    Good morning everyone,
Snap Brambling sweet and sour pork for us tonight though the JO version using tinned peaches.
Frosty start again and forecast to be another bright day. DS2 made the most of the good weather and sorted out and moved my multitude of garden pots ready to pressure wash the slabs and clear the area ready for my deck to be rebuilt and the current, problematic, kitchen drain to be replaced. It will be a good few weeks before any work starts, it will mainly be DS2's summer 2022 DIY project but good to begin to get things ready.
I've a pot of chicken, veg and rice soup simmering, it smells fab and will cover lunches for a good few days.
  • Bit Mondayish here…is it ever going to get warm?

Nice productive morning in the office and then suddenly my day had gone in a blur of meetings this afternoon. Grabbed a few minutes to have a mug of mushroom soup (bought but NCG - not as good as it used to be imho).

Nice easy reheat of gammon and roast potatoes tonight. Just had to prep and cook some green beans.

It looked lovely outside until you when out the it was bitterly cold, not that it bothered me from indoors working 🙂

The car had its MOT and service today, just the MOT to pay as I had a service plan, the insurance is due soon as well  :#  they came and picked it up for £10 which was cheaper than a taxi or the insurance the charge to borrow one, which would have sat outside all day (no public transport to the garage)

It was a quiet work day, we usually have loads of emails waiting on Monday morning and some expected work was delayed until Wednesday.

Lunch was LO roast beef and horseradish sandwich with some HM coleslaw and beetroot.  Dinner was LO sweet n sour pour I didn't fancy rice so wilted some spinach and cooked some broccoli to go with it

Another sunny start, but still chilly

Its Asda delivery day with just one sub, shower spray but the sub is not suitable so a first for me in rejecting a sub, I had hoped if it was subbed they would’ve upped it to branded one but I guess that cunning plan failed this time

Because the delivery is due around noon lunch is unknown, maybe just a jam sandwich? Otherwise I have some salad bits around so could get the healthier option

Dinners, very dependent on the dates on the delivered food, there’s sausages & mince in there so very likely one of them in some form, with HM chips and something else, eggs & beans maybe?

Brambling, I have my MOT collected & returned as well and for the same reason. Of course if I knew how long MOT would take I could time it and have a pub lunch just up the road but I suspect that would be the time it failed MOT and the spare part was a week away :(

    Good morning everyone,
Bright here just now but becoming very windy and to turn wet later. Ah well the sunshine was nice while it lasted.
DS1 has COVID :'( most likely picked up when he was out with DS2 on Saturday. DS2 negative so far <<fingers crossed>>. He's feeling rather rough but hopefully the worst of the symptoms will pass quite quickly.
HM chicken, veg & rice soup for lunch, though I say myself it's a particularly tasty batch.  :)
Trying this for dinner tonight Green orzotto | Tesco Real Food

I hope DS1 gets off lightly Caronc and DS2 escapes.  My nephew is still testing positive but has had no symptoms at all my sister is still testing negative. I'm avoiding their house 😁

Phone call this afternoon from the musculoskeletal team at the local hospital offering a appointment for Thursday re my back/hip issues the physio gave me the details to do a self referral appt last week and told me there would be a 16-20 weeks wait 🤷‍♀️  I'm not complaining 🙂

Lunch was the same as yesterday a roast beef and horseradish sandwich with a side of HM coleslaw. There was a little bit of beef left, not enough for a sandwich because I was generous yesterday and today in my sandwiches, maybe a roll tomorrow lunchtime I have some ciabatta rolls in the freezer or his lordship may get lucky.

Dinner was cod florentine (I've gone retro 😁) with broccoli, roast fennel and new potatoes

A mixed morning start, dull but mild so off to Marks for a mooch, except the car battery is flat, grrrr, I’ve been running the car weekly to prevent this but seems that’s not good enough

Not too fussed right now as it’s not a pressing matter, only had Asda delivery yesterday as it happens so no shortage of “stuff” and my neighbour has offered to pick up my prescription when she’s out at the Co-op today

The Asda delivery was missing a cucumber, must have fell out in the lorry I guess, no problem with a refund and I have some in anyway, it was more stocking up salad bits really

With the car failure I have put a packet loaf mix in the Panny, always knew it was good idea to have a few ready mix packs in just in case.

Depending on how that turns out it’s either PB baguette or fresh bread for lunch, filling To Be Decided

Dinner, very easy choice, yesterday’s fresh minced meat the plastic film was split even though well  in date, so I had a couple of burgers for dinner, and the rest will be base for savoury mince dinner tonight, may lob a couple of dumplings in to ensure plenty of stodge

Caron, shows the Covid is still around to bite, hope DS is not too bad with it, my DIL is over it but shattered, they sent her home from work on Monday despite going in feeling well enough initially, luckily the rest of the Covid ridden family recovered without any problems

    Good morning everyone,
DS1 is feeling pretty rough but hopefully the worst will pass soon. DS2 is thankfully still negative. It does seem to wipe some folk out, I hope your DIL get her oomph back soon Farway. Numbers have really jumped here again, unsurprising given all the relaxations I suppose.
LOs for lunch, I halved the orzotto recipe but it still made loads. I really liked it though DS2 was less enthused, mind you it didn't stop him wolfing a huge bowlful lol.
I'm trying a scaled down version of this traybake tonight Chicken and chorizo traybake recipe - BBC Food , I love a good oven bung in and it looks very tasty.

My town has seem to gone from low numbers at the height of lock down to being named and shamed at the moment for its high numbers   :s

Nice day here, a little nippy but warm enough to stand gossiping with my neighbour lunchtime without a coat 🙂

Caronc my nephew makes something similar to your chicken and chorizo but rather than beans the recipe has ciabatta bread (bite size pieces) add half way into the cooking time and olives. The bread surprised me but was  surprisingly good, soggy on bottom and crispy on top 😁 and soaked up the favours

lunch was the cheese scones made at the weekend from the freezer with a apple.  Dinner was vegetable risotto made with peas, broad beans, leeks and French beans and a salsa verde on top

  • Two long meetings today but I did find time to eat my packed lunch - half a pouch of Lidl ready to eat lentils with roasted sweet potato and feta. Some of the batch of vegetable chilli with a dollop of creme fraiche on a jacket spud tonight.

Love a traybake caronc, and love chorizo. Nigella’s Spanish chicken is a good one. I made this for my visitor and I last night, very yummy and moreish 😋
