No rain today but definitely a bit nippier when I got up and when I came home tonight just after 10.30pm there was a light frost on the windscreen

Work wise we had all reached the it's Friday stage  :# and at one stage it took three of us to understand a email from our offshore developers, sometimes they can't be understood on a Friday 🙄 TBH they don't always make sense any day of the week

lunch was griddled asparagus with soft boiled eggs, I've realised I had too many eggs in the fridge so they will appear again this week unless I bake.  It's my sister's birthday today (my second sister with a birthday in five days  :)) so we had a family dinner at hers roast lamb followed by key lime pie and birthday cake 😋  baby was on good form and it was grandma's floor covered in food today, I did suggest a old shower curtain maybe useful  :) my sister put the heating on for the baby so my house now feels cold, the frost probably had something to do with that as well

  • Late one for me tonight, just back from the theatre 😀

Cold but bright, sunny day - I got a load of washing part dried on the line. My one meeting today got cancelled so ended up with 1.5 hour back which threw me a bit. Anyway, cleared away a few niggly tasks before what is looking like a very busy short week next week…

Posh fishfingers in toasted pitta for lunch. Made a sausage, new potato and cherry tomato traybake creation tonight, served with broccoli. There’s LO sausage and tomatoes plus juice to have for lunch with crusty bread tomorrow 😋

Definitely getting colder in the mornings now, heating had come on by the time I was up, more rain as well, it hammered down earlier

Picked the last of my outdoor tomatoes yesterday, I was deliberately hanging on until November just for bragging rights B). And blight has just arrived as well, so it was a reasonable tomato year after all

Lunch, I may venture into BLT sarnie now I had fresh delivery, or maybe Brunch with the bacon + eggs & LO mushrooms? [also a glut here Brambling ]
Dinner, very likely nuke LO beef stew & dumpling, suits the dull day at least

  • We were going to go out to the beach today but now my weather app is saying it will rain until after 4 and the sun is supposed to set at half 4 so I think that is out of the question!

We watched a film last night and we got a Chinese takeaway. I had salt and pepper tofu, veggies in garlic sauce and some of my husband's vegan chicken pieces and also his chips with curry sauce. Spring rolls too.

I am not that hungry today (unsurprisingly) so I just had some mango chunks and a cup of green tea for breakfast.

    Good afternoon everyone,
We are all off to my sister's tonight to celebrate my nephew's birthday. It will be the usual chaos and fingers crossed it's enough to distract two pooches and a cat from the fireworks.
My awol greenhouse pane has turned up undamaged.
    LOs for lunch.

I hope the animals were ok Caronc luckily his lordship isn't bothered by fireworks but he didn't appreciate me locking him in early.  I imagine it was very wet up on the rugby pitch for the local display

Too wet and grey to do much today, i went with my sister and nephew to a small craft fair in the next town, a friend of his was organising it.  I talked my sister into spending money on the grandbaby but kept my wallet in my bag  :)

Another family dinner but in town tonight as family friends couldn't make it last night so we went to a local Italian 😋 the baby was given a small piece of chocolate sauce by the look on her face and the mess around her face it was probably the start of something bad  :# We was told not to expect it again anytime soon 😁 they were very short staff just one inexperienced waiter and the manager, luckily we weren't in any rush

  • Another late one from me. Been out to a fireworks display and then out for pub supper - scampi and chips 😋

Grey and damp most of the day - I have pottered, did a small food shop, had my eyebrows waxed. Lunch was LO sausage and cherry tomatoes from last night’s traybake with some chargrilled peppers thrown in as I reheated, served with fresh crusty bread nomnom.

Another wet morning, rained all yesterday as well, but I heard plenty of bangs & whooshes in the evening, so I assume it didn't dampen everyone

    Lunch is BLT sarnie
Dinner, use ups, cold, or maybe slightly warm it up in AF, LO cheese & O flan, with nuked LO mash and fresh salad bits

  • Rain here too.

We watched another film and started a new (to us) TV show last night. My dog barked a bit at the fireworks so I put the fleecy throw over her head and she fell asleep. The fireworks were nowhere near as loud and annoying as where I used to live, thankfully.

I had toast with the very last scrapings of marg. I am going to make veggie soup today and just throw everything in.

    Good morning everyone,
A great, though rather late and boozy, evening was had. Despite being scared of a plethora of random things Hector wasn't bothered by the fireworks. :)
Chaos here to tackle today, we ended up running behind ourselves after DS2 managed to set fire to a tea towel while griddling aubergines for salad and then my trusty electric chopper died while I was preparing butter bean dip. We got to my sister's on time intending to clear up when we got home not expecting that it would be in the early hours.
Apart from chores I'm not planning much for today.
Roast chicken legs, veg, spuds and gravy for dinner.
