    Good morning everyone,
    Hope tum behaves today Brambling.
Getting windy here but dryish, it's to be wild tomorrow so will make sure we have plenty of logs indoors.
Have both Hector & Ari here today - there's never a dull moment when they are together!!
Sis and nephew here for dinner, I'm cooking Jamie's one pan sausage pasta. Did anyone see his show last night? I've still to catch up with it.
    LOs for lunch.
  • Really wintry here today - grey, damp and blustery. Luckily wfh so stayed in the dry.

Had the last of the hoisin chicken traybake with noodles and sugar snap peas for lunch. Early tea of beans with toast before swimming tonight.

I’ve watched about half of the JO £1 meals programme, a few good ideas as usual but quite a lot of using the microwave (which I don’t have)…

We seemed to have missed the worst of the threatened weather Farway although we did have the same grey, damp day as JKS with some really heavy showers

Back to work today with a couple of hundred emails waiting  :# at least it will be a short week.  I spent my lunch time looking for a piece of paper with a address on, that's the trouble with tidying for visitors 🙄 I found it being used as a bookmark in a JO recipe book. I did managed to clear out some paperwork and have a pile to shred

lunch was a tomato and mozzarella salad as both needed eating. Dinner was chicken with rice and vegetables

I had to go find the JO program after Caronc mentioned it, one to catch up on tomorrow

    Good morning everyone,
Tipping it down, blowing a hooley, barely light and much colder here today. My balance isn't liking the stormy weather so I'm moving cautiously this morning. Interesting article in Guardian and decent advice for most https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyl ... rove-yours
The JO sausage pasta went down a treat with my sis & nephew, she was surprised how well not cooking the pasta separately worked and is now thinking of buying the book. Enough LO for DS2 to have for lunch and I'll have the LO salad with some chicken LO from Monday.
Easy one for dinner tonight steak & haggis pies from the butcher, beans and HM wedges or baked spuds.

Dry start at least, rain due later on.
It was Asda delivery day in the dry, two unavailable items, diced steak & tin of sliced carrots, the reported egg problem seems to have resolved itself overnight, they arrived as expected
Steak I can believe, but sliced carrots? All very odd. I only added the tin of carrots as a come in handy should Putin drop a bomb on Portsmouth, I use fresh, or freshly wrinkled anyway :D so not a problem at all

The choc covered, and usually OOS biscuits arrived at last, now I can see why OOS so often, they are Penguin knock offs
All now stowed away, including the Essentials Christmas pud, ho ho ho

Lunch, back to cheese & chutney toastie I think
Dinner, due to non-delivery of diced steak [I have some frozen] the half planned beef stew etc has vanished, and it's now LO toad in the hole, maybe with a tin of beans or some more frozen veggies. The toad turned out as useless as my previous efforts, looks & tastes OK but has sunken soggy bits, can I blame my oven yet?

What you cooking it in Farway? I find toad needs a metal roasting tin to minimise soggy bits rather than Pyrex or ceramic, ideally one that can be popped on a hot hob ring for a few minutes while you add the batter. That said my sis and DS1 would fight you for any soggy bits, apparently they are the best bit!
  • I had toast for breakfast. Pasta with peas in tomato basil sauce for lunch and then just had some sourdough with carrot sticks and houmous for dinner.

I have been feeling cold all day. I'm sitting on my sofa under my fleece blanket.

Thanks for the link Caronc, my balance was never that good so I did spend time whilst the kettle was boiling standing on one leg 🙂 maybe time to look for another tai chi class

Wednesday I have said today felt like it suddenly remembered it was November, heating not on yet but it was cold when I got out of bed this morning and whilst sitting at the table working this afternoon, my dining room is a cold spot

lunch was a portion of pea and ham soup from the freezer.  Dinner LO chicken, rice and vegetables

  • I think it’s the weather today, Wednesday, making you feel cold. Really grey, miserable, wet and windy here all afternoon.

My offsite meeting went on a bit this morning and then there was a road closure that put me on a massive diversion on my way home 🙄…so, lunch was a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich from a co-op I passed, eaten in the car. Swimming tonight so reheated portion of the lamb, chickpea and spinach curry with a flatbread when I got home 😋

    Good morning everyone,
Tai Chi sounds like a good option Brambling if you feel things aren't what they should be balance wise.
The storm has passed thank goodness but much colder this morning. At least that's easier to deal with than battering wind and rain. I've lost a small pane from my greenhouse. It's a polycarbonate one so no doubt lying in a garden somewhere so may make its way back to me! If not easy enough to replace.
Up and organised early (for me today), DS2 was away at 5.30am so Hector came in with me. He snugged down fine until 7.30 when decided to throw up. Just salvia and it's something he's prone to. The vet says it's common and nothing to worry about. After that it was all systems go! Need to get space cleared in my freezer as I might be getting my Christmas turkey this weekend.
Apart from that I've not much planned, there's lots of things I could be tackling but probably won't.
Pies last night were delicious, though I misremembered and they were steak and black pudding not haggis. Shame the butcher is so far away!
Fridge gravel for lunch. Easy one for dinner Chicken chasni, the sauce is from a batch DS2 made a while ago so just the chicken to prep and cook.
