    Good afternoon everyone,
The sun was out earlier but it's grey and looking like rain now.
Not long back from the hairdressers, my first cut in over a year now back to a jaw length tapered bob.
Pooch sitting for my sister's dog overnight, he due to arrive soon and then the mayhem will begin!
Cooked a chicken & veg stew last night so LOs of that for lunch. Pork fajitas for dinner.
  • Not much cooking here today as been out for afternoon tea and the cinema.

    What did you see, Wednesday?

Had a late breakfast of scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast. Then walked to do a smallish grocery shop before spending the afternoon and evening sitting down and eating 😉

I saw the new Puss in Boots. Very cute!

Catch up morning for me and I popped into town to pickup something and my free loaf of bread from my M & S smarts card.  I was led astray by the new charity shop where our old post office was and picked up some books from authors I like 🙂.  They had so many cookery books there but having succumbed to a new one recently by Nisha Katona I walked away, luckily I only put a hour on the car so no time to browse.  Having brought my new cook book I had to smile as my Amazon 'suggestion' section included fire extinguishers  :D

Lunch was the last of the tuna Mayo in a sandwich.  Dinner sweet and sour turkey breast with veggies and noodles

Dull but mild morning, at least the frost has gone, and my heating has stopped cutting in so must be generally warmer, may get out there later and attack the buddleia at the front

I have some rolls to use up, so it's cheese or open tin of meaty Spam like stuff in side a couple of those

A fish and chip shop near me does a vegan version of spam in batter. I tried it the other day. I haven't had spam since I was about 11 so I couldn't say if it tasted like it  but my husband said it did.
Years since I've had Spam type fritter, CBA to make my own, but now I have a need for some.
Just checked, Iceland sell frozen ready-made ones, but the reviews are poor so maybe not buy there

Brambling, I keep forgetting to look on my Sparks card, only time I remembered it was free bar of choc, then my Sparks card got unlinked somehow
Just checked, my offers are money off cinema & win a car draw, I feel robbed :'(

Lazy food day ahead, I have cold LO roast pork, but I'll leave that for tomorrow
Lunch, last of the rolls, with cheese & tom inside
I have half a HM loaf to use up, so it's cheesy beans on toast for dinner, with sautéed use up mushrooms and maybe grilled tomato

  • Oh yes, spam fritter. I couldn't think what the name of it was yesterday. I used to really like banana fritters.

I haven't had anything to eat yet. I had a lie-in today, lovely!

    Good morning everyone,
Peace has returned, my sis has collected her pooch and DS2 has taken Hector for a walk. It is good fun having them both here, they just play and play, but exhausting. My says Ari usually crashes for hours when he comes back from staying here. Hector's "batteries" seem to be on instant recharge!
Cloudy and chilly here today. Usual Sunday kitchen potter and get some food prep done. I'm back to physio tomorrow and know I won't feel like doing much afterwards so will get some meals organised today. I've a duck defrosted that we'll have it roasted today and with noodles tomorrow. LO fajitas for lunch.
  • Another chilled day. Been for a swim, changed the bed and got a load of washing mostly line dried but other than that, quite a lot of sofa and telly 😊

Had the second half of the lentil pouch with added spinach and sun dried tomatoes plus a fried egg on top for lunch. Creamy sausage, leek and mushroom pasta with broccoli tonight. Oh, and there’s a mini cheesecake LO from the afternoon tea yesterday that I will have for pudding shortly 😋

There was the car and cinema tickets as well  Farway but this time there were 4 or 5 offers from the food hall but I only used my free loaf and 40p off apples as I didn't need the other stuff which included £1 off  £7 on fresh fish, there's enough fish in my freezer to use

it's been a drizzling day here, his lordship has come in damp a couple of times before deciding to go to bed for the afternoon.  He was sulking as I shut him out my bedroom to go through the stuff stored in the bed (I have a lift up bed with storage in the base) I managed to sort a couple of bags for charity and another to try on stuff later and make a decision then

lunch was a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich, not feeling a 100% at Christmas I put my smoked salmon in the freezer 🙂 I pulled out a small half leg of lamb from the freezer as well for dinner brought last Easter when they had a third off 😁 I didn't fancy a roast dinner so found a 'Lebanese' recipe which marinaded the lamb in various things all found in my cupboard 🤨 including the last of my pomegranate molasses.  I also roasted aubergine and courgette when the oven was on and going with a fusion menu made miso aubergine.  All served with jewelled couscous, tenderstem broccoli and French beans.  Plenty of LOs for next week as well a batch of nannas magic soup made for lunches

I'm now catching up on the Great Pottery Throw down with a cuppa

Hoping for a bit of sun today, but none just yet.

Brambling, most odd about my Sparks card, no other offers, I wonder if it's because I've not used it for a bit? W8rose this week offer were useless for me, not that I need anything so not a loss
The only ones I could take advantage of are Iceland over 60 offers on Tuesdays, but Tuesdays are not ideal for me, and I have never got the Asda Rewards Star things sorted out, so cursed all round and destined to pay full whack for everything at the moment :'( , assuming it's in stock

Food sorted for the day anyway.
Lunch, more stale bread toast, with grilled cheese topping
Dinner, LO cold roast pork, with pot of mash & salad bits
I'll make some coleslaw later with the cheapo white cabbage & wonky carrots LO from last week
