Good morning everyone,
Grey and chilly here this morning.
Off for my battering at physio at lunchtime and then a quiet afternoon I think.
BLT for lunch and tonight it's the rest of the duck tonight with veg and noodles in a spicy broth. Will probably add a soft boiled egg.0 -
Woke up 15 minutes before I should have been leaving the house this morning so that threw my day out a bit 🙃. Actually had a good day in the office, left and got home in the light.
Last portion of the celery and Stilton soup from the freezer with a bread roll for lunch. Beetroot burger in brioche bun with avocado and sun dried tomatoes, HM sweet potato fries, rocket salad tonight. Not majorly excited by the beetroot burgers but they’ve both gone now. I’d rather have a real burger for a meat eating day and find another veggie meal tbh 😊0 -
I use to make black bean burgers JKS although I hadn't fora couple of years and have no idea where I got the recipe from 🤔
It's been a really quiet day at work, I know it is half term here but most of our emails etc are overseas, I'm not complaining 😁 although the boss did send a email to group email to check it was working.
Easy day food wise lunch was a smoke salmon and cream cheese sandwich with a mug of soup. LO lamb etc from yesterdayLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone.
I'm a fan of these burgers though usually use black or pinto beans as I'm not keen on kidney beans so tend not to have them in the cupboard Budget Carrot, Cumin and Kidney Bean Burger Recipe - Great British Chefs . They work well with chickpeas too.
Grey and "hanging" there kind of day here.
As I expected I'm very sore, bruised and stiff after another brutal physio session. However, yesterday I could feel and the physio agreed that the affected area is more flexible and stretching better. Back again in two weeks and then we'll stretch it to three weeks and see how it goes.
Not planning anything much today, I've to wait until tomorrow before resuming the exercises. Duck carcass and trimmings have been popped in the slow cooker for stock.
Cottage cheese salad for lunch. LO root veg mash from Sunday with sausages, peas and onion gravy.0 -
Sunny day here, and it's warm in the sun as well, all goodNot a big burger[of any sort] fan, mainly because of what can be hidden in there. But I have recently taken to making my own meat ones using only minced meat, sometimes with diced onion, but they tend to fall to bits when I do that, and I don't want to add egg, so I'd rather omit the onion.I've never had HM veg burgers but the commercial ones I've tried seem "cardboardy" to me, or overdosed with spices to presumably give some flavourI may need some of your physio Caron, no idea how, but I seem to have "pulled" my back, it's not been like this for a while, but it's certainly not down to hard work or heavy lifting! Co codamol consumed and will settle down with YouTube & hot chocolate later onLunch, last stale toasted slice, with grilled cheese & brown sauce, actual HP for a change & blow the expenseDinner, more of the cold roast pork, HM coleslaw & salad bits, but this time with baked / nuked spudHope to have a mooch around Home Bargains tomorrow morning, I need some grow bags and check on any lurking YS itemsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Ah yes, the Jack Monroe ones are on my list to try making - I have kidney beans so will try with those first of all. The bought beetroot ones were just a bit too “wet” for me.
WFH day, mostly completed a tedious task with very few interruptions. Weather forecast was for spring like sunshine, unfortunately it was very misty for a long time and didn’t get that warm once it had burnt off…so, there’s washing on the airer in front of the radiator 🙄
Had LO pasta from the other night for lunch, with some of the bag of rocket. Early pre-swim tea of beans with toast as usual this evening. There might be a crumpet with a cuppa when I get in 😉0 -
I hope the back is a little easier Farway, make sure you find someone to lug the grow bags for you 🙂
It was a lovely mild day, after a foggy start, when pottering in the garden lunchtime I saw the greenhouse window had opened 🙂
work was quiet again so with the threat of a big piece of work due tomorrow our manager told us to finish at 4.15pm as it would pay at least 6pm the rest of the week. At least a lot of the little jobs have been done even if I avoided my end of year review paperwork
Foodwise was a rinse and repeat mug of soup for lunch and the last of the lamb and LOs for dinner, even through it was a very small half leg it would have lasted longer if i hadn't been picking at it 😋Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
It was quite nice and sunny here yesterday, but much colder in the shade. We walked to a closing down Army clothing store and my husband bought a few things and then we went home to drop off the bags and went to lunch. We wanted to go to a local cafe that is always too busy or not open and we finally got in, but after seeing the menu we decided to leave. Nothing particularly interesting and overpriced IMO. We went to a pub nearby and had lunch there instead. I think it was a Wetherspoons, but seemed more posh as I had had read in the paper that it was recently refurbished.
I made myself stuffed pitta breads in the evening.
Today I have just had toast and Marmite. My dog is back from the kennel today and the house is almost back to normal after being painted. I just need to deep clean one room and put the furniture back in place. I got a pasta bowl from Aldi the other day that I might have for lunch with whatever salady bits I have in the fridge.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Hope your back has eased today Farway
It was raining first thing but drying up now.
I'm still very sore but need to get moving and back to the exercises today. There's some housework needing done but will see how I get on.
Cottage cheese salad for lunch and JO's One Pan Salmon in a bag for dinner.0 -
Sunshine this morning, nice & warm in itMy back had eased after a night's kip, so into town & Home Bargains for grow bags. Quite light actually, so not a struggle to lift them thankfully, and they had square plant tubs I have been looking for, so grabbed them as wellPlus YS bacon medallions and some baking spudsBack home for lunch, the YS bacon in a BLT sarnie, using fresh HM overnight loaf.Followed by slice of bread & posh wild strawberry jam 'cos the bread was so tasty and freshDinner, last of the cold roast pork, that small joint has done me proud this week. With nuked baked spud, HM coleslaw + bit of saladBrambling, I've found Wetherspoons can be very good, or very bad, it's hit & miss and can't judge books by the cover, but the meals are reasonable for the price, I suspect we've all had much worse at twice the priceEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
