  • Glad the party went well.

Cold here today but none of the forecast snow/hail/ice, was lovely and sunny this afternoon. The day started with a tedious meeting but after that I got some more of my to-do list done (in fact, I got a few bits done during it 🤫)

LO bacon and mushroom pasta with some of the bag of rocket for lunch. Bagged rocket lasts much longer than other salads I find. Just had early tea of beans on toast. I expect there’ll be a hot cross bun with my cuppa after swimming…

food was a repeat of yesterday's salmon salad for lunch and LO chicken tray bake for dinner

    Good morning everyone,
Hope your review goes well Brambling.
Unfortunately DIL-to-be tested positive for COVID and of course we were all together at the weekend! Hopefully not shared but it's put the plans for DS2 actual birthday this weekend up in the air. Thankfully she's not feeling too unwell so far.
Still below freezing here but it's lovely and bright out.
LOs for lunch, the casserole and lentils were well received but I made loads. We're well pulsed this week as it JO's bejewelled pork with rice & beans for dinner.

Snow here this morning, very localised it seems, it's rain over my daughter's New Forest way

The Asda delivery got through without any problems, couple of no shows [potted herbs again], and unsuitable sub of pork loins in place of chops, so sent them back. I don't mind loins, but the reviews are not glowing and at just over 50p each I doubt I'd be impressed, far easier to just reject on the door step

The other items are all fine, so all set for another few weeks. Fridge is bursting again.
I had a get ready to book slot for Easter message, blimey, snow outside and now needing to book an Easter slot. Worlds' gone mad

Hope the COVID miss you all Caron but this strain seems quite mild to most from what I hear

Lunch, last of the gammon joint in some rolls, with sliced fresh tomato
Dinner, unsure but probably take easy option of nuking LO beef stew

Hope she feels better soon Caronc. It wasn't that bad for me back in January.

I have been eating non-stop today as it feels so cold! We had a little bit of snow that didn't settle this morning and then just rain on and off since then.

I have had a big smoothie, some crisps and a massive bowl of leftover lentil soup today.

  • A day of two long meetings but dragged myself out in the snow/slush to swim this evening before I seized up 😅

On a mission to use things up before going away at the weekend so Moroccan carrot couscous with the end of the rocket for lunch. Prawn and cabbage egg fried rice tonight (last of the cabbage, spring onions and half a carrot gone).

Really ready for spring to come back!

We had about 1cm of snow this morning which hadn't settled on the roads, all was gone before lunch washed away by the rain. It was cold today and I begrudgingly put the heating on at lunchtime as I reached the four layers but still cold level 🙂

Lunch was minestrone soup from the freezer.  Dinner bubble and squeak with a poached egg and a couple of rashers of bacon

Grey and drizzle, very gloomy looking day outside so far, but I had an overnight loaf in the Panny so at least it smells nice & warm indoors

Lunch, fresh loaf salady sarnie, there was lettuce, toms & cuc in yesterday's delivery so fresh everything
Out to a volunteer meeting this afternoon, so dinner will be nuked LOs stew, but looking at your bubble & S etc Brambling I may have to cross the border on a raiding party ;)

    Rain, rain, rain here.

I just had a cup of biscuit tea with soya milk and Marmite and marg on toast. I annoyingly opened soya milk when I had opened almond milk already so I have to make sure I use them both up.

I am going to make ratatouille later (with tinned tomatoes) and houmous (without tahini as I don't like it) to make sure I have easy leftovers to eat in the fridge.

For lunch I am having the other "chicken" cutlet with lettuce, ketchup and mustard in a toasted pitta or two. I feel like haven't had any fresh tomatoes in ages. Bananas were sold out in Tesco too.

    Good morning everyone,
Bitterly cold here but no snow yet though it's forecast for later and the sky is certainly looking as though there's manky weather on the way.
Admin bits to do today and I want to top up the indoor log stack. LOs for lunch and LOs again tonight in the form of pasta bake from the freezer.
