  • I’ve popped that JO mushroom carbonara on my list, caronc 🙃, looking forward to seeing his other ideas.

It seems to be a long week and struggling to find much motivation for work, sure it will come back soon…

Lunch was the other half of the grain, tuna and roasted pepper salad. Swimming tonight so quick prawn and broccoli egg fried rice when I got home.

im also keen to try JO mushroom carbonara 🙂 although I don't usually buy fresh pasta these days

im not sure about the celebrities on this week masterchef it's a shame Gareth was last week not this

rainy start to the day and then it got quite hot, not complaining as it will soon be winter 🥶 I went out earlier and it was dark when I drove home at 8.30pm

lunch was a nice and easy fish finger sandwich. Dinner needed to be quick and I have too many eggs so made a mushroom, onion and spinach omelette

Heavy rain when I woke this morning, which I reckon is over you right now Brambling, I want the rain but no right now, I'm out with the grandchildren later to Winchester, forecast reckons clearing up by then so here's hoping

With me being out meals are taking what comes, lunch will be out so café somewhere I guess, and by the time I'm home it'll need to be a quick & easy dinner, I've plenty of salad so seems an obvious easy option right now

    Good morning everyone,
The Mushroom Carbonara is on next week's meal plan, for once I'll be scaling a recipe up lol!
Meeting with the out school club chairperson this morning to sort out some banking stuff, it shouldn't take long. I've rattled around having a quick tidy though with Hector it's a bit of a lost cause!
Trying to be sunny here and there's a bit of a day so fingers crossed for getting the laundry dry.
Fridge bits/LOs for lunch. Sausages with LO curry sauce, various veg and HM wedges for dinner.  I'll probably roast a tray of toms for the freezer as I'm getting a bit over run with them now, it's lovely to have the plants finally producing decent amounts.
  • Nice, productive day in the office 😀

Shed delivery tomorrow so emptied out the garden store it is replacing this evening. Has rained during the day so no watering needed but I’m hoping it stays dry overnight 🤞

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel with cucumber sticks for lunch. Made a yummy chorizo and courgette gnocchi tonight, perfect for CFO - I used one small courgette and one small garlic clove with an appropriate amount of chorizo and gnocchi for one.

I hope Winchester wasn't too wet Farway, I haven't been there in years .  We had a heavy thunderstorm over night, it went on for quite a long time so I've been a bit bleary eyed today

work was quiet, we even checked emails were working  :D just a couple of short TEAMs meetings. So time to clear down my email and finish writing up meeting notes and doing my actions from yesterday's meeting

lunch was HM scotch egg using farm shop pork and leek sausage with salad.  Dinner was mushroom stroganoff and noodles with some purple sprouting broccoli and spinach

    Good morning everyone,
Horrible, though not unexpected, announcement re fuel increases. I'm very fortunate that DS2 is here so I'm not shouldering all of the increases myself, I'm also lucky to have a fair bit of wiggle room in my budget. I dread to think how some folk manage and the reality is they won't without severe hardship and all the knock effects that will have to health etc. It's dire.
Weather suits my mood this morning.......
Tesco due soon, a couple of acceptable subs but otherwise okay. It's big shop this week, one of these weeks where several higher value items need replenishing.
I'll scrub the bathroom one the groceries are stashed and then see what the day brings.
SLT for lunch with LO sausages from last night. Probably breaded haddock, veg and a baked spud for dinner.

'morning all, I've still got my head in the sand re fuel prices so not hear the latest, like you Caron I just don't know how some will manage no matter how hard they try, being a child of the 40s & 50s with all that entailed I'm sure I'll cope but it would be nice not to

Yesterday in Winchester went well, rain stopped, no sun but dry at least, plus the grandchildren enjoyed it which was the main purpose, and there was a market on :) , so I came home with some very posh cheese from here

Jury is still out on the taste, but lunch today is going to be Ploughmans so will try both of course
Dinner, I have on offer Asda roast in bag small chicken, so that plus I may have veg tray roast, depends on how I feel later

DGS number one who passed his A-levels for uni has rocked off to Magaluf with his mates yesterday, leaving one unhappy GF behind, young love never runs smoothly >:) I  suppose he will have some memories from the weekend assuming he is not rotting in a prison cell already :D

  • Energy prices are terrifying, I will be able to absorb increased costs but the number of people who won’t be able to makes it a real crisis - I just hope the powers that be realise that soon…

Anyway, made it through the longest week ever - that’s the problem with having a week off, next normal week is painful 😂

Worked from home and got all caught up. Big excitement was the arrival of my shed, had a lovely time putting things in there after I finished work, think I have reached peak middle age 😜

Lunch was posh fishfingers in pitta with a bit of bagged salad. Made mushroom risotto tonight which used up the last garlic clove, the last few spring onions, loads of mushrooms and the end of the bag of salad. Served with the end of the pack of smoked salmon, the end of the baby sweetcorn and some peas. Good to tell it’s the end of the week and I’m away for the weekend!

Have a good bank holiday 🙃

The same here, I'm certainly glad that I've alway been 'careful' with money and squirrel away a healthy emergency fund, being made redundant 8 years ago meant I could become mortgage free early.  I know my sister is worried about my nephew who has a young baby and his OH is on mat leave.

My last day at work for a couple of weeks  :) I'm not going away just some pottering and visiting friends. It will be good to have a break from the chaos of work.  Just the two of us working today so not as quiet as I wanted for a clear the in-box day, I did manage to finish by 5 😁

lunch was a blue cheese, pear, chicory and walnut salad.  Dinner chicken and vegetable stir fry with rice
