Some good YS bargains Farway, you are definitely hitting M&S at the right time 🙂

work was manic again today, we're still short staffed and will be again tomorrow  at least it makes the day go fast

I forgot a sister's birthday tomorrow 😬 so a quick trip to the garden centre around the corner lunchtime  as they have a good selection of cards and then down to the garage who have a small post office counter for a first class stamp and to post it. I hadn't realised how sunny and warm it was until I went out, I didn't want to come back in  :)

lunch was a cuppa tea and a lemon Bakewell from the garden centre.  Dinner was coronation chicken, jacket potato, coleslaw and salad.  I made chicken stock with the carcass plus one from the freezer

More sunshine and warm in it

Despite this I put a beef stew thing in the slow cooker earlier for dinner and it smells nice already, used the M & S YS diced beef from yesterday’s’ expedition

Nothing planned for today except enjoy the sunshine, although I may have a go at my on line Asda order for next week, and check the new W8rose offers, very strenuous day ahead

My plum blossom has opened with high hopes for this year with better weather at blossom time, it was cold & wet last year with very poor crop as a result

Lunch, a couple more of the YS fluffy crumpets with cheapo cheese topping

Dinner, as mentioned, SC beef stew thing, plus herby HM dumplings to be added later

    Good morning everyone,
    Excellent YS haul Farway :sunglasses:
There are some signs of tomato seedlings  :)
Sunny here and 14C already, domestics and admin beckon but I'll definitely be making time to enjoy the good weather for a bit this afternoon.
LO pasta for lunch and chicken, rice & pea traybake for dinner.
  • I could get used to these lovely bright days, just makes me feel so much better.

Out at a meeting this morning but home this afternoon. Shame the two tradesmen who were supposed turn up rescheduled…

Lunch was a fridge buffet - end of the bag of rocket, piece of quiche, slice of prosciutto, end of the couscous with some roasted peppers and some olives and manchego. Swam again tonight so jacket spud with cheese and beans when I got home 😋

Another manic day at work, the manager is back in tomorrow so should be a little easier 😐

His lordship got a scare this morning he got chased across the three front gardens by a large greyhound size lurcher, he went over the neighbours back garden gate whilst the dog bang himself against the gate. It brought me and the neighbour out and I had to catch the dog as the owner stood on the pavement watching and trying to call him, we have 30 foot open plan front gardens. I took my 11am meeting with a clingy cat on my knee and he retired upstairs to bed for the afternoon, which was a shame as he likes to sunbathe on next doors front lawn, which he was doing this morning. I did have polite words with the owner 😡

I made chicken soup from the stock I made yesterday and had a big bowl form lunch, very tasty. Dinner was pasta with tomato and vegetable sauce

I agree with JKS, could get used to these bright & sunny days with another one this morning

Must have been a fright for your cat Brambling, and the dog owner as well. As I don’t expect they were anticipating that. Years back when we had dogs one took off for some reason only she knew and romped across newly laid concrete with us & the concrete layer looking on aghast, fortunately he saw the funny side but it could have been a disaster for us

Finalised my next Asda delivery for next Tuesday, toyed with W8rose but there are bits I need from Asda just not available, or too expensive, at W8rose, and the personalised offers are not enough to tempt me this week

Food today is easy without much cooking required

Lunch, last of the YS posh fluffy crumpets + cheese topping

Dinner, LO YS cold roast turkey breast with salad & HM AF chips

    Good morning everyone,
Poor puss Brambling I'm not surprised he was a bit clingy afterwards. Lol re the concrete Farway, at least the layer saw the funny side!
Another lovely day here, long may this good spell last.
DS2 tested positive for COVID yesterday, I'm still negative but suspect it's a matter of when not if..... Thankfully he's feeling grotty rather very unwell so hopefully it's mild dose.
LOs for lunch and I've lovely Cumberland ring sausage defrosting for tonight. I'll see what DS2 fancies with it.
  • Slept late today (annoyingly on an office day) so that threw me out for the rest of the day 🙄

Not entirely sure where the day went but had a few nice catch ups with the team and cleared a few more of the never ending emails. Must have done other stuff too…

Outside of work, trying to organise tradesmen for various jobs at home, hard work at the moment so trying to remain patient.

Lunch was vegetable chilli and toasted pitta. Grilled salmon with broccoli and pesto pasta tonight.

Your family seem to time covid around occasions Caronc 🙂 Christmas, Mothering Sunday 😁 hopefully DS2 will only have a mild dose and he doesn't over share

I can lend you a alarm clock JKS, he doesn't eat much and is house trained 😁 The week is flying thanks to being short staff at work so it's been manic at work.

I made the most of Sainsbobs dropping petrol prices and a 7p a litre off voucher thanks to my nectar card and filled up the car, I only needed half a tank but didn't want to lose the voucher. They have put in new petrol pumps and I'm afraid to say I had to go in and ask how to use them  :s brain dead after a busy week 🙄

lunch was a portion of chicken soup 😋 I took out a portion of Chinese pork from the freezer and stirred fried some vegetables to go with it

    Good morning everyone,
Hope you get off to a better start today JKS.
Yes it does seem to be getting in the way of any celebration we plan so  far Christmas, my sister's birthday, DS2's birthday and now Mothering Sunday have all been impacted! I'm still negative but I'll be lucky if it stays that way!
LOs again for lunch and freezer rake probably breaded haddock for dinner.
