Dull day out, very gloomy looking, which suits my mood because my foot is playing up again making walking painful, and this morning a tooth filling broke up, painless but unwanted. I have a check-up booked for next month anyway so will get it sorted then I expectOne more thing for today is getting the covid booster booked, I have the reminder but just no yet done anything about itGlad the funeral went as well as could be hoped, Brambling. I know went I went to my brother's funeral last year, a lot of very old looking people turned upMeals today will be YS mince based, and probably be a HM beef burgerpartly due to my foot and mobility, but mainly lazy & CBA today

Good morning everyone,
Glad the funeral went well Brambling
Dry and sunny here but not that warm, it's supposed to dip to 6C when it get darks so I can see the stove being lit later.
DS2 and Hector are off to see DS1 & DIL-to-be this evening. I'm going to make the most of being home alone by having an undisturbed hoover and mop through which is challenging to say the least when Hector is about as he is terrified of the hoover and adores the mop, never minding all the footprints on the newly washed floor. It would see the days of an evening myself meant feet up and a glass of red!!
The JO sausage and mash pie was lovely but made a lot so lots of LOs, consequently dinner will be a rinse and repeat of yesterday or I might have some for lunch and see what I fancy later.0 -
A bit of a blah day for me,
6 hours in the car yesterday and too much sitting down meant a bad night and a painful hip today.
My work laptop gave up the ghost and the office spare one meant a trip into the office today as it wouldn't let be logon form home. I spent the day trying to set it up and it's so slow. This afternoon IT finally called me back to say my laptop is 3 years old and out of warranty so they wouldn't look at itI need a new one. Very vague instructions on line for ordering a new one 😡 and the warning that it could be 6-8 weeks, not sure what would have happened if we didn't have a spare laptop (although very slow) I may have had to twiddle my thumbs for two months 🙄
No time to sort lunch today so a trip to Waitrose lunchtime where I refused to pay what they wanted for sandwiches, Higgidy cheese and pickle 'sausage' rolls which were YS and just to be really healthy a donut for afters. It was after 6 when I left the office so I was glad I had grabbed a HM RM from the freezer which turned out to be a tomato and vegetable pasta sauce so just needed pasta

Bright & sunny, but chilly and maybe frost tonight, so they say anyway, cant see there being one here just yet, but you never knowFeeling a bit brighter today, foot's eased a bit which gave me a good sleep, today's task is start on the Income tax return, it's all sorted in MS Money I just need to enter it up to post maybe next week, deadline is end of OctoberI've got someone coming some time to rehang a door which no longer shuts, goodness knows why doors which work for years suddenly don't but there you go, that's life. I wouldn't normally bother, but it keeps the cold lobby separate from the warmer lounge and with this winter's energy prices a large gap around a door not something to ignoreMeals today, cold LO roast pork & salady sarnie for lunchDinner, despite a cooler day it's salad, with another nuked "baked" AF spud and cold roast porkAlso busy completing my online Asda order, a bit of a struggle because no sooner do I add something it goes OOS so have to juggle again, having to make up the cost for free pick & pack this time with thick bleach, I'm fully stocked on loo rollsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Bright but chilly here today, there was a touch of air frost first thing!
Two bags of logs have just arrived, with what is already in the store that should keep us going for a few months. I'm going to set the stove ready to light as it's supposed to be chillier than last night tonight.
Tesco due in a bit and then I plan to start taking down some of the tomato plants in the greenhouse. They are getting past their best and it will save having to ask my neighbour to water them when we are away.
Long weekend here as it's the "Ayr Gold Cup" so a big weekend for the races. It does mean lots of folk had Monday off anyway.
Salady bit for lunch and usual freezer rake for dinner.0 -
Back to CFO today (had a visitor overnight last night).
Very long weekend here as I am off today 😊. Have swum, had a pedicure, done some washing and generally pottered around.
Lunch was smashed avocado and tomatoes on toast. Bacon and courgette pesto pasta tonight (carried over from yesterday).
Masterchef before bed 😉0 -
It's been a busy week I was just glad when 5pm came around
I could have done with a gentler week back after two weeks off
I didn't need a enough for a shopping delivery this week so popped to Waitrose after 6 (when you don't have to faff with parking tickets) A bit early for decent YS offers but I did pick up some layered crab £1 rather than £4.50and used both my weekly vouchers, I had to ask for help on how to use them on the self service till.
lunch was egg on toast. Dinner the layered crab with saladLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Bright but cold out, the sort of day you'd start out wrapped up but chucking clothes off if out walking in the sunFinished off my Asda online shop, due next Wednesday, and already I've realised I've left bread rolls off, not sure I CBA to amend with the problems that then arise with OOS items not being allowed back onLunch is last of the cold roast pork, in a sarnieDinner, should be salad really, because I have loads of it, but if the weather keeps cool maybe quick HM LO stew & dumpling out of the freezer?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Chilly 3C at 9am today, it's overcast so taking time to warm up. The stove was lit last night, Hector was most bemused, as even with socks and a cardi it felt chilly.
DS2 is off to help a mate dig up his garden/fill a skip. His mate bought a new build and although it had a decent sized garden much of it was unusable due to being on a slope. They couldn't afford to get landscapers in to dig it out so it's been a real project but will be worth it in the end. I'm pooch sitting as Hector would just get in the way.
I've not much planned though will make a batch of Spanish meatballs to take away with us next weekend. We are making tapas on the Friday night with everyone bringing along various dishes.
Lunch is tbc. Dinner will be chicken wings with baked spuds, salad, corn cobette and onion rings.0 -
Started chilly here but lovely and bright, sun was really warm by the afternoon.
Pottered around this morning before heading off to have my hair cut (had brunch of scrambled eggs, bagel and tomato). Did grocery shopping, collected a shelving unit for the shed and spent birthday vouchers on garden bits whilst I was out. I then ran out of enthusiasm once home 😂
Easy dinner of reheated LO bacon and courgette pesto pasta.
Still got 2 days of my long weekend so will try to finish some of the many things I have started tomorrow…0
