Thanks for the link Caronc the decision was made when Lakeland sent me vouchers today, one for 20% off if I spent more than £30 and the other free postage so it's on it's way 😁 the waffle maker will be rehomed as I won't use it and it only cost me the £1 for raffle tickets
After a quiet start to the work week we finished at 6pm after a manic day thank god it's Friday 🙂 after work I went to Waitrose and spent more than planned 🙄 there were a few YS on F&V but I decided I didn't need any of the large amount of fish or meat which only had a very small amount reduced, freezers are full
lunch was the last of my soup with some cheese and crackers. Dinner when I got back from the SM was salmon, potato wedges and veg. The salmon was Y S but from my freezer, it has now got really expensive so I only pick it up if I see it reducedLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Sorry to hear people are under the weather, hopefully restful weekends will help.
Really good, productive wfh day here, and the heating was only on as programmed in the morning and evening. Bit too windy and threatening rain to put washing out so didn’t put any through, 🤞 for tomorrow as there is bedding and towels…
LO couscous and courgettes with feta and walnuts and some of the rocket for lunch. Made a smoked salmon, broccoli and gnocchi creation tonight. There was also 🍷, been a long week 😉0 -
Very mild this morning, dull sky though, at least the heating is not on full blast nowMay do a spot of garden pottering later, nothing strenuous but sun is trying to peek out & it would be nice to take advantage of itYesterday's curry was in the OK category, a bit watery TBH, but at least I now know for next time. Two portions LO for another dayNext on list is finalise my Asda online shop for mid-week, has to be in tomorrow to keep my regular slot. This time I'll pay with my Nationwide debit card with offer of 5% cashback from NW so that equals a couple of quid off at leastI've taken the last of the smoked haddock fillets out to defrost for dinner, letting the LO curry mature in the fridge a bitLunch, back to stale bread toast with grilled cheese toppingDinner, "poach" the smoked haddock in the microwave, with nuked LO mash & frozen posh mixed Marks' veggies and maybe cheese sauce if I rememberEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Good morning everyone,
Sounds as though it was meant to be Brambling.
Hard to say what the weather will do today, the forecast isn't promising.
I'm less unsteady today though will be avoiding bendy stuff.
DS2 is working so nothing much planned.
Ended up cooking a chicken & roast veg traybake last night , seems to be a regular Friday thing at the moment, so LOs for lunch. Junk tea tonight - Spicy prawn Po'boy type sandwiches using up a pack of breaded prawns bought before Christmas with onion rings, corn, coleslaw and no doubt a few oven chips.0 -
Hello all.
I cannot believe it is past 1 already. I didn't have much to do this weekend but I am just doing nothing today. All I have done is have a bath, get dressed and read through forums and blogs! Lol. I took ages going back through my online Tesco order to add things I had forgotten and trying to reduce the costs a bit.
I have had a cup of coffee with a bowl of blueberries so far. I am going to have soup and a toasted ciabatta roll for lunch. I'm just going to make a quick soup with the last of the carrots, red lentils, a can of coconut milk and rice.0 -
Grey but dry day here but not cold
I had to pop out this morning and on the way back came pass the farm shop, I forgot peppers and onions last night and Waitrose had no tomatoes. I did add Jerusalem artichokes to the shop and a couple of their vension sausages and some lamb mince, I do like their lamb mince but they rarely have it when I go in. The youngster on the till did the usual and put my artichoke through as turmeric and when I corrected her changed to globe artichokes, just as well as I noticed as they were £6! 🤨 I usually keep a eye on the till as they always put them through as turmeric 🙄 if that worked out cheaper I would turn a blind eye 😁
I did go in to town after lunch but only to drop off some clothes at the charity shop where I picked up some books 🤫
lunch was LO salmon from last night with watercress salad (FS bunches are better than SM bags, nice and hot) with a boil egg as there was only a small bit of salmon. Dinner was the sausages with mash and vegetablesLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Gosh, I’m late tonight!
Pottering sort of a day. Grey and drizzly on and off but very mild. Unfortunately the drizzle meant that the load of washing ended up on the airer instead of out on the line. Did a small grocery shop and nipped to a retail park to run a couple of errands.
Posh fishfingers in pitta for lunch. Tonight was tapas/mezze sort of thing - used up the smoked salmon and some of the olives and feta plus a couple of other little bits I picked up today with an M&S demi baguette 😋0 -
Sunny day ahead, a bit hazy right now but on a sunny promise for later, so I'll get out and do a bit in the garden and some of my daffs are out at long lastMade an overnight loaf in the Panny for today, and it's out & cooling in time for lunchDefrosted a pack of smoked salmon trimmings that were for Christmas but never used, I'll use some plus cream cheese in a nice fresh bread sarnie for lunchDinner, the LO beef curry and RM Naan breadEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Weather doesn't seem to know what it wants to do, we had some sleet first thing but it's dryish now though not for long by the look of the sky. DS2 has headed out for a long walk with Hector, hopefully they'll not get soaked.
Roast lamb leg tonight, part of a large leg I boned, portioned and rolled last year. We'll have it with sprouts roasted potatoes, carrots and parsnips and gravy. The joint is big enough to have leftovers for a shepherd's pie during the week.

It is gorgeous weather where I am. Really warm, sunny and Spring-like. I just popped to Coop and finally got a Coop card while I was there. There are lots of people out walking.
I am still trying to eat healthier so I had some mango chunks that I defrosted in the fridge last night and then the leftovers of the soup I made. I feel extremely full as the rice in the soup must have expanded!
I am going to play fetch with my dog in the garden to enjoy the sunshine.:)2025 GOALS
