    Good morning everyone,
No thankfully there were no more explosions Brambling  :).
I fibbed Farway, it's only 12 varieties plus a cucumber!! I've only planted a couple of seeds of each and some were pretty old but I'm hoping enough will come through to give a decent mix. I've not gone for any beefsteak ones this year, from three types last year which took up a huge chunk of the greenhouse I got minimal fruit so I've stuck to ones that usually give me a reasonable crop.
Pasta bake last night was apparently "amazing" , it was a layer of pasta mixed with cheese sauce, topped with a layer pasta mixed with ragu and finished with a layer of bechamel and a sprinkle of cheese. For huge dish there are only enough LOs to cover lunch for one of us today though my sister did take a tub with her for my nephew.
DS2 is cooking curry tonight so I'll be on washing up duty instead.

Today was very much like yesterday but with no dentist  :D  work still busy with a quick 5 min call taken 90 mins  :s  I was slightly sidetracked by his lordship deciding he was going to sleep on the plater I keep my fruit so curled up amongst it 🙄

Lunch was another portion of minestrone soup. Dinner mushroom omelette, AF chips and salad so nice and easy 🙂

  • Same s**t, different day Brambling? 😂

I can sometimes only tell the difference by whether I’m at home or in the office…

Home today but a few Teams meetings so not as much actual work done. Lunch was some of the LO chicken mixed with sweet corn and mayo in a pitta with some rocket.

Beans with toast for early tea before swimming. Cuppa and a piece of posh farm shop chocolate while I watched This is Going to Hurt when I got home, such a great adaptation and really makes you think 🤔

Looking very orangey out there this morning with the Saharan dust, I went to Mark’s early on with a bit of drizzle and now have a very dusty splattered car, all makes work for the car wash folk I guess with plenty of trade for them in the coming few days

Quite a good mark’s trip, salad stuff which I needed and got a Sparks card discount on that, YS large FR eggs and YS ready to roast Aberdeen Angus beef joint, I’ll probably cook it today and eat it tomorrow, there were YS parsnip as well so maybe another roast?

Lunch, was thinking of YS scrambled eggs, but change of plan, now LO cold roast pork sarnie

Dinner, SNAP Brambling, mushrooms in YS eggs omelette, AF chips and salad so nice and easy

My AF  needs a good wash having cooked yesterday bangers in it, being a lazy git I bought one that can go in the dishwasher so DW space booked for this evening

Caron, I managed five varieties of tom, but have just found another packet, orange ones. So that’s six varieties but like you only a few of each. A lot of mine are F1 full price nearly £4 a packet, but they were clearance 50p in a pick & mix tub at GC

Not growing cuc but may buy a plant if I see one, I’ve never really succeeded with them and space is scarce

    Good morning everyone,
"Burpless" cues are the only variety that have ever worked for me Farway so I stick to them. A couple of plants usually keeps me well supplied without being over run and are definitely worth the space. I only had one plant last year and it wasn't quite enough.
Cheese & ham toastie for lunch with some salad.
Tonight it's an easy one of roast chicken thighs, LO curry sauce, oven chips and various veg.
  • So much rain! Could have done with a canoe not a car today 😂

Had an offsite meeting and then needed to be in the office for meetings at either end of the afternoon. Lunch was the rest of the average NCG mushroom soup from the freezer and a sandwich to use up the rest of the chicken and sweet corn mayo.

Easy reheat of smoked mackerel risotto from the freezer tonight. Cooked some tenderstem broccoli to go with it.

Forecast for the rest of the week looks very much like spring is arriving…🤞

    Evening all

car was covered in dust/sand when I looked at it lunchtime, I don't think the rain was heavy enough to clean it so I'm hoping for a heavy rain over night 😁

My internet played up lunchtime today and into the afternoon, there was a man checking the cables today via a manhole we've had city fibre updating cables for faster broadband and when I went out and asked him if he was to blame he said no 🤔 I may have been slightly sarcastic when I suggested that it was just a coincidence then 🙄 especially as it was back to normal once he finished.

Lunch was another portion of minestrone soup and dinner LO spaghetti bolognese a nice and easy food day handy as I worked until 6.30pm

Spring has arrived, bright sun & blue skies promised for next few days, right over the weekend

It did tip down here Brambling so guessing you had the same, however it never cleared the sand away, lots of dusty yellow cars parked, and some of my windows are sand streaked as well

Caron, yep Burpless was the cuc I grew, like you I found it trouble free, very tempted now

Meals for the day, I have HM bread starting to accumulate and a bread pud is looking possible for the weekend; however lunch today toast topped with grilled cheese & piccalilli

Dinner, I have the Mark’s YS ready to roast Ab Angus beef joint so if I can get the timing right I’ll pop a tray roasted root veg in same oven, using some of the YS parsnips, steamed cauli & broccoli should be perfect fit

    Good morning everyone,
Frosty first thing, then it poured and now it's cold, sunny and very blowy! Only the usual sand being deposited here - the downside of living so close to the seafront!
I'm CFO until Sunday as DS2 has headed to do the final clear/clean of his place before the keys get handed back at the end of the month. Meals are firmly in the tbc camp but I've some sausages defrosting to have tonight might do a gnocchi bake with them will see what I fancy later. Ham sandwich or toastie for lunch with grapes I think. Tesco are due tomorrow so fresh options are fairly limited.

We had enough rain to get most of the sand off the car 🙂 however the house windows are still mucky

I was given one cucumber plant last year Mr F'gills Mini Munch (MSE didn't like the name !) and had so many cucumbers from it, it was the gift which kept on giving And nice size cucumbers 🙂

Not sure what was going on over the road late afternoon, there are a couple of brothers in their mid 20s who live there and music was being played really loud for a couple of hours I could hear it with the windows shut and the tv on, I could also hear their neighbour banging on the door and shouting to no effect. I may have taken longer than needed putting my bin out :) It is unusual it's their late granddad house and they've lived there 4 or 5 years. Being nosy via the bedroom window when it suddenly went quiet I think the other brother had come home, someone was getting a earful from the neighbours either side. No doubt I'll find out the gossip at the weekend 😁

lunch was a portion of soup. Dinner was diced salmon and vegetables on a bed of LO rice with a sauce made from the last of the crème fraiche, very tasty and I probably won't be able to duplicate it as it was a little bit of this and a little bit of that kind of dish  :)
