I had mashed avocado on wholemeal toast and a cup of hot chocolate just now.
I have these vegan "chicken" breasts that I quite liked and I was going to do one in the air fryer with a baked potato and have it with salad and sweetcorn.
I might pop to Aldi later and walk my dog around the park. It is dull, but not raining at least.0 -
Very nice social day today. Ran a couple of errands this morning so got a bit of fresh air and exercise before going out for lunch. Came home for a bit and didn’t do very much before out to the pictures. Lunch was very filling so had a hot cross bun, a plum, a satsuma and some cheese with a cuppa when I got in this evening.
Has definitely turned colder 🥶
Are you still recovering from the party, caronc?

It's been a slow pottering day for me, I had a random WhatsApp ping at 1am this morning which woke me I deleted without opening as I didn't recognise the person but then had problems going back to sleep as my tinnitus was very noisy. The doctor is going to arrange a appointment with the ENT specialist but has warned it will be a long wait
I split a ciabatta roll and made a couple of dents in it where I added a couple of eggs and a sprinkle of cheese and AF it 😋 Chicken, chorizo, fennel, tomato, pepper and new potato tray bake for dinner with runner beans and broccoli there are LOs of courseLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Dull, grey & cold so just hot drinks sort of day, forecast to be even colder with maybe a spot of snow tomorrow, think I'll have a rummage in the freezer for some stew / casserole fodder I can get in low oven tomorrow morningLunch today, probably ham & tomato rollDinner, use up, toast, with ham & grilled cheese topped with fried eggs and maybe beans on the sideEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Didn't make on to post yesterday, DS2's party went very well but I'm getting far too old to stay up half the night and I'm still shattered today! Bar one person who was poorly everyone expected turned up. Poor Hector was broken yesterday, two parties in one day completely tired him out. All the pooches were good though, a bit of initial excitement which they ran off in the garden and then calmed down. The buffet food and cake from Costco were excellent, I would definitely get from there again. We over catered though so I need to go through the fridge today and get bits packed for the freezer.
LO sandwiches for lunch and then dal, rice and naan for dinner. I definitely need lots of veg after a beige weekend so will probably cook some spinach to have with the dal.0 -
Sounds like a good party, caronc!Productive office day, just never seem to get to the bottom of the to do list…
More spicy parsnip soup and a toasted pitta for lunch. Pasta tonight with bacon, mushrooms, peas, rosemary and a cream cheese and pesto sauce. LOs for tomorrow 🙃
Little bit of voluntary admin tonight but mostly watching telly under a blanket, it’s cold again! 🥶0 -
Had your DS cottoned on to the surprise Caronc or was it a shock?
There was a definite drop in temperature this afternoon from when I went out for milk lunchtime, the forecast is still for sleet / snow tomorrow and Wednesday.Lunch was a salmon salad, when the oven was on yesterday I cooked a couple of YS salmon portions with chilli, lemon grass and a little garlic in a parchment bag.I wasn't that hungry tonight so just snacked on a chicken thigh from the LO traybake. Tomorrow will be a rinse and repeat of salmon and chickenLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
It felt very cold yesterday, but it doesn't feel as bad to me today. I haven't been out yet, though, only to the garden.
I had mashed avocado on toast this morning. My last avocado, they were all perfect which is unusual. I had a cup of tea too.2025 GOALS

Snow falling as I got up this morning
, enough to bring next door's kids out into the garden & running about, as you do when ten years old and hardly ever see snow.
It never settled and weak sun now out. More snow due sometime but being March and Hampshire not expecting it to be much of a problem TBH, as long as tomorrow morning's Asda delivery can get through I'm fineHad usual "running out of bits" message from Asda, but half expected regarding fresh tomatoes so again, no problemLuckily I did remember to get some stewing steak out of the freezer yesterday, so for once the CFO meal will match the weather, beef casserole will be going in later today, to warm the kitchen up at the sameNot sure If I'll add some dumplings or not, see how I feel once I'm under a heated throw watching the box. I do have a couple of LO poppadums, so maybe?Lunch, last crust, toasted with grilled cheese topping. I have found I really like HP fruity sauce, which is a nuisance 'cos it's expensive and no obvious alternatives so far.Dinner, as mentioned, beef casseroleEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
It was a very good party JKS.Brambling, he says he had suspected something was up but thought it might be a surprise family dinner rather than the planned takeaway. He really wasn't expecting a party with his mates here but was very pleased.
No snow here though a chilly -4C first thing. We have snow forecast for Thursday/Friday but probably will get sleet instead, being so close to the coast we seldom get much proper snow.
Last of the Costco sandwiches for lunch. I popped sausage rolls (probably the best bought ones I've tasted in many years) and a pack of veg pakora in the freezer yesterday. There are some other bits that we froze after purchase so some beige food on the cards over coming months.
My sis and nephew are coming for dinner - lamb casserole and braised lentils. I prepped all the veg yesterday just need to get my finger out and start cooking. More tea needed first though.
