but I had a message my July appointment was cancelled and contact them. Managed to get in touch by e-mail yesterday, no one answers the phone. Now I have an appointment tomorrow lunchtime, despite it being a tad awkward timing I decided to grab it while going is good, just in caseAsda delivery arrived, some unavailable items for once, bananas, yoghurt & celery.Non-critical, eggs I have medium subbed for large but at least the lamb chops, black pudding & MM pork pie arrived, s0d the missing healthy stuff, get the meaty items inLunch, more bacon mishaps now arrived, I'll have a look & maybe BLT sandwichDinner, definitely a salad, there are some good baking sized potatoes in my fresh delivery, so jacket spud and probably a grilled lamb chopEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Oh no Brambling, hope it's short lived.
Fingers crossed for the test results Wednesday.
Another scorcher, yesterday the town thermometer hit 30C just before 11am. It's in a very shady spot so very high for around here. I do wish it was just few degrees cooler.
On the home straight with the admin, I think.
I really must try and find some oomph to sweep through, there's sand and grit everywhere!
LOs for lunch. I'm CFO this evening so dinner is tbc but will probably involve Ayrshire tatties.1 -
I meant to say my husband's friend just got diagnosed with gout a few days ago too. It must be catching!
I have the hygienist tomorrow morning. When I moved here the dentist wasn't taking on any NHS patients, but because I paid to see the hygienist she let me join up. That trick worked in London too as they said they weren't taking on any more NHS patients at my old dentist, but being prepared to pay for the hygienist makes them more likely to take you on. It is bad really if you had serious problems with your teeth, but couldn't afford regular hygienist visits.
I'm going to have breakfast for lunch. Veggie sausages, baked beans, hash browns, grilled tomatoes etc. I'm really looking forward to it.
I finally did my allergy test to send off too just now. I had totally forgotten about it with all the disruption to the house and staying in hotels etc...

Long day as predicted but not too bad heat wise.
More LO smoked mackerel pitta pizza, coleslaw and salad for lunch. LO feta and artichoke pasta with salad after swimming this evening. A very easy cooking day 😂. I have prepped fruit for breakfasts and lunches tonight and sorted packed lunch for tomorrow.0 -

Between the heat and the gout I had very little sleep last night and felt very spacey and a little wobbly when I got up this morning, luckily it was a slow start work wise with no calls until after 3pmI managed to get a slipper on to water this evening but it wasn't happy.
Lunch was a cheese salad with the last of the potato salad. I wasn't very hungry tonight so dinner was the last tasteless pear and blue cheese and a bowl of cerealLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin2 -
Wow, £200 for a filling.
I am having a smoothie for breakfast that I kept in the fridge last night. Cherries and frozen banana. It feels nice and cool in this weather. It does feel less hot and humid today.
When I get home from the hygienist I am going to boil some jacket potatoes and then put them in the air fryer to crisp them up. I'm having them with baked beans and salad.2025 GOALS

Sunny & hot again, I'm off to the dentist at lunchtime, I do know I have a filling that needs sorting out, but being NHS I think it's around £70, far better than the £200 mentioned. I'm hoping it can all be done in one sitting and not require another visitAfter my return it'll be late lunch, sort of tempted to get some F & chips on way home, but weather is not really suitable so more than likely it's a bacon roll to try out the new pack of bacon misshapesDinner, yesterday's lamb chops were fine, but pack had two in, one large & one tiny. So I'm thinking of a possible mixed grill tonight now I have everything, small lamb chop, black pudding, bacon, mushrooms etc. Make a change at least

Good morning everyone,
I hate when pack have unevenly sized contents.
It's another hot one! I've finished the business planning stuff but some more admin has come my way. Thankfully not as much and I did offer. Frank is coming for his first sleepover here, he arrives this evening and goes home on Sunday evening. I think the next few days are going to be rather busy, especially as I also have Ari during the day on Saturday!
LOs for lunch and JO's one pan bacon and bean pasta for dinner.1 -
Breakfast was just a couple of coffees for me as I am deep into decluttering stuff
Then I had a parcel arrive with some china that I had found to match a couple of missing pieces in a set I want to give to my eldest DD
The box was huge and I have half a large sack of green polystyrene pellets to find a home for I'm not too sure if the bin men will take them or not !
It was good the stuff arrived intact, and not broken but the packaging was a bit OTT.
Lunch will be soup and a roll I think the I too have a dental appointment this afternoon. Goodness knows what it will cost but its essential as one of my crowns has broken off so I think its going to be pricey
Dinner ,I have got out of the freezer and its garlic chicken and mash and veg, with some fresh fruit to follow I have a couple of oranges to use up plus some grapes that have to be eaten so I will dice them all up ,maybe dollop of yogurt on top and that will be a bit more gone from the fruit bowl and fridge i'm away on holiday soon so I'm eating all sorts of odd concoctions to use them up
