    Good morning everyone,
I will report back on the JO book once I've received it.  :)
Farway, that's biggest one I've ever had! The plant was grown from the last seed in a very OOD pack but has thrived better than any of the previous years' ones.
Pooches are snoozing in the sunshine so peace for the time being anyway lol!
Tesco order has been finalised (I think) which was my only "must do" today. It's lovely and sunny so I think the garden and my book will beckon for this afternoon.
Fridge rake for lunch as I've used up all the LOs though a FF sarnie sounds tempting! Chinese takeaway style chicken & veg curry with rice for dinner.

I think my get up and go has joined yours Farway so a lazy day for me, are you with Southern water? I'm wondering why I have had £25.03 deposited in my bank from them, I'm assuming a letter has been caught up in the post strike? Or is it more compensation.  I'm not complaining 😁

We will expect a book report from you Caronc  :D I caught him on The One Shop today which I don't usually watch, he made a sausage and pasta dish using fresh lasagna sheets similar to his mushroom dish.

Not a bad day here although we now have a heavy thunderstorm, typically we are forecasted a rainy week next week 🙄 I only went as far as the pet shop and the garage to get my car washed (probably why it's now raining) I've told his lordship that he's going to have to go cold Turkey on his drug of choice (Dreamies) as they have gone from 2 packs for £2 to £2.57, the larger packs were on offer so he's ok for now. Unfortunately he knows what I mean when I ask him if he wants a treat 😾

I made a batch of soup to use up some sad celery, it made four portions so two have gone in the freezer.  LO pasta sauce was used to top a jacket potato with a sprinkle of cheese and some salad for dinner

  • Thank goodness for a short week, Friday tomorrow already 🙃

Office day today, as ever didn’t go quite to plan but got the main stuff I needed to done. Nice, home working day to catch up tomorrow.

Lunch was the rest of the chickpea and pomegranate couscous with feta and salad. Prawn and sugar snap pea Thai green curry with noodles tonight.

In bed with hot honey and lemon now, trying to shift an annoying cough/sore throat 🙄

    Good morning everyone,
Hope you are feeling better today JKS.
Overcast but dry here, it's to turn to thundery rain overnight. There's a few bits I want to do outdoors today so once Tesco have been I'll crack on.
The new JO book arrived yesterday, just had a quick look through but impressed so far. I'll have a proper look over the weekend. I like that a lot of the recipes seem to be for one or two portions. It's set out in a similar way to 7 ways and there's a whole chapter of frying pan pasta which looks fab.
Salady bits for lunch and usual Friday tbc freezer rake for dinner.

Dull and spot of overnight rain, very much a huddle indoors day
JKS, hope the H & L worked, one of life's silver linings

My dratted gout has retuned, left paw, little finger joints, been awake half the night with it. But repeat bout of gout is one of the side effects of the anti gout pills, so I just have to be a brave little soldier for now. I wonder if that was why my get up & go had gone?

Another side effect is nausea, and I have that as well, off my food, but I expect I can find something to pick at during the day, I have a bar of very posh dark choc just for such an emergency

Apart from that, today's food is probably just bread & scrape what with my gouty claw and tum, I don't fancy making much effort today. I have a tin of soup and other easy prep stuff like a tin of mac cheese so will not starve

Completed my Asda order for next week, some items are OOS so may have to revisit before delivery

    Ah, thank you 😊

Haven’t done a test as only had the plague about 6 weeks ago…

Thanks everyone, slowly feeling better. Grey, drizzly, damp here when I woke up and for most of the day. Autumn very much in the air. Nice steady wfh day, no dramas and finished on time. Took it easy this evening and have a relaxing weekend planned.

Lunch was spinach and feta parcels, tomato and spring onion balsamic salad, avocado and pomegranate seeds. Treat Friday night tea of scampi, chips and peas.

Just having a honey and lemon while watching celebrity Masterchef. Already caught up on grand designs (first of new series) - a classic episode and you can’t beat lovely Kev 😉

Glad you're feeling better JKS - I have some filo pastry so may need to buy some spinach as I haven't made feta and spinach triangles for ages, I like to keep some raw in my freezer to pop into the AF

Sorry to hear the gout is back Farway I did see it was a side effect of the tablets which does seem wrong as they are to prevent gout in the long run

another lazy day for me  :) I'm changing my car tomorrow so was sorting out paper work and calling insurance company etc.  My sister is buying my old car so it needed a hoover and everything removed form it,I had been given my instructions. I'm buying a hybrid version of my current car, I have been advised that the automatic may help with my painful hip.

Lunch was a portion of soup with a cheese and salad wrap, this afternoon I realised you can cook scones in the air fryer which I'm not sure is something I should know for my waistline :# (7 mins at 180 🙂 ) I did CFO the ingredients but I'm afraid that was my unhealthy dinner, just with jam as I've no cream.  I made a bolognese sauce as the mince needed using but that could end up in the freezer as I've just received a invite for a roast tomorrow at my sister as my nephew and family are coming over.

Brambling, scones in the AF, sounds very tempting, especially as I opened a jar of super posh black cherry jam yesterday, it was the only thing I fancied in my weakened gout crazed state was bread & jam ;)
And a new car to whizz about in, I hope the auto version does help with your hip

Very dark here, looking like rain, but never sure. I could do with some because watering is out of the question with my hand right now

Meals today, more of whatever I fancy, I can't hold a fork to put pressure on, so it was soup yesterday, and beans on toast
I have nukeable MFO spoonable food, like curry, in the freezer so should be OK for a bit

    Good morning everyone,
Ouch re the gout Farway hope it eases.
Glad you are feeling better JKS.
    Happy new car Brambling.
Absolutely tipped it down overnight and still very wet this morning. We have a weather warning for heavy rain/thunder for the rest of the day. Can't see myself wandering further than the bin and I've some food prep I want to do for dinner and the freezer so I think an afternoon pottering in the kitchen is on the cards.
HM chilly cheesy pork burgers for dinner with salad and AF oven chips.
