Sounds like you need a restful weekend JKS  :) you could cook the spinach and freeze it if you have too much to use

I hope the pup is ok Caronc

No chance of a empty nest for a few years Farway 🙂

a few early rain showers followed by a greyish day for us.  I have appointments in town tomorrow so decided no need to go down today, quick trip to Lidl lunchtime for milk, salad and fruit there were a lot of empty shelves today with the exception of the middle aisle. I was glad I didn't need much

lunch was a small portion of dirty rice and peas from the freezer.  I found a SO Waitrose rump steak whilst rummaging so dinner was steak, chips, mushrooms, onions and LO green beans

Looks a bit chilly out, bright enough, but just looks colder than it has been. My right leg is still on the mend with a swollen foot. I can't get a slipper on yet, so not going anywhere for the moment, no pain though

Lunch, nuked LO tuna & broccoli pasta
Dinner another HM burger, maybe with HM AF chips made from LO boiled baby spuds today as I fancy a change

    Good morning everyone,
Hope you get a chance to relax today JKS
Hector was seen by the vet yesterday and he seems to have picked up a virus. He was injected with an anti inflammatory/steroid med and one to bring his temperature down along with probiotics to mix with his food for a few days. He's much better this morning though still far from fully recovered. Hopefully a few quiet days and he'll be fully recovered. I'm looking after him today as it is ex-OH and his sister's 60th and there's a family do this afternoon. Hector was supposed to be going too but we decided it was for the best if he stayed at home. DS2. DS1 and DIL-to-be have just headed off laden with homemade curries and various other edibles. It's dry and sunny so we'll potter in the garden while they're away.
Salad for lunch and dinner is tbc.

Poor Hector  :o hopefully he's bounced back now

Farway my brother tells me he has a pair of slippers 3 sizes too big for his gout days 😬

I walked into town today and met my sister for a quick lunch in Waterstones cafe before my hair cut. My exciting day was completed by a eye test 😁 on the plus side no money spent there  :) it seems nhs changes mean I'm back to one free test every two years again as they have changed the criteria if you have close family members with glaucoma from yearly.  After a trip into £land I think they are going to have to rename it as a lot of stuff more than a £1 now

lunch was a Moroccan salad bowl. Dinner was a freezer rummage and a lamb donar from the FS with LO new potatoes chipped in the AF, coleslaw and salad.  Not something I'll buy again as too salty.

  • Nice day out at a local village event today (watched a bit of the new king ceremonial stuff before I went).

Lunch was a black bean burger from a vegan food truck. Steak with lemon and feta spinach and beans tonight 😋

Don’t have much planned for tomorrow 😴

Sunny morning, looks like a nice day for a stroll if able to. I shan't be strolling, but at least my slippers fit again :) , a small but significant improvement

A minor miracle, I actually managed to peel back a label with a "Peel Here" corner, amazing stuff, very handy because I was looking for the cooking instructions regarding timing / oven temp of the small pork joint for today's dinner

Lunch will be the very last HM burger
Dinner, roast pork and I don't know what, just don't fancy a roast dinner so could be a basic hot pork sarnie? O=r maybe with mash & frozen peas? Time will tell

    Good morning everyone,
Hector's got his "wag" back. :) Yesterday afternoon he slept really soundly for two hours and when he woke up he was clearly feeling better. He's still not completely 100% but definitely has his bounce back. :)
DS1 & DIL-to-be stayed over last night but have just headed home, IDS2 has nipped to the SM and 'm enjoying a quiet cuppa before tackling some chores.
BLT for lunch I think and I've defrosted a boned and rolled turkey leg to roast later. Roasties and gravy have been requested.

Farway I don't have gout in my hands and I have problems opening 'peel here' I attacked my steak packet with the scissors trying to get in 🙄

I'm glad the wee one is on the mend Caronc  :)

I popped around to a elderly friends house this morning to sort out some things for her and we put the world to rights over a cuppa afterwards

late lunch was a tomato and mozzarella salad.  I wasn't that hungry tonight so have just had a bowl of cereal at 9pm.  Dinner can wait until tomorrow

  • A nice, relaxing day here - only left the house for a quick swim. Bit of voluntary admin, bit of washing, bit of tidying and some food prep is all I’ve done really.

I froze the rest of the spinach, thanks Brambling 😊

Lunch was scrambled eggs and avocado on toasted bagel. Chorizo, sweet potato and spinach hash with soft boiled egg tonight 😋

Sunny day ahead, and now my hands, legs & feet are working nearly normally I'll change the bedding today to celebrate, would've done this anyway but so much quicker when all parts are working

I'm also going to stew the non keeper apples I have left, get that task out of the way while I can hold a knife and lift a heavy pot, just in case the gout comes back PDQ

I know, awful, isn't it? The new packs with a recyclable inner, allegedly, are just useless, supposed to be an inner envelope somewhere which separates from the bloody bit, I finish up stabbing and then just bin the lot except the meat

Happy to hear the wag has returned Caron, one thing with dogs, they are honest if feeling poorly

Meals for the day, lunch snap on BLT sarnie
Dinner, use up the MFO macaroni cheese meal, posh one subbed for cheapo. Odd thing is the posh ones Use By dates are much shorter than the cheapo ones, goodness knows what horror lurks within the cheap ones :o
