  • Impressive, Brambling - I’m afraid my parcels were from sainsbugs 🤫

The gout sounds very uncomfortable, Farway, hope the side effects wear off and the tablets start to,work.

Nice, relaxed day here. Did a mountain of ironing while watching James Martin this morning. Also got a towel load washed and dried on the line, and did a stock up shop at Lidl.

New Fishermen’s Friends film at the cinema this afternoon 😀

Lunch was avocado and scrambled eggs on toasted bagel. Made sausage and tomato gnocchi tonight (which would have been better if I’d remembered to put the basil in 🙄), served with sugar snap peas.

You should try the AF scones Farway, they definitely worked for me 🙂 TBH I wouldn't have made them if I had to turn the oven on just for them so my diet would have benefited

I didn't sleep well last night and was up early so dropped a birthday card thought a friends' door before breakfast and then had to take his lordship for his annual jabs.  It's a new for us vet as ours suddenly closed in June.  He was fat shamed but at 4.5kg which is the same weight he's been for 3 years and I was told a healthy weight I'm ignoring.  He doesn't eat human food but did come home. Hoover up his breakfast and demanding more 🙄 but I'm still in the dog house

My sister drove me to pick up my car and I only tried to use the clutch pedal about five times on the way back into town  :# funny enough I didn't try to change gears. It's my first time driving a automatic car, I think I'm going to have to go somewhere quiet for my first hill start 😁

My nephew started lunch whilst we were out so we came back to roast chicken with all the trimming followed by blackberry and apple crumble 😋 and a afternoon of pass the baby around. I didn't need dinner so had a pear with a drink at 9pm

Sunny but cool, good news is the gout in my hand is easing, just slightly swollen & pink in pace of a fiery red balloon :)
Bad news is I think it's slipped down to my right hoof now, not painful or throbbing but can't really stand on it, so I'm hobbling about in my socks today

Food is still not a problem, not only am I not hungry, I found some OOD tins while rummaging yesterday, Lidl spaghetti & Tesco tinned sausages & beans

I made & ate pasta yesterday, mainly because it was simple, and I'd found OOD pasta sauce from lockdown days, so using that up as well.

I tried to amend my Asda order but had to give up because more items were showing as OOS, and they, or subs, are needed more than the quiches I was trying to add. I'll try again before Wednesday delivery day and see how it goes

    Good  afternoon everyone,
    Hope the gout eases Farway
I can imagine an automatic will take a wee while to get used to Brambling
Hope you enjoyed the film JKS, I'm a big FF fan.  :)
My we've had some amount of rain though it has eased now. It dried up yesterday evening so DS2 took Hector for a walk they were about 10 minutes away when the heavens emptied and both were completely drenched. Hector was dripping water like an unwrung floor mop. P
Another day of pottering on the cards, roasted a tray of tomatoes last night so need to get those prepped for the freezer. I've a turkey carcass defrosted to make stock and small gammon to pop in the slow cooker for dinner.
Salad sandwich for lunch. Dinner will be gammon & pineapple, new potatoes and various steamed veg.

Ouch re the gout Farway you're definitely not selling the tablets to me 😬

I took the car out this morning, I don't usually drive for driving sake but wanted to practice when the roads were quieter.  After lunch I went to M & S with my sister to use my Sparks card vouchers.  We had to spend £40 between us for the £10 off voucher and I had some others which gave us another £2.50 off so we had £12.50 off (£7 for me  :) ) and with a £15 gifted M & S voucher my £22.53 of shopping cost me 53p today 😁 No YS on anything for me as there was nothing I needed today and TBH they weren't that great. I still have some other vouchers but not for anything we needed today for example £1 off £5 box of biscuits.  We got back to my sister's just as my nephew took chocolate chip cookies out of the oven so had to sample one each before his friends came round 😋

lunch was a tuna Mayo and salad wrap.  Dinner spaghetti bolognese with some broccoli

Huge thunderstorms last night, woke me up, lightning flashes every few seconds it seems. According to news this morning, I don't think I was alone in this downpour. At least that's the watering with gout resolved for a few days

My gout has increased in the right foot so much, so I can't safely put any weight on it to go downstairs, so I'm living the high life upstairs :'(, where the loo is. A friend has helped me get some essentials upstairs, like biscuits & water. My gouty hand has gone down, so I'm hoping the same happens with the foot

Food today is water & digestive biscuits, and friend may bring along some cold snacks later and may have bowl of muesli if I fancy it, but I'm not starving and few days less food will be good for my waist at least

    Good morning everyone,
Oh no Farway poor you, glad a friend has been able to help you. Hope it improves quickly.
It turned into a lovely day yesterday though poured again overnight. Dry and sunny again this morning. Instead of pottering in the kitchen I made the most of the sunshine and enjoyed the garden. Did make turkey stock overnight in the slow cooker though so have that to sort out today. It was a massive meaty carcass so might get another batch out of it.
Stripped my bed earlier so enjoying a cuppa while it washes.
Have some domestic bits and bobs to tackle but apart from those no plans. I've woke up with very painful joints this morning, not sure why.
Lots of (planned) LO gammon so will have some of that for lunch. DS2 is cooking tonight - Dal, rice and naan.

You shared the thunder with us Farway it woke me up at 1am when it was overhead, I got up to shut the window as it was raining so hard and took ages getting back to sleep.  Sorry the gout is flaring, hopefully it will settle down soon

it's been a dry day after the downpour overnight  :) I did some admin this morning and after lunch my sister and I drove out to look at greenhouses again at a large garden centre on the coast, it also meant I could give the car a good run.  The one I saw today was on sale and this covers the staging etc, the money off will pay for the installation  :) I came back to re means the base and will call then tomorrow and order it.  It's only a 6ft x 4ft and a good size for just me.  It will take a couple of months.  We share a Eccles cake 😋 in their cafe.  I haven't had one for ages it was very nice and full of currants, I use to make them about 20 years ago

I picked up some cat litter in Waitrose for a elderly friend this evening after 7.30pm and also picked up YS two packs of posh sausages and some A Angus mince £3 for all three rather than £11.30 I've popped it in my freezer but will give it to my nephew as things are very tight for them at the moment with the baby and his OH on Mat leave.  I also paid 6p for celery, they had a trolley full of it, but that's for me  :) as was the 45p sourdough loaf 😁 I only took the three packs of YS meat items and left plenty for others I just happen to catch them putting the YS prices down again

lunch was scrambled egg and smoked salmon trimming on a bagel. Dinner LO spaghetti bolognese

    Good morning everyone,
Hope the gout has eased a bit Farway.
Thundery showers here. Tonight we are heading to my sister's for dinner. It's Hector's first visit to her flat, we'll do a meet and greet in the garden first so I'm hoping it's not raining. We think him and Ari are getting on well enough now to let Hector invade Ari's turf but goodness knows what their cat will make of a pup and vice versa!
    LO gammon for lunch.

More thunder last night, which I assume came your way as well, Brambling.

Food at the moment is bought in by friend cold sausage rolls and a tuna + Mayo sarnie, it's enough TBH because I'm not starving and ideal snack food at the moment

M gouty foot has eased, but not enough for me to dare try the stairs, so I'm still upstairs with the loo

I have my Asa delivery due tomorrow so hoping I can get downstairs for that, I'll play safe & ask friend to be around at the same time, only needs door opening really as driver will unpack if asked

Already had email from Asda about out of stock items, think I'll wait & see what subs turn up, probably the old favourite washing up liquid sub for dishwasher rinse aid. Apart from it being dearer, I can't see why the pickers never swap cheapo for Finish RA.
