Farway I hope you are now feeling better
looks like you have avoided the lurgy Caronc
Another stupid day at work, god know what our developers are doing at the moment but they are fixing one issues and causing two more, luckily in the testing environment but it does mean we can't deploy updates this month 🙄 led to an interesting weekly call today
lunch was a repeat of yesterday cheese and salad pita with beetroot. I took out a UFO from the freezer for dinner which turned out to be the chicken tray bake (JKS) recipe where the sauce originally split, between freezing and microwaving the sauce 'unsplitted' I had LO veg from yesterday to go with it
now catching upon masterchef

Yes, hope the Lemsips and comfort food helped, Farway.
Must make that chicken traybake again soon, Brambling, I really enjoyed it - glad your sauce unsplit itself 🙃
No idea why I didn’t post last night. Offsite meeting yesterday morning but home for lunch so had the rest of the beetroot and goats cheese couscous with some raw baby spinach and watercress. Swimming last night so a reheat of the chorizo and chickpea stew out of the freezer with the end of the halloumi freshly fried on top.
I’m already behind with Masterchef…watched Tuesday’s episode last night while last night’s was recording…1 -
Good morning everyone,
I've last night's Masterchef to watch too, I'll catch up when DS2 returns so we aren't out of sync!
Hope you are feeling better Farway.
We had a few hours of very light snow flurries late afternoon/early evening but they didn't continue overnight. Very frosty this morning and still icy in the shade. I'll hold off a bit before venturing to the bin.
DS2 should be back this evening and I'm planning a "cheek to call itself Katsu" style curry using breaded chicken portions, various veg and Mayflower curry sauce. Far from authentic but I've made it many times and it tastes decent.
Wrap or toasted muffin for lunch with cheese, ham and pickle.0 -
Bitterly cold with a few snowflakes in the wind, and the sun pops out as well
However I never got up until tennish, slept on & on and it seems never missed much anyway.
Negative on the Covid test so assume its man flu but my poorly foot is easing a bit so not all bad
Still no real appetite or taste so just picking away at bits, banana, hot cross bun & a couple of fake Weetabix so far, a decision needs to be made tomorrow because I have smoked mackerel in and tomorrow is its BBE date, so its freeze or eat day

Glad your symptoms have eased Farway, DS2 felt more ill on the days when he was still testing negative than he did once it was confirmed as COVID.
It's turned properly wintry here, I think we've had every type of weather!
DS2 not going to be home until late so will eat en route and I'm CFO. Really CBA cooking much so I'm thinking a jazzed up tin of ravioli may well be dinner or a fridge gravel omelette. There's limited fresh options as Tesco are due tomorrow and I've just enough bread for my breakfast toast. No danger of me starving or wasting away though lol.....1 -
I've heard other people say they have felt ill whilst still testing negative 😬you obviously needed the sleep Farway, at least feeling ill is keeping you off your foot
Work was less manic today, delaying our next updates and telling our developers to sort themselves out has left us with some spare time to sort out to do lists
food wise was a easy raid the freezer daylunch was a portion of chicken soup with a PB crusty roll and dinner spaghetti bolognese with a side salad
i did cook some apple but avoided the crumble and just had Some custard

Bit of a four seasons in one day feel here too, caronc.Busy but productive office day, which is a nice feeling.
Vegetable chilli and toasted pitta for lunch. Made tart’s spaghetti (pasta puttanesca) tonight 😋, served with broccoli and sugar snaps.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Hope you are feeling better Farway.
Heavy frost this morning and still only 3C but lovely and sunny.
Tesco are due soon, just one (favourable) sub.
I ended up opening a tin of ravioli last night adding peas & spinach and topping with mozzarella. It was good and there's some LOs for lunch. Dinner is tbc, DS2 usually has a chippy but was relying on bought stuff while he was away so might fancy something home cooked.0 -
Back to sunshine and blue sky, still cold but no more snow, my poor old fruit blossom, still there but all bees must be frozen stiff by now
Feeling much better this morning, even my cuppa had a bit of taste to it, I still have sore throat and a cough and my foot is tender but I’m limping a lot better and feeling fine, or at least what now passes for “fine at my age”, so looks like I’m on the mend
I opened my “come in handy” tin of Smart Price sausages in beans for dinner last night, complete junk food but I enjoyed them, I’ll replenish on next shop. Makes me wonder because I only included them & the Cola in my delivery on a whim, never buy them ever, but just fancied them and both items then turned out to be just what I needed for my lurgi.
Today is peppered smoked mackerel on its use by day; I’ve made an overnight loaf in the Panny so all set
Lunch, smoked mackerel something or other in a sarnie, may try for pate as I have opened soft cheese
Dinner, more S mackerel, perhaps with salad or steamed broccoli etc? Not sure, cook or not? It’s wait & see come the time

Phew, what a day - should have known it was all going too well this week! Collapsed with a 🍸just before 6 😂
Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch. Made a yummy smoked salmon, cherry tomato and basil risotto tonight which also had the last chunk of goats cheese and the end of a bag of spinach chucked in, had some sugar snaps with it.
Looking forward to a relaxing weekend 🙃0
