I did my duty here as well and voted after work, they have combined our polling station with another to avoid closing the school around the corner, so some senior gentlemen making a meal of checking we had photo ids and where we lived to make sure we voted in the right room 🤨

Drove to Waitrose afterwards with a small list but was led astray with some very good YS on fish and lamb including monk fish £9 down to £2.50 it's been a long time since I treated myself to monkfish 😋 it's all gone in the freezer.

Lunch was a repeat of yesterday sausage and egg roll.  Dinner was prawn cocktail (YS) with salad and some half price sourdough bread

baby was sent home this morning 🙂 a bit wheezy but on inhalers

I'm glad the little baby is at home again Brambling.

I am going to have yoghurt and fruit for breakfast. I am going out to get a pedicure and there is meant to be a thunderstorm and it is raining here now and I have to walk. I could get a bus but it is isn't that far and the bus costs £2 for any journey around here.

I still resent having to pay as I got free travel when I lived in London! Lol.

Weather can't decide what to do, a bit of sun, a bit of rain, I've put  some toms and the beans outside to start hardening off anyway

Caron, I hope your drain doesn't turn out to be a "pitch pipe" collapsing, being grey water builders cut costs by using pitch pipes instead of the hard glazed drain pipes. I'm now an expert because one collapsed that drained some of our houses of rainwater. Needed the lot replacing, trenches dug etc, so hoping yours is just a minor blockage of some sort

I have a gammon joint for the weekend, on offer from Asda, doubt it's as nice as W8rose but it's economics innit ;) . Currently soaking in water to remove any excess saltiness, not supposed to need it, but some reviews say they can be salty
I'll be cooking it in the oven, not boiling on hob

Made an overnight French loaf, so lunchtime bread is sorted, yet another HM burger
Dinner, by then the gammon should be cooked with intention at the moment of ham salad but that could change

    Good morning everyone,
Thankfully Farway it would seem to be a blockage where my pipes meet the main sewer at the bottom of the garden. It's happened before just really awkward to fix. I didn't hear from them yesterday so need to get on the phone today to chase up.
    Glad baby is home Brambling.
Tesco are due anytime and then I'll cracking on with my "to do". We are having a family gathering tomorrow, not for the coronation but for my DIL-to-be's birthday which was when they were away last weekend. She has requested pulled pork tacos.
LOs for lunch and usual Friday freezer rake for dinner.

So, another long weekend arrives 😀

Good news about the baby, Brambling. Hope you’ve enjoyed the start of your long long weekend.

Nice WFH day today, started in my pj’s as I slept late for me. Decided at 12.30 I should perhaps get dressed 😂

Lunch was tinned plum tomatoes with toast (just fancied it). Made a chorizo, pea and spring onion risotto tonight, served with sugar snap peas. LO risotto in the freezer.

Planning to get out and do my grocery shopping first thing tomorrow before taking up my position on the sofa to watch proceedings. Enjoy your weekend everyone 🤴

A picky dinner of tomato and mozzarella salad, prawns, olives etc

Raining this morning, shame for all those with something planned for the day.

Good news about the drain Caron, at least you know what to expect, but I suppose the Bank Holidays could get in the way

Nothing planned here, although I have taken ready-made Asda ex Christmas pigs in Bs out to defrost should I fancy a snack of something a bit different from cheese & crackers

Lunch last of the HM burgers
Dinner, lazy but nice ham salad, some of the tomatoes that only arrived Wednesday have gone mouldy already :'( , but they looked so nice on arrival it would've been hard to foresee that even I'd chosen them in the shop. I have a few left and TBH lack of tomatoes is a very minor irritant compared to some

    Good morning everyone,
Happy coronation watching for all those following.
Drain saga continues - drain folk were out yesterday with very long hoses for several hours. No joy, however they are fairly sure the problem is off my boundary relating to the very old common line drain system so it's been escalated to Scottish Water last night. Unfortunately there are no manholes anywhere in what is a long lane serving 17 properties. They should be out in the next 24 to 72 hours to find the drain and investigate. Meanwhile lots of Jeyes Fluid is being used to reduce the whiff!
Pulled pork tacos with lots of sides for dinner.

I had an impromptu session of reflexology yesterday before my pedicure. I felt so relaxed afterwards. I haven't had reflexology in about 6 years!

I slept until 10.30 today and I do feel much less achy than normal, especially my legs.

I had tiger bread with marg and Marmite.

I'm not going to be watching the coronation today, I really have no interest. Lol, just checked and realised I missed it anyway. Haha.

Awake far too early so got myself off to sainsbugs early doors for me. All put away and a cuppa made ready for the start of the day’s proceedings. It’s been a very lazy day since then, got completely sucked into watching.

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel with salad and pickled gherkins for lunch. Steak, chips, grilled tomato and the end of the sugar snap peas tonight 😋
