Work today wasn't as manic as expected after a system upgrade 🙂 just one glitch which needs a fix tomorrow morning by IT.  Unfortunately there are already emails and meetings for the next project 😕 we would like time to ensure all is ok with this one which has taken five years plus to process, with last weekend being the last bit. Early retirement next May is more and more attractive!

Salad again for lunch, this time Parma ham, egg and avocado.  Pork and mushroom stroganoff with rice, tenderstem broccoli and asparagus for dinner. I brought crème d'isigny crème fraiche (very naughty 😁) as it was on offer and therefore cheaper than their own brand by the pot although not by weight which is ok as it's just me 🙂 so a smaller container is better.  It was so much nicer than the lower fat cheaper ones so thick and lovely with the texture and colour of clotted cream, it made a delicious stroganoff 😋 I have LO stroganoff and half a container of crème fraiche to plan another naughty dinner or two 😁😋

I woke up feeling weird, like I had pressure in my head, and a thunderstorm broke out. It still feels humid even with the rain.

We have so much food after our Asda delivery last night. I think I might have a GF bap with vegan cheese and an iced coffee.🤩 When I was clearing out our fridge I realised I have some Branston pickle, but think.that might need to be binned. Don't remember buying it!

The rain held off for my Wisley visit yesterday, it was hot & sunny so finished up shattered by the evening
Woken up at 0530 this morning, a mighty crash of thunder on my roof, it poured down at last, even topped up the bird bath. I guess it reached you a bit later, Brambling?

Hope you get on well with the Ninja Caron, certainly no point in struggling if you don't have to

My meals today are changeable, depending on a "sniff" test of the opened cooking bacon bits. Still in date but I've not used them as often as anticipated, if OK I'll have some in a bacon bap for lunch and rest with frozen chips, eggs etc for dinner

If bacon is not OK, then it's plan B, which is sub bacon with use up LO cooked cold roast chicken

Demonstrating Flexibility JJ 1122 ;) , and welcome

    Good morning everyone,
Absolutely JKS  , I check out what I have and what's on offer before I meal plan and it's always flexible enough to be changed if need be. I try to include one or two meals that are wholly based around freezer/cupboard that can easily get postponed if plans change.
Frank has gone home, apparently he's a very tired pup today as is Hector. However, they were calmer yesterday which bodes well when they are with each other for longer periods over the summer.
Off to my sister's tonight for dinner and I'm hoping if it dries up to get some gardening done this afternoon.
Last of the chicken and LO salads for lunch.
  • Drove through torrential rain to the office this morning. Not sure if it wasn’t as bad at home or has just all dried up 🤔

Good day in the office, even if I was confused as I don’t usually do Tuesdays.

LO feta, spinach and pea orzo for lunch. Just had beans with toast as it’s swimming later this evening 🏊‍♀️

Reached here just before 6.30am, sounded like the roof was coming in  ⛈️

I had to go for a blood test today as I have a medication review next week, officially my thyroid bloods aren't due until November but the surgery was determined, they now share a pharmacist with four other surgeries and I think are being knocked into shape as this is the first actual review and I've been on them 20+ years.  Only a 45 min wait at the hospital, there is no good time to go!

Late lunch of cheese, apple and crackers when I got back.  I didn't fancy LOs tonight so dinner was ham, egg and cheese salad with new potatoes

Back to sunshine today and not as sticky either
Hoping to do a bit in the garden, one thing is picking the few strawberries I have ripening having managed to keep the birds off this year, just waiting for the sun to warm them up a bit first

Made a loaf overnight in the Panny, just as well because the last remaining bap had mould on this morning, so binned it

Lunch, fresh bread so a nice cheese & sliced raw onion sandwich I think
Dinner, back to salad, the cold LO roast chicken, new spuds, HM coleslaw & salad

Is it the birthday review thing? I just had mine although they checked it back in March when it was my actual birthday. Apparently the thyroid med I'm on is the right dose.

That is the good thing about living in a small town compared to London. I turn up to my blood test and get seen straight away.

I have had someone in a white van turn up at my door and ring the bell. I specifically wasn't expecting anyone so I ignored them!

I will have my usual toast for breakfast. I bought some GF bread from Asda so I will see what that is like...

    Good morning everyone,
My new food processor arrived yesterday evening just as we were about to head to my sister's so I'll have a play with it later. I'm cooking a curry tonight so will see how it does with the veg chopping and paste making. I'm hoping it will make life a bit easier. I do have one but it's was a cheapy, is too large for day to day use and doesn't slice or grate that well. This one is fairly compact and gets decent reviews for all the functions. I'm hoping it will get a lot of use and take the pressure off my poor hands!
Meal plan changed again tonight, it was supposed to be chicken & rice traybake but we've had chicken in one shape or form for lunches and dinner since Sunday including fajitas twice as my sister made them last night for us!. Spinach, chickpea and potato curry instead. Lunch will be cottage cheese salad. I'm feeling the need for a wee meat-free day.

OMG, the GF bread was absolutely gross! I bought two loaves of it too, rather unfortunately!

I still can't work out who that was that knocked at my door earlier. Direct Line are meant to be coming round tomorrow, I thought. Very strange.

I think I might have breakfast for dinner again. I'm having mushroom sausages, curly fries, baked beans and grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. I will give the GF toast a miss!
