    Good morning everyone,
    Dreadful news from Turkey/Syria.
Damp and grey here today, feels chillier than it actually is.
Voluntary admin this morning and then plan to prep a pie filling for tomorrow - mustardy sausage, leek and apple and make a curry for tonight.
HM pea and bacon soup for lunch. Yoghurt chicken curry with rice and naan for dinner.

Beautiful sunny day so far, went into Morrison's first thing posting my letter and decided to have a mooch round, bought a bag of wonky spuds plus wonky carrots, which having chosen them myself are better looking than some, not all, I've had delivered by Asda in the past
And a nice firm white cabbage, 65P, that's coleslaw sorted for a while

Because it is such a lovely day I took my camera along and continued onto the local churchyard, mainly for the snow drops, very photogenic blue sky and sunshine with the old graves & lichens

Back home, lunchtime was the ex Christmas defrosted mackerel pate on toast
Dinner, still clearing freezer, so it's RM MFO sweet & sour chicken

W8rose delivery first thing tomorrow morning, so I'll be back to full fridge again

  • I was craving coleslaw earlier Farway. I find white cabbage too difficult to grate with my wrists, though.

I went to buy a few bits like white vinegar and floor cloths earlier. I got in quite a few steps and it is quite nice and mild and sunny out. My husband just said it is meant to get very cold tonight, however.

The guy who cleans our windows was meant to come today as they are very dirty after having the work done to the roof. He said he was in our area when I texted him this morning, but he didn't turn up so I hope I hear from him.

I had a raspberry yoghurt and some pistachio nuts and then I felt hungry so I had a late lunch of a veggie stir fry with soya pieces, sugar snap peas, carrots, baby corn and lots of garlic powder and oil.

look out for a mandoline i have had a very basic one for years something similar to this, i do have a food processor but it's not worth setting up and cleaning for a small portion of coleslaw, i tend to buy red cabbage not white and it works ok with that

They always make me cringe if I see someone using them on a cooking show. I think I would lose my fingers. :D

  • Another lovely sunny day here, did have to scrape the car, though, and it’s very much cooling down this evening. A fairly productive office day and home in the light (just!)

Portion of nana’s magic soup and a cheese-topped bread roll for lunch (was yummy) and a quick chorizo, broccoli and fennel seed pasta tonight.

Tired this evening so will just do a bit of life admin and watch easy telly (except Only Connect, which is not easy at all 😂)

Wednesday they come with a guard to protect your fingers, although I have lost mine  :#

There was a mild frost here as well this morning, the advantage of WFH is no scraping the car  :)

gammon salad for lunch with a vegetable slaw.  A half portion of LO chicken tray for dinner as I wasn't that hungry so there is still a half portion left

    Good morning everyone,
I'm nervous of mandolins after the guard slipped while I was using one and made a nasty mess of three fingers. They do do a good job though.
Had a very disturbed night, fell asleep no problem but kept waking up.
Sis and nephew coming for dinner. I'm making a pie for us tonight - sausage, leek and apple in a mustardy sauce topped with puff pastry. Served with carrots and savoy cabbage. The filling is from this JO recipe Sausage & mash pie | Jamie Oliver recipes but I CBA making mash!
    HM soup again for lunch.
  • Yikes Caronc. This is what scares me!

I think I might make coleslaw today but with grated carrot, onion and courgette instead of the cabbage. I'm not sure what to have with it.

I was very lazy and grabbed a sarnie from Coop this morning. We got our windows and gutters cleaned again this morning. It was freezing and very foggy when I went out, but it has disappeared now and it is sunny.
