Very frosty morning, but sunny & blue sky, definitely a car scraping morning for those working

W8rose delivery arrived, intact, on time and as ordered.

But I had to send the on offer Gammon back, it turned up at over fifteen quid despite 25% offer, :o guide price was about a tenner. Although I can afford it, I think it's a bit OTT for a lump of meat while CFO, maybe if it were Easter or such like, then possibly
Beginning to wish I'd bought the pre packed sirloins I spotted on offer in Morries yesterday, about £7 but varied on weight & size of course.

Now I have a quandary, crumpets with posh jam or HM lamb burger + mint sauce for lunch? Being a cold day, the burger is just ahead
Same problem with dinner now, HM lamb burger, HM AF chips + salad [HM coleslaw, yummy] OR posh breaded cod fillets & HM AF chips?

Seeing the slicer / mandolin has reminded me, I have one, with slicing guard for holding the food in, with slot in blades that dice while slicing. Slice & dice in one go I suppose ;)
I'm going to get it out for the coleslaw, normally I use a grater & slice the cabbage with a knife but time to try something different

  • Another lovely sunny day but cold, annoyingly wfh so had to have the heating on a bit 😬

Steady day, got everything done I needed to including a bit of life admin.

LO chorizo and broccoli pasta for lunch. Just had early tea of beans with toast as I am swimming later. There’ll probably be a snack with a cuppa later 😉
  • I'm feeling cold even though the heating is on. I need to get a jumper.

I had a smoothie for breakfast, banana, raspberries, black berries and spinach. It didn't fill me up so my second breakfast is a roll with crunchy PB.

I am going to try and finish this book and I will make myself some green tea as well as getting a jumper.

Hard frost but sun's out & sky is blue.
I may get out in the garden later, have to get the garden waste wheelie bin around the front for collection on Friday, so may as well do it in the sunshine and lob a few dead plants in once there

The lamb mince from W8rose makes lovely burgers, so more of them today for dinner

Lunch, probably cheese & sliced fresh onion for lunch, but I'll use a knife to slice, quicker for one sarnie TBH

Dinner, another lamb burger, with HM AF chips & maybe side salad + LO HM coleslaw

The slicer / shredder worked well for the coleslaw, and used it for my HM chips.
But although it worked for chips they are more the French Fries size so not really for me, I prefer the rustic cut size [AKA greedy guts]

    Good morning everyone,
Dry here just now but blowy, it's to turn wet and stormy later.
Domestic bits today and I must arrange a hair cut.
Last of the soup for lunch and JO's gingery mince in black bean sauce tonight.

It was my youngest nephew's birthday yesterday and he wanted a Chinese takeaway, it may have been his birthday but baby was centre of attention  <3 she does love her uncle  :) she was in hospital last week but just avoided the ventilator this time and a trip to Southampton and was full of beans last night she bounces back so quickly whilst the adults take longer to recover

unfortunately the Chinese meant I was looking for indigestion tablets in the middle of the night for heart burn 🔥   :| so was feeling a little off today.  I sat down at 6pm and dozed off, I was aware of the tv and the cat but dozed until nearly 8pm when I woke stiff and with bad tinnitus which doesn't want to go  :/  I'm not a person to take naps and a long one has left me out of sorts, decided going to bed then would be a bad idea as I know I would be up in the early hours so I'm vegging out in front of the TV watching rubbish

lunch was gammon with bubble and squeak using LO mash and kale.  Dinner after my sleep was toast and marmalade

  • Long day today in the middle of what is turning into a long week 🙄

Another lovely bright day but heavy frost to scrape off the windscreen this morning 🥶. Spent the day in two meetings so lunch was a very quick mug of magic soup and a roll. Made myself go swimming even though I didn’t feel like it and wasn’t long home before I needed to go back out. Made a gnocchi, mushroom, spinach, Stilton and walnut creation when I got in.

    We’re over the hump!

Dull & grey & slightly damp morning for once, at least it will have watered in rudbeckia I planted at the weekend

Nothing planned for the day or stuff to catch up with so may get on with some Family History looking for the missing rellies, But  usually finish up down rabbit holes & distracted

Lunch, last of the lamb mince as a burger
Dinner,W8rose posh cod fillet in crumbs, with HM AF chips and probably frozen peas

  • Ooh, I got marmalade in my shopping Brambling so I think I will have toast and marmalade too. I've only had water with a red grapefruit squeezed into it so far today.

    Good morning everyone,
After a very stormy and wet afternoon and evening later on the cloud cleared and the temperatures dropped to just above freezing. DS2 said there were some icy patches underfoot when he walked Hector early. Cloudy but dry now, the wind is bitter.
I need to finalise my Tesco order and do some admin then I'll see what the day brings.
Salady bits for lunch and cheesy, chilli meatballs with pasta and HM tomato sauce for dinner.
