    Good morning everyone,
I need to phone the Drs today for a blood test appointment. The new system they've just introduced for repeat prescriptions across the Health Board managed by your local pharmacy are seems to be working okay as I've just had a text from Boots to say mine is ready. That should take a bit of the pressure off the surgeries.
Hector sitting today as DS2 has gone to Glasgow to look after Frank. DIL-to-be has to go to work and DS1 is away on a stag do to Benidorm. Hector has been a bit hyper so far but thankfully seems to be ready for a snooze. Hopefully calmer when he wakes or it could be a long day!
Was pleased to finish the larder cupboard yesterday, next on the hit list is the wall cupboard where I keep spices etc. though probably not today. I really need to start thinking about tomatoes etc. but the weather is still so grey that so I'll hold off for another week or so.
LO curry for lunch and usual Friday tbc for dinner.

Dull & windy, "my rain" is currently over Bournemouth, but luckily I have completed my outdoor tasks, chiropodist earlier, and collect my prescription.
My repeat is not autofill, I have to phone the chemist to prompt them, there are some who do it automatically it's just that I prefer a local one, especially as one of the items is sort of critical, and I'd hate to be left wondering if it's arriving before I run out or not

Lunch, grilled cheese on toast, I may go wild and splash some Worcester sauce on it
Dinner, it's warmed up LO today. The LO braised beef & onions, LO mash & LO cabbage

  • Ooft, very wild and windy here but combined with the warm sun made for great drying weather. Got a load dried before it turned to rain 🙃

Really productive wfh day once I got my head in gear. Finished pretty much on time and popped into town to run a couple of errands. Went to sainsburys for milk so picked up a few other bits I can’t get in Lidl as I’m doing a stock up shop there this weekend.

Not much else planned, think I’ll need to batten down the hatches…

Posh fishfinger sandwich for lunch. Made chipotle steak, new potato and red pepper hash tonight. Had with a 🍷

I'm envious of your sun JKS we just had the wind and the rain 😁

Work was interesting today 🙄 we are deploying a big system upgrade over the weekend and it came to light at lunchtime that something had been missed by another team  :# workarounds were found and grovelling in some quarters mean it is going ahead, so I'll be working on and off all weekend, mainly Sunday morning

Last of the turkey soup for lunch. Dinner was stuffed peppers from the freezer before going out to friend for the evening

I had a toasted ciabatta roll and marg with a coffee. I had a few crisps too!

I have so much frozen food at the moment so I will have to have something from the freezer for lunch, probably with whatever fresh veg I have left.

I have to stay in for my Amazon deliveries today.

Dull and a bit chilly this morning, but woke to a nice fresh bread smell because I had put an overnight loaf in the Panny. This time I tried a French one, two hours longer rise, but overnight no one cares
It has turned out looking lovely, but too warm to cut a trial slice yet awhile

Lunch will be a French loaf sarnie, was going to be salad sarnie but reading JKS fish finger sarnie post has set me thinking
Dinner, I have a boned & rolled pork lump for roasting, which I'll do, but what I'll have with it is unknown right now

    Good morning everyone,
We had the most torrential rain showers yesterday, sounded like hail at points but seems drier today.
Tesco due soon, I usually get my order on a Friday but as I was Hector sitting yesterday thought it easier to bump it until today.
DS2 and Hector are off out tonight, I'm looking forward to the sofa, Call the Midwife and a glass of wine.
Last night I baked a fillet of haddock in foil with spinach, peas and spring onion. Had it with a baked spud and it was very tasty. Both lunch and dinner are tbc, though dinner will involve chicken thighs and courgette so probably a traybake of some description.
  • Another windy with sun on and off day. Decided late morning it was worth putting a wash on, which was pretty much dry when I got it in.

Pottering and a few errands today. Had to replace my toaster after it started only toasting one side of each slice 😂. So a quick trip to Argos. Also did a bit of a stock up shop at Lidl.

Smoked mackerel pate and toast (double toasted!) with some cherry tomatoes for lunch. Leek and mushroom omelette, sweet potato fries and baked beans tonight 😋

I was working on and Off this morning and will be doing so tomorrow morning, hopefully finished by tomorrow lunchtime

After lunch I drove out to the farm shop for a few bits and home via Sainsbury for the bits I couldn't get there. I remembered why I usually avoid going there and driving through the town on a Saturday  :s I did pick up a YS chicken which was already on offer it has tomorrow date on so that will be dinner tomorrow and several days next week 😁  menu plan was rejigged when I got home.

Bagel and cream cheese with the last of the cucumber for lunch. A sticky pork dish with SF vegetables and soba noodles for dinner with a lunch size portion of LO for lunch tomorrow in case work overruns

Today was supposed to be the sunny day this week, but it's drizzle at the start of Summer Time, hope it brightens a bit later just to warm up the conservatory for a bit of potting on and sow last of the tomato seeds, I have enough really but my Asda subbed tomatoes were a sweet plum cherry type, so have to try and see it they come true

Yesterday's overnight French loaf turned out lovely and risen, soft and yummy.
And MSE because only need 400g of flour not 500 but produced same physical size loaf. Just too soft to cut with an ordinary bread knife, but luckily I have an electric one so can cut without squashing the loaf

Lunch, cold roast pork slices in a sarnie, I've run out of apple sauce so maybe with HM plum chutney?
Dinner, cold roast pork, with nuked baked spud, maybe with a cheesy bean filling, plus salad bits

Good news yesterday, my granddaughter came second in the regional final of Young Horticulturist of the Year, held at RHS Rosemont, Devon, £100 prize plus kudos & certificate, turning into an eventful year for her with Chelsea rapidly coming up near end of May
