    Good morning everyone,
    Cloudy and damp here.
I'm expecting DS2 and Hector back anytime then later DS1, DIL-to-be and Frank are coming down and we're all heading to my sister's for dinner. It will be the first time Frank will have been to her flat and met her cat. Poor puss, him and Hector have only just settled to an uneasy truce so I can see fun and games with a pup.
I'm going to make the most of the remaining quiet time by doing some more admin.
    Salady bits for lunch.

Long day for me yesterday so I didn't post, the joys of the A27 around Chichester on Saturday morning and the Wimborne bypass meant a 2.40 hour journey to Dorset but just 2 hours home.  It was a lovely service for my aunt, we weren't going to stay after the service as there was no wake but my eldest sister tempted us with cake 😁 so 9 of us went back to hers, it was good to catch up with some of my sisters, nieces and my ex sister in law. My eldest sister has threatened violence if one more person tells her she is now the family matriarch as the eldest person on mums side 😁 she made the point of saying we have older cousins on the other side 🙂

my sister and I went on a one day mosaics course today which is our Christmas present to each other, it was overLooking shoreham harbour lovely views at the boats and a beautiful sunny day 🌞 we took a pack lunch and ate it watching the sea.

Home made lasagna from the freezer for dinner.

  • That sounds like a lovely day Brambling. Gorgeous weather again here, think summer might actually be trying to arrive finally.

I’ve done some voluntary admin and some food prep for the week ahead as have a feeling it’s going to be a long one. Other than that, I’ve mostly been out for a lovely lunch 😋

Smoked salmon sandwich and a glass of wine for supper. Watched the first episode of Steeltown Murders - bit slow at first but it started to get interesting towards the end so I will persevere with the next episode…

I have had a wonderful long weekend. We went to a castle for a long walk, to a local Shanty festival (where people were singing sea shanties!) to see Dara O Briain and to an outside bar in London. We ate out a lot too. I had the most gorgeous Pad Thai on Saturday. With the lovely weather and eating and drinking outside it felt like a short holiday.:)

I have to do lots of boring things today, cleaning and admin stuff. I want to finish the book I started last night too.

I had Ryvitas with houmous for breakfast and I am having pizza, garlic bread and salad for dinner tonight.

I might just have soup and bread for lunch. I have a tin from Aldi so I might stretch it out by adding a tin of drained chickpeas and have it over three days. It says it is meant to be 19 today, but it feels chilly to me!

Oh yes, that is what I craved, homemade leek and potato soup. I am ordering from Tesco now so I will add that to my groceries.

Dull but mild, into town for a bit of shopping, Mark's YS mooching
Not YS but was tempted into buying Arbroath kippers from Marks, plenty of date so that's one dinner sorted
I also bought YS extremely posh sausages, Parmesan & truffle which will be today's meals
Oh, and YS choc éclairs fell into my trolley

Lunch will be a Very Posh banger sarnie
Dinner, ditto VPB with HM mash & frozen mixed veg

Heard from DGD, she has been interviewed by Beeb South and broadcast is scheduled for this evening, presumably in the local news slot. No news yet on prize judging, which is also today

    Good afternoon everyone,
You'll be glued to the news later Farway
Sunny but very breezy here today.
I've spent most of the morning on calls. I'm now gearing myself up to raise an issue with Boots re a flaw in the new prescription service or rather how they are managing it on their system. The woman I spoke to earlier was polite but extremely obstructive (computer says "No" type conversation!) to put it politely but I'll wait until I've calmed down before pursuing.
I had lovely evening at my sister's but fair to say that puss was very unimpressed and Frank terrified of him.
Salad bits for lunch and lamb for dinner. I had taken the lamb out to defrost for yesterday before dinner at my sister's was arranged so it needs used up. I'm making a tweaked version of the recipe JKS posted with Jersey Royals, sprouting broccoli and asparagus.

Overcast and a bit cool this morning but it must have actually been milder as the heating didn’t kick in - hoorah! Turned into a lovely afternoon and evening.

Busy day of lots of meetings so don’t feel like I’ve achieved much.

Nice summery food today - couscous with cucumber, tomatoes, feta and walnuts for lunch. Made a spinach, caramelised onion and feta tart tonight, had it with salad and coleslaw. There’s LO tart for lunch tomorrow 🙃

My gout has returned in my big toe  😕 I woke in pain about 3.30am this morning so all my plans for my day off were put on hold, luckily I have tablets still in date from the last attack. I spoke to the dr surgery to cancel a asthma review booked for this morning and to book a appointment to discuss preventive gout medication (you'll know the tablets Farway) the next available appointment is in 6 weeks 🙄  The nurse called me for my review instead, at least she can't comment on my weight on the phone :# and as well as my asthma review she wanted to discuss the gout and ensure I didn't need a dr appt sooner.

My nephew dropped round some milk and a couple of bread rolls so lunch was a gammon and salad roll.  I didn't fancy cooking the planned chicken traybake for dinner so just airfried a chicken thigh and added some cooked new potatoes to the AF for chicken and chips

I have had sparkling water and a cup of coffee with oat milk so far today. I am probably going to have some granary bread and marg and Marmite in a minute.

I have my new sandals delivered today and I'm trying to place an order with Superdrug now. Typical as I woke up at 7 and got ready in case they arrived and just got an email that they will be here at midday.

I am making tortilla wraps with peppers, lettuce, tomatoes and "This isn't Chicken" pieces tonight as I keep hearing on YT how good they are. Probably air fried chips too. I might go out and buy some salsa later after my sandals are delivered. Not sure about lunch yet...

Oh No Brambling with gout back, just as it seemed clear. Hope the nurse is as good as my Practice one, she can prescribe as well, so hopefully you may get some long term tables, Allopurinol? From her.
They certainly have worked for me and the only thing I get now is a slightly red finger for instance instead of sausage fingered club hand

Sunny day ahead, warm as well, apart from a bit of tootling around the garden I have nothing planned

The very posh, truffle sausages were a bit of a let-down, OK but not enough to buy them again. I have one cold one lfet to scoff sometime
Lunch, something salady sarnie I think
Dinner, one of the Arbroath kippers, with mash & maybe peas

DGD at Chelsea, big day yesterday, she was celeb spotting and chatting, Brian May, Alex, One Show, Alan T, Adam Frost, Judi Dench. No King, they were not on the Royal Route!
But topping it all, they won a Gold Medal :D . A bit from Beeb site with DGD pictured
