Farway If you want to stick with the essentials curry sauce why not do the same as the chilli and add baked beans, in this case blended to a puree. This should give a much milder taste but still have a decent consistency. I'd try 1/2 a tin first and take from there. Surplus sauce will freeze fine.

I'm the opposite and always find curry/chilli sauces I buy far too mild. I did use a jar of curry sauce the other day for my curry. I did used to make a curry sauce from scratch, but fell out of the habit. I should do it again as it isn't that difficult.

For lunch I made a copy of a pasta dish I had in a restaurant with broccoli, onion and strips of vegan bacon in a creamy sauce. It had mushrooms as well in the restaurant but I didn't have any. It came out quite nice, but it needed more flavouring. I have leftovers for tomorrow so I will try and jazz it up more.

I then had a pot of jelly after seeing a discussion about jelly on here!:)

  • Cold and rainy here. Struggling to get warm this evening but I feel exhausted too so hope I’m not coming down with something…

I use curry pastes and then add tomatoes and/or yoghurt. Mostly use Thai ones though which just need a bit of coconut milk (or more for the curry wimps 😉).

I had a noodle salad with the LO Chinese chicken and raw carrot and sugar snaps for lunch today. It was from a lunchbox as I have worked in 3 different locations today. Just had chargrilled tuna steak with half a pouch of Mediterranean lentils, which I added spinach and sun dried tomatoes to.

I was going to suggest yoghurt to cool down the curry 🙂

Drizzling here this morning than just a grey day 😐 Busy work day with a system failure at 4.30pm so it was 6pm before we finished.if it had only waited until after 5pm then our American colleagues would have got to deal with it 🙄

pear, blue cheese, chicory and walnut salad for lunch.  Dinner was a YS vegan pizza which has been taking freezer space up for awhile, only £1 instead of near.y £5 and very tasty 😋 I added a little more veg and some non vegan cheese 😁

I had crumpets and marg, mango chunks and a cup of green tea. I was still hungry so I had some crisps.

I have my leftover pasta for lunch. I think I might make that tomato and onion soup I wanted to make the other day.

Frosty & sunny start for the day, looking pleasant with clear blue sky

Thanks to everyone for cooling curry suggestions, I'll give the yoghurt idea a go first because I usually have yoghurt in

However, meals today are fresh ingredients, all use up LOs have been used up, so I can now make some more LO

Lunch, last stale crust toasted with grilled cheese & sliced shrivelling tomato topping
Dinner, push boat out, sirloin steak, HM AF chips, fried broken eggs  [grr, Asda :s ], and nuked fresh mushrooms

    Good afternoon everyone,
Grey, drizzling and cold here today. DS2 headed to his office first thing so a good chance to get glasses washed etc. for the weekend. Hector has been "helping" me tidy the kitchen....
Need to finalise tomorrow's Tesco order and then I think it will be feet up for a bit as I've been awake since before 5am.
LO traybake for lunch and sausage, beans, mushrooms and oven chips for dinner.
  • Dry and bright here but so cold again.

An up and down office day, some good stuff, some annoying stuff but that’s often the way. One more day to go and I’m on a course so can avoid some of the nonsense.

More spicy parsnip soup for lunch with a toasted pitta. Just had a throw it all in potato, onion, chorizo and halloumi traybake with some roasted peppers from a jar and a rocket salad.

Normal work day with just a couple of unplanned meetings

Being organised I prepped dinner lunchtime, I don't know why I don't do it more often 🤔

lunch was a repeat of yesterday, pear, chicory, walnut and blue cheese salad.  Aubergine and courgette stuffed with lamb mince, feta cheese and toasted pinenuts with lots of veg in the mince.  I cooked the meat and veg in the pressure cooker lunchtime and finished off tonight.  There are LOs of the aubergine and courgette plus a portion of the mince which may end up in the freezer as shepherds pie
