I do find M&S does nice large cauliflower Farway
unfortunately the baby has gone back into hospital via ambulance in the early hours where she was put on a ventilator again and has since been moved to Oxford as Southampton PICU had no available bed for her. It's a couple of hours to Oxford for my nephew and his girlfriend and no family support there. They aren't sure yet if a repeat of her previous virus or scar tissue from her last ventilation, poor little mite has only been home a couple of weeks
Not a great deal of cooking done today, I grabbed some cheese and fruit after speaking to my sister lunchtime therefore the last of the soup was finished dinnertime

Oh no, poor thing back in hospital. That must be so worrying.0

Woke earlier than normal and couldn't get back to sleep, so up earlier than usual. Which meant I spotted a pair of foxes mucking about & prowling round my garden, and sampling the food on next door's bird table by perching on the wall & reaching over. I know they can become pests but so far I don't mind seeing them, like squirrels, all part of urban wildlifeOh poor baby Brambling, and Oxford is not as easy to get to with eternal traffic and darker evenings, very worrying times for allBesides foxes, I woke to the smell of fresh bread, I had thought ahead and put a timed overnight loaf in the Panny, it's out and cooling for lunchtime sarnie at the momentLunch food, with my fresh loaf it's cheese + salady sarnieDinner is all Mark's stuff, thinking about roasting / baking the chicken quarters, I'll cook all three while oven is on, eat one and use others laterBecause oven will be on I'm going all out roast dinner, roast spuds in the oven, the huge cauli & savoy I'll steam as required, I may bung some frozen green beans in the steamer at the same timeI can see HM chicken & mushroom soup on the horizon this week with my chicken quarters & YS mushrooms, there's a SC soup recipe I may try out

Good morning everyone,
Oh no Brambling poor wee mite and her poor parents.
The JO bacon and bean one pasta was very good. I had no fresh sage so subbed a tablespoon of HM pesto which worked very well, definitely a keeper.
Grey and very windy here today, it certainly doesn't feel like the 15C it's supposed to be.
Domestics, finalise my Tesco order and then back to the admin. There is light at the end of tunnel- a faint glimmer but that will do!
HM soup for lunch and an easy CBA Thursday meal tonight of refried beans from the freezer in wraps with avocado etc.0 -
Worrying times, Brambling - hope there is an improvement soon.
Manic office day and a late finish but out of office is on and that’s me done until Tuesday 🙃
Last portion of spicy parsnip soup from the freezer with a toasted pitta for lunch. Tea was the second half of a harissa potato and tomato stew (also from the freezer) with some prawns. The stew was much better than freshly cooked, and worked really well with the prawns instead of the recipe of chargrilled tuna steak.
No CFOing for me for a few days so I’ll wish you all a happy weekend 🍸1 -
Have a good weekend JKS
The baby had a bad night and they had to change ventilators this morning which seems to be helping more, they say she will probably be on it longer than last time as it has hit her harder. My DN and GF have been given a room at the Ronald McDonald house near the hospital but mum has been sleeping next to her. If it's like last time and she settles my nephew will drive home every couple of days as it helps with his MH and stress levels but with the protesters on the M25 causing issues which effect the surrounding routes I'm not sure if he will be able to at the risk of not getting back easily.Lunch was a freezer raid and a portion of vegetable and peanut butter stew with LO green beans. Dinner was sticky turkey stirfry using some YS turkey strips with stir fry veg and coconut rice. There is a portion leftLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Dull but dry so far, nothing planned thoughLunch, cheese & pickle sarnie I thinkDinner, I'll try again for the roast chicken, I roasted the chicken quarters yesterday for dinner but by the time veg prep came round I just didn't fancy it, so dinner today, all being well, is steamed cauli, cabbage, roast spuds with LO chicken quarterEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Toast with PB for breakfast and some blueberries. I think I will have veg sausages with mash or air fried spuds and veg later.
I have a fayre to go to tomorrow and then a quiz in the evening so I will be eating out for dinner.

Good morning everyone,
I do hope the wee one is improving today Brambling,
Wild and mild here today.
Tesco due in the next hour, then it's a bit of cleaning before, yep, I head back to the voluntary admin! Have thankfully now got all the data input done "just" need to balance the darn things!
Sis popping round later so I can stuff and re-tie a piece of pork for her. After trying to explain to her how to do it, we decided it was probably easier if she just left me to it.
Fridge bits for lunch and usual Friday freezer rake for dinner.0 -
The baby is holding her own or as her nurse said she's no better but she's no worst either. It was a nice quiet work day so the to do list was ticked off
I popped to Lidl lunchtime as I only needed a few fresh bits and refused to pay 27p a banana in T express
Lunch was quick cheese, crackers and tomatoes when I got back. LO sticky turkey and stirfry vegetables for dinner, although tbh not so sticky or as nice as yesterday once microwaved. Somethings don't do so well as LOs 🤔Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
