    Good morning everyone.
    Hope your wrist improves Farway.
Tipping it down here, thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon so DS2 has headed to the dump and B&Q before it gets worse out.
DS1 & DIL-to-be are expected early afternoon to return Hector.
My printer has died, it was only a cheap one and over 5 years old so doesn't owe me anything. I mainly use it for my voluntary admin stuff. The informal agreement is I provide the kit and the group keeps me supplied with ink and paper. Will order a new one today as of course I only discovered it was broken when I needed to use it!
A fortnight ago I tried to see if some of the sprigs from a SM packet of sage would root as my garden plant had died. They have beautifully so must get them potted on over the new few days.
Either a pigs in blankets roast dinner or pork & pineapple kebabs tonight, will depend if the kids want bacon butties for lunch. If they do we'll have the PIBs (spare from Christmas) tomorrow. I have a massive cauliflower so cauli cheese will feature at some point.
  • Another much better than forecast day so a couple of loads of bedding dried on the line and had a trip to the garden centre to get some herbs and got them all planted up in the pot I had ready. I’ve also changed the bed, done some ironing and been for a swim. Really enjoyed just pottering around with the back door open 😊

Smashed avocado and scrambled eggs on toasted bagel for lunch. Balsamic chicken thigh and cherry tomato traybake tonight, with tenderstem broccoli and crusty bread. LO chicken and tomatoes to make pasta tomorrow.

Another nice day here as well maybe not so warm as yesterday but Not complaining 🙂

I hope the wrist is feeling better Farway and not the dreaded gout. It's a year since my first attack May bank holiday last year with the warmer weather I have upped my water intake as dehydration doesn't help

I started to tackle the small bedroom this morning which has become a bit of a dumping ground, got slightly side tracked by books 🙄 but I do have a charity shop pile and a rubbish one, his lordship 'helped' it's room he's not usually allowed in so one he likes to investigate when the door is opened

I've a egg glut after finding a half dozen in the back of the fridge, so egg and watercress sandwich for lunch with the rest boiled and popped back in the fridge.  LO chicken with wedges and veg for dinner

Dull start with the weather, mild enough but hardly sparkling Bank Holiday stuff

My right wrist is still useless but managing OK using left hand for most things, a bit awkward but doable

Luckily today is the youngest grandchild's birthday, she's 13 today, so I'm going over later this morning for a mini party, I expect I can manage to lift a bit of cake

That will take care of lunch, dinner I have some LO roast YS chicken which will do nicely, either with some salad or just nibbled off the bones, depending on how the day unfolds

I had a lovely weekend. We saw two films at the cinema, Missing and Evil Dead Rise. We ate at Ask on Friday and then went out to brunch on Sunday at a local cafe I haven't tried before with my brother.

I'm back to cooking for one today. Well, not cooking as I had a yoghurt and a banana for breakfast. I need to tidy up and vacuum this morning and I think I might just open a tin of soup for lunch with bread and marg.

I will actually cook tonight, but I'm not sure what yet. I fancy rice...

    Good morning everyone,

Dull but dry here this morning, Hector is broken after a very energetic weekend. Hector has a stiff leg this morning, I'm not surprised after all the rough and tumble. Didn't stop chasing a gull on the beach earlier though.
Back to my voluntary admin today, lots of number crunching to be done this week. A new printer has been ordered and should arrive by Friday. DS2 took the old one to the electrical goods recycling bit at the dump yesterday. DS2 is on holiday today, he plans to get ready to replace the current deck which the kids are taking down this weekend. At 20+ years old it's very much reached the end of it's useful life. As part of the work the main drain is being re-sited and replaced another job long overdue.
LOs for lunch and pork & pineapple kebabs with green veg and sweet potato wedges for dinner.

Cooler, greyer start to the day and a bit drizzly as I headed out to a retail park. Was ok when I got there just after opening but was absolutely heaving by the time I left a couple of hours later.

Home for lunch - houmous, carrot sticks, olives, feta, bread. Had a chilled afternoon with a bit of life admin. Sun came out 🌞

Stripped the meat off the remaining chicken thighs and used some to make pasta with tenderstem broccoli and the LO tomato/garlic sauce. There’s LO LOs…

I think we had the same weather JSK

I drove out to the bigger garden centre with my sister this morning, driving pass my nephew and family taking baby back into hospital.  After oxygen, steroids, nebuliser and a sleep she was causing havoc in the ward by teatime pushing a Walker up and down the ward. I haven't heard that she is home but as she had a appointment there tomorrow they may have kept her over.   My sister is wondering if teething isn't helping as it is only 3 weeks since the last time.

We had a cuppa and a large cheese scone in their small cake cafe, you can see them bake behind the counters which is good to see but I would hate to have to bake to a audience.

Chicken salad with new potatoes for dinner.  I made coronation chicken for tomorrow as I like it to mature, unfortunately I have no dried apricots to add to it and other than scraps for his lordship that's the chicken finished, not that he deserves any as he woke me at 6am 😡

Yesterday's mini party went well, nice to see everyone and catch up, all the little kids are now giants and teenagers.
Dull morning but sun is promised, but not doing much, especially as my wrist is still useless and unable to pick up things like teapots which is limiting of course

Lunch, could be a bacon butty
Dinner, the last of the cold roast YS chicken, maybe with HM AF chips + salad, or again just pick the meat from the bones

    Good morning everyone,
Poor baby (and parents) she is having a time of it.
Glad the party went well but hope your wrist improves Farway.
Yesterday didn't go quite as planned, the drain that is due to be replaced and re-sited is blocked. Appointment booked for tomorrow to get it cleared. I've also renewed my boiler care with the company that fitted it, much cheaper than British Gas etc. and well worth the money IMHO. Also paid my credit card bill so it's been a spendy morning so far.
More tea is needed and then back to domestics and admin before we head to my sister's for dinner this evening.
LO kebabs with salad for lunch.
