I make a similar traybake Caronc the recipe adds a broken up ciabatta roll added half way through so the bits are soft at the bottom with sauce and crisp on top, a recipe from my nephew 😋
another nice day here, just a shame I had to work 😁 i went out lunchtime as I was told one of the charity shops had a warehouse with parking I could drop off at so off loaded a car full of my stuff and stuff I collected from my friend on Sunday. I was lucky to get the last car parking space (the run the food bank as well so busy) I was blocked in by another car as I was tying to leave, when I asked them to move when they got out, it seems it was my fault as I was in the space they wanted, the logics of if they let me out they could have it seemed to escape them, some tutting and eye rolling when they moved 🤷♀️
at least my small bedroom is a carrier bag free zone although maybe a Freudian slip that I forgot the stack of cookery books in the other room !quick egg and crab stick salad for lunch before my 2pm meeting. I forgot to cook the gammon so dinner was a bean burger from the freezer with wedges and a corn on the cobLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
I had mashed avocado on wholemeal bread for breakfast. I have a hearing test today. I got a free voucher (very MSE of me) and so thought I should have it done. My husband gets hearing tests at his workplace.
It looks like a nice day here, I have to hang up the washing before I leave.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Oh I love the idea of adding ciabatta to the mix Brambling thanks.
Hobbling a bit today after physio and am very bruised. It was five weeks since my last appointment due to various holidays which was a week or so longer than what seems to keep things ticking over. Hopefully I'll feel a lot more flexible tomorrow.
As expected LOs from last night for lunch. There's quite a bit of liquidy bits leftover which I'm going to blend and freeze as the basis of a pasta or rice dish.
JO's mini pasta shells with bacon and peas for dinner, not made it for ages so looking forward to it. It scales down beautifully for CFO and reheats well. Bacon & Pea Pasta | Pasta Recipes | Jamie Oliver Recipes0 -
Late clocking in, Asda delivery, lunch & a bit of gardeningNo lamb in the Asda delivery, nil stock
. I'll keep an eye open next week when I hope to go into town & Mark's, at least I will be able to pick my own, and the quality will be good, unlike the probable eye watering price
.
Lunch was last of the tuna paste & fresh tom sarnieDinner, salad day again. Pack of 4 bakers on offer from Asda, and they are a decent size, unlike the Iceberg lettuce which is sprout like. Defrosting another salmon fillet to accompany the saladCould be salad again tomorrow because I have a volunteers meeting, PMEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
There’s a lovely roast chicken salad recipe on the BBC Good Food website that has ciabatta in the bottom of the roasting tray to make huge yummy chicken croutons - one of my favourite summer entertaining recipes 😋
Gosh, Farway - hope the lamb recipe is worth it after all this!
Usual offsite meeting this morning but home in time for lunch of filled pasta, tuna, sweetcorn, sun dried tomatoes and the end of the bag of salad. Swimming again this evening so easy reheat of LO risotto from the freezer with some freshly cooked green beans.
Over halfway through the week 🙃0 -
I like the sound of that JKS 😋
I went into T Exp on the way home tonight looking for a iceberg lettuce and had to settle for little gems it was nearly 9pm. I may pop to Sainsbury or Waitrose tomorrow to see if they have any hopefully a decent size 🙂 i don't need a lot although I'll check my vouchers first
Lunch was a repeat of yesterday egg and crab stick salad. Freezer raid for dinner 🙂 spinach and ricotta cannellini so a nice and easy ping meal. I cooked my small gammon lunchtime so that will do for a few daysLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Sunny & warm day ahead, hope so because I'm out this afternoon for a volunteers' meeting, plus collect my prescription while thereI suspect with the fine weather everyone is switching to salads, which is why the Icebergs are drying up, anytime now expecting picture of empty shelves and glum faces in the papersSaw your water shortage on TV Brambling, or linked I expect, queue of water tankers near BognorLunch today, egg on toastDinner, quick & easy due to meeting PM. Sausages out defrosting, those AFd, plus nuked LO HM mash, maybe open tin of beans, and maybe more eggsIt's Chelsea flower show next week, and green fingered granddaughter is getting the college stand & exhibit ready, she will be staying up there for a few days at friends aunt's house, save a long early morning travelMy Granddaughter is third in from right in the picture, should the stand feature on TV

I had my hearing test yesterday. She said my hearing is excellent and that in some parts of the test my hearing is better than a 21 year old!
I skipped dinner last night as I was so tired. I did over 17,000 steps yesterday as I misjudged how far away the test was.
I'm skipping breakfast too as we are leaving early for our walk. I will get a sandwich when I'm out.2025 GOALS

Good afternoon everyone,
Well done to your DGD Farway.
Running behind myself today after sleeping in until after 10am. I ended up taking stronger painkillers last night which zonked me a bit but my back is much less painful today.
Nothing much planned apart from voluntary admin and some chores.
Lunch was a bacon, egg and tomato roll. Tonight it's JO's bejewelled pork with rice & beans and either veg or salad.0 -
Exciting for DGD, Farway!
Office day today and it’s been a bit manic, mainly because other people can’t just do what they’re supposed to 🙄
Lunch was the other half of the roast carrot, goats cheese and grain salad. Glad of my planned easy tea - chargrilled tuna steak with Mediterranean lentils, spinach and sun dried tomatoes. There may have been gin taken 🍸0
