Lovely news, Brambling. Hope you enjoyed lunch.
Yep, sunny and mild here too 🌞. Got a load dry on the line and did some tidying up in the garden, really hope spring is on it’s way!

I’ve hoovered and mopped where needed, given the bathroom a quick going over, been for a swim and ironed the few bits that needed it off the line. Always feel more motivated when the sun is out…

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch after swimming. Roast chicken, roast potatoes and carrots, broccoli and green beans plus real gravy tonight 😋. Made Thai butternut squash soup whilst cooking dinner so feeling very organised.

Well that sun didn't last long, dull again this morning, mild though. It really was Spring like yesterday, even spotted my new hyacinths peeking above the compost

Restless night for some reason, so feeling a bit shattered this morning but nothing needing doing so a lazy day ahead I think, if sun ever gets out I may just do a spot of garden pottering

Lunch, the last of the salmon trimmings, not so much trimmings as mushy gloop :o , OK for my sarnie but tough if wanted as pieces for something. I'll have in a sarnie with cheese spread

Dinner, something from the freezer, could be RM spag bol or a pizza, depends on how I feel, none of which will require much effort from me

    Good morning everyone,
Congratulations to your nephew and his OH Brambling.
Dreich here this morning with a steady drizzle.
I'm off out to meet friends for lunch and a catch up at a local bar. Don't why I'm bothering to straighten my hair, with the dampness by the time I get there it will be curly again!
DS2 is making dal tonight, depending on what I have for lunch I may or may not have some.

That wasn't a very big dinner!

  • I am out in London tonight for a meal. I had two slices of toast and celery sticks with a mini pot of houmous and a cup of coffee for brunch as I slept in late.

I will only have a smoothie this afternoon before I go out as we are eating early so I want to make sure I'm hungry.

  • Think it was a nice weather day here, was in the office where I hardly see daylight. It was certainly light earlier and later in the day, and the heating hasn’t been on much 🙃

Portion of the Thai butternut squash soup with a toasted pitta for lunch. Stripped all the remaining meat from the chicken this evening - one portion in the freezer, one in the fridge for later in the week (does anyone remember rubber chicken?), and made creamy chicken and mushroom pasta to eat tonight with green beans. There is LO pasta…

Grey but mild & slightly misty hardly inspiring & uplifting looking outside

Good timing on the rice cooker Brambling, worked well I assume?

Message from Asda for tomorrow delivery, they've run out of some items, eggs no surprise, now it's also fresh tomatoes, heard that on radio this morning, bad weather in Southern Spain & Morocco apparently and because supermarkets would not pay enough to cover cost of UK production with energy no UK producer planted any salad items for this year :(
Back to eating in season as we used to do

Hoping sun at least comes out a bit, so I can pot on my Cape primroses in a sunshine & not gloom

Lunch, with return to 1950s eating in season, likely to be a Pilchard & tomato paste sarnie. I opened a jar the other day because I just fancied it, so better use it now it's open
Dinner, last of the LO HM beef curry, maybe with rice if I think of it in time

Asda delivery first thing tomorrow, then it's bye bye paste sarnie, hello sirloin steak :)

    Good morning everyone,
Dry but grey here this morning, noticeable cooler.
I had a lovely catch up with the "girls" yesterday but I'm tired today, clearly sitting and nattering is hard work! I need to give myself a shake though as my "to do" is quite long most of which does actually need doing today as I'm having a visitor for lunch tomorrow.
Small portion of dal and rice last night as had been out for lunch which was a delicious pastrami & dill pickle sandwich with a few chips on the side.
Tonight I'm turning a batch of herby sausage meat stuffing I made at Christmas into meatballs. We'll have those with pasta and tomato sauce. Will also make a pot of chicken rice soup and make the base for a shepherd's pie to use up Sunday's LO lamb.
