    Good morning everyone,
Dry and trying to be sunny here this morning, yesterday was just dreich all day. I contemplated lighting the stove in the evening, not because it was cold just damp and miserable.
Hector is pretty much back to normal, he's at the Vets tomorrow for his routine check so will get the once over then but he's definitely a much happier pup.
I don't have gout but my hands are quite arthritic and "peel here" labels are a nightmare so I don't even attempt them now.
LO turkey with salad for lunch and tonight I'm cooking the yoghurt chicken recipe from this article Chetna Makan’s four easy curry recipes | Food | The Guardian
  • Phew, have given up and come to bed. Absolutely exhausted after a day of staff meetings in the office, shock to the system after a week working completely remotely!

Was organised yesterday and made lunches for my 3 office days this week. So, portion of roast courgette couscous with feta and walnuts eaten at my desk. Did manage a short walk to the postbox in between showers.

Made tenderstem broccoli and anchovy pasta tonight (LOs for tomorrow 😉)

Looking forward to my wfh day tomorrow!

After two weeks off work today was longgggg I was glad to finish just after 5pm. We were reminded that the new senior manager does not approve any holiday carry over so I had to fit in 9 days on top of what I had already booked off for the rest of the year, there will be a couple of in lieu days for Saturday work to add as well

lunch was another bacon sandwich, I forgot to separate the last lot of FS bacon before freezing 🙄 dinner was cod florentine with wilted spinach, new potatoes, green beans

Rain this morning, just wet drizzle type, forecast is rain off & on through the day so could influence my dinner choice

Brambling How awful having to squeeze holidays in, but I know what you mean when they could've been taken in the summer had you realised, we were never allowed to carry over holidays, it was always use them or lose them

Lunch today, cold roast pork sarnie, with apple sauce I think
Dinner, leaning towards cold pork + salad. I think I have a suitable sized baking spud in my last delivery, if so then I'll try the nuke & bake it method but will have to look up timings because I normally just bung baked spuds in the gas oven, but given energy costs maybe a couple of hours at gas 6 is not a good idea for one spud

    Good morning everyone,
Shame you can't carry any holidays over Brambling, we were allowed to carry 10 forward plus any time in lieu.
Farway I usually nuke spuds for 5-7 minutes until softish then bake in AF or oven for 20 mins or so at 180C.
Much cooler here this morning, it's dry but very overcast.
Off to my sister's for dinner tonight, we'll bring her pooch back with us as both her and my nephew are out all day tomorrow.
The yoghurt chicken curry was delicious and took no time to prep, definitely a keeper. LOs for lunch.

I’m doing short weeks all of September to use up leave. We can carry over 5 but I need a break every few days at the moment 🙄

Another busy day but lots achieved and nearly finished on time too 😂

Got a load of washing done and mostly dried on the line. Also had a walk after work to pick up milk and fresh fruit.

Lunch was LO broccoli and anchovy pasta (reheated really well). Just had beans with toast for early pre-swimming tea.

Will be chilling out with Bake Off later, ready for another day at the madhouse 😉

When we were busy earlier in the year we were ask not to take holiday and the two colleagues with children claim priority during school holidays 🙄 our old manager was really flexible with carry over especially if we were busy so he did benefit

My work laptop is playing up and decided at 4.30pm to tell me the battery was only at 10% even though it had been plugged in all day I tried two chargers and then it dropped to 6% so a late trip into the office for my docking station and a old spare laptop.  It's not quiet dead but I think the docking station isn't working either and there now isn't enough charge to bring up the logon screen  :'(   I'm off tomorrow as it's my BILs funeral in Dorset,  the laptop not important for now it can wait until Thursday before I break the news that I think I need a new one

Lunch was a small quesadilla using up the last two small wraps.  Dinner was all from the freezer, a portion of goat casserole and dumplings with root veg mash and braised red cabbage and cranberries

    Good morning everyone,
Bright but chilly here today, a definite shift in the temperatures I think.
Under ten days until we head for our family long weekend, I'm in charge of food planning and need to get myself organised. Where we are going is quite rural so while we will shop locally where we can we need to make sure the basics are covered especially as Hector is still a bit too wee to take out to eat. I think it will a chaotic weekend with two pooches in tow but hopefully good fun.
LO chicken curry for lunch and tonight I'm making this from JO 7 ways Sausage & mash pie | Jamie Oliver recipes

A wet morning, not too nice for your Dorset visit, I suspect Brambling

Caron, I did the baked spud much as your method and timing, skin rubbed in olive oil & salt first. It turned out well, not quite like one baked in the gas oven but passable, repeatable and tasty in its own way

Into town in the rain & Marks YS mooching first thing, bought YS mince, and YS well in date but clear-out Vegan hazelnut choc bars 100g [50p from £2], didn't buy and had to tear myself away YS fresh cream doughnuts

Meals today will be YS mince based
I also have a bread pudding in soak which can go in the oven once I finish tippy tapping on here

Lunch, HM YS mince beef burger
Dinner, ditto burger with fried eggs, mushrooms & HM AF chips

Unfortunately it rained until Southampton Farway but it was a sunny day in Dorset. A sad day but a lovely  service, I haven't seem some of my siblings in a few years so was a little shocked at how a couple of them have aged, i of course look the same 😬

we drove my old car down and it took a while for me to remember gears and clutch, I stalled about 3 times within a couple of miles of home  :# I'm sure when I drive my automatic next I'll be back to trying to press the clutch and change gears
