Sunshine and cold wind again. No rain due until next week, so they say, looks like a busy time with the watering can aheadAsda delivery due tomorrow, short of eggs & tinned spuds e-mail, but I've learned to ignore them because it's so often wrong, I suppose it would be useful if one was relying on a particular & specific item to arrive, so alternatives could be arranged, but luckily I'm not that dependent on what arrives, or notIt's use up LOs meals for todayLunch, salad bits sandwichDinner, nuked LO ham chowder thingEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Farway - I just got a message from Asda saying there are three substitutions in my delivery today, but then last time they brought the right items. I haven't noticed that happening with any store but Asda.
I have been having problems with my stomach and migraines again so I just ordered a York allergy test as it was on offer yesterday, luckily. My GP said arthritis pain can be linked to diet too. I will be interested if it can tell me what I'm reacting to as I can't figure it out.
I remember someone I worked with (decades ago) saying she used an allergy test and she found out she couldn't have garlic. She said it is in so many processed foods.
I am having a glass of water with lemon. I'm going to make a smoothie after my shower. I'm going to try to stick to quite plain foods as much as possible.

Good morning everyone,
Yep it's project and a half!
Drains & traps are in and most of the backfill done. Both boys and dogs were shattered yesterday evening. DS1 is back to work today but DS2 has the rest of the week off. Thankfully the very heavy work is mainly finished. A slightly easier day today of pressure washing, pointing and painting. All being well the deck posts will go in tomorrow.
LOs for lunch and refried bean tacos for dinner.0 -
Sunny here again but still windy. I had to go out this morning and came home via the Farm shop to pick up some pork and apple burgers for my sister, whilst there I picked up some watercress and some local rhubarb I was tempted by the local asparagus which looked lovely but £3.50 a brunch put me off
This afternoon was spent gardening unfortunately the front is hot in the afternoon and the ground is already getting hard to week
smoke mackerel salad for lunch with watercress. Sausage, mash and veg for dinner not brought today but they were FS sausagesLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Deck work starts today and I'm hoping enough will be in place by the weekend to let me get out of the back door again! DS2 is back to work on Monday so after Sunday it will need to be a weekend/evening project. He certainly has picked a great week weather wise for an outdoor project.
Cheese, crackers and salad for lunch. Tonight it's Southern Fried chicken thighs, baked spuds, various veg and fakeaway KFC style gravy.0 -
The Asda delivery arrived, all except the tinned spuds, they "could" have subbed with dear ones at twice the price, but I think subs are tightly computer controlled these days.Even better the Lamb steaks arrived for me to try at last, they look OK, but a lot can be tucked away by cunning packagingThe cooking bacon pack also arrived, normally sold out. Looks a decent pack and I reckon I could get a few bacon butties out of itWednesday, have you tried for a Dairy intolerance? A lot of food has milk derived ingredients. A friend is dairy intolerant, and it is a devil finding dairy free, turns up in all sorts of foodHopefully the test will help in avoiding whatever it isLunch was salad sandwichDinner, last of the LO ham chowderEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

sounds like the police helicopter has been going overhead for a while this evening 🤨 we had trouble in town on Monday evening which is unusual for our small town, three people were stabbed and a gang of kids between 13-19 arrested with weapons at 11pm in the centre of town. Not sure if tonight is a police deterrent or there is more trouble, i live about 2 miles from the centre of town so we didn't hear anything
I walked into town this morning for brunch with my sister, a very nice Full English breakfast. The afternoon was spent pottering in the front garden. My nephew did some more work in the back garden and I had to try and stuff it in the last small space in my garden rubbish bin and my compost bin. I did tell him to add to my second compost bin as it had space but after I mentioned I had seen a mouse in it he left it by the side of itcod florentine for dinner with runner beans

Sunny again, so may potter in the garden later because I found a tomato plant, somehow overlooked, so time to get that straggler planted out in a space I don't really haveThe pack of "cooking bacon" is a good one, so good I had a cooked breakfast this morning, bacon & eggs for a changeLunch, has to be BLTDinner, the Asda lamb seems good, so will make the lamb steaks meal, slightly varied, no garlic for me, but new pots, lamb, rosemary & red currant will feature. However, the veg maybe mixed frozen for convenienceEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Deck work ongoing.......
Some admin bits to do and I need to finalise my Tesco order. Apart from that I'll see what the day brings.
BLT sounds like a good idea for lunch, thanks Farway.
Pasta with HM chorizo, pesto and tomato sauce for dinner.0 -
Home this afternoon from a few days away with family (and someone else cooking) 😊
Picked up a few essentials on my way home and got some RTC fresh prawns so made a quick noodle stir fry with green beans and ginger for tonight.
Not back to work until Monday so a nice few days at home now, hoping for some garden friendly weather 🤞0
