  • Bit damp first thing and there’s been a few showers during the day but it was a lovely afternoon/early evening driving home. Fairly productive office day done.

Portion of the spiced parsnip soup and a toasted pitta for lunch. Pasta puttanesca tonight with sugar snap peas. There’s LO pasta 🙃

Just settled down to new series of Unforgotten.

I hope you're not too sore after the physio Caronc 🙂 I was saying to my sister that living in the SE can be expensive but at least our winters aren't so bad as some parts of the uk so our heating doesn't need to be on so much.  I know she worries about my nephews heating bill because of the baby's health she's still on medication for her lungs their heating is on more than they can afford and his OH is still on maternity leave for another month or so  :/

It was a frosty start here as well but clearing by 8ish.  Lunch was a portion of leek and potato soup from the freezer.  Dinner LO chicken curry and rice

  • I just had toasted crumpets with marg and marmalade and a cup of coffee. I am listening to Chris Moyles and Pedro Pascal is going to be on there and I texted my brother as he likes the TV shows he is in. I didn't realise it was so early as I wouldn't have texted him at this time. The joys of living with someone who does shift work!

I made the curry yesterday so I have leftovers for lunch. I'm feeling hungry again. I am going to make an Indian onion salad to go with the curry. I meant to order some naan bread in my shopping, but I forgot.

I need to use my trampoline today as I want to do some more exercise. It will have the added benefit of warming me up!

Sunny & cold again, looks nice from indoors

Must be Curry Week on CFO :) , I'm another one joining today, using my LO roast chicken and a jar of Lloyd Grossman Korma, must have been on offer because I've just checked & it's now £3 so very unlikely I paid that and no matter how wonderful it tastes it will not be a repeat buy
Actually, on second thoughts, it would be wiser to use my Essentials cheapo curry sauce @ 28P, so I can judge about repeat ordering next week and save the posh £3 one for another day

Lunch, more eggs, this time I'll try fried bread, sort of, with a couple of fried eggs on top
Dinner, as mentioned, HM chicken curry and rice, maybe flash up the new rice cooker or use up the RM stuff?

    Good morning everyone,
Cloudy last night so no chance of seeing the lights, must have cleared overnight as frosty this morning.
As expected I'm sore and bruised after yesterday's physio. It's worth it though. My sis and nephew are coming for dinner so made ragu yesterday for a pasta bake. Hopefully moving easier tomorrow as I need to try and discreetly get the house organised for DS2's surprise 30th do on Saturday! LO salmon in a wrap for lunch.
  • Back to cold, grey and rainy here. Have had to have a bit of heating on during the day but have washed some sheets to make the most of it, doesn’t look like line drying weather for a while 🙄

LO pasta for lunch and I’ve just had a posh fishfinger sandwich for early tea. Swimming later 🏊‍♀️

good luck in keeping the secret Caronc  :)  many years ago we were arranging a surprise 80 for mum when she ended up in hospital a couple of weeks before, she told the nurses she needed to be home as we were arranging a surprise birthday for her 😁 unfortunately she was still in hospital so it had to be cancelled 😞

Today was very much like yesterday typical work day 🤨

lunch was a portion of minestrone from the freezer. LO ginger beer pork with veg for dinner I'll have to cook tomorrow or raid the freezer 🤔

It is rainy and chilly here.

I had crumpets with Marmite and a Yogi Chai tea for breakfast.

I am going to batch cook a pasta later for today and tomorrow.

    Good morning everyone,
So far so good Brambling, he thinks the family are coming round for a takeaway after he's been for a pint with his brother and cousin but not that 10 of his mates are pitching up. While the boys are at the pub my sis, DIL-to-be and ! will get set up.
Cloudy here today and marginally milder.
Need to be a bit of subtle kitchen tidying/decluttering in advance of Saturday's do. Thankfully we are going for the "beige buffet" option catering wise which has been ordered from Costco so no cooking to worry about.
The pasta bake was very good but I got carried away size wise so lots LO. We'll have some for lunch today and I'll freeze the rest. Chicken, pea and rice traybake for dinner.

Dull here as well, milder though and spits of rain in the wind when I went out earlier to Home Bargains, mainly for compost but checked the YS shelf, nothing for me there, but did buy detergent & dishwasher tablets, marginally cheaper than the ones I had on next weeks Asda list so turned into MSE trip :)

The Essential curry sauce yesterday is way too hot for me :o , supposed to be mild, and I've seen reviews saying it's not hot enough, I need a wimp strength curry, the labelling guide would be half a pale pink chilli.
I'm trying to get way from buying ready-made MFO curry meals, but CBA to make my own using spices etc but paying over a pound for a jar of curry sauce is just not sense when I can buy an RM curry for not much more

And to add to my woes, found three eggs in my new pack are cracked / broken :'( . What makes it worse is for once I never checked at the door when they were delivered, mostly I do but failed this time.

I think they may be useable & not "off" so it's eggs again for lunch

Dinner, the LO milder added beans chilli, was going to be with nuked LO surplus rice from last night, but reading about the possibility of tum toxins lurking in cooked rice has changed my mind about the LO rice with my often delicate tum I'm thinking it's best not to risk it, so I'll have the LO chilli in a nuked baked spud instead
