  • Been an absolutely beautiful day here 🙃

Mostly pottered around, did a mountain of ironing, made a batch of soup, but did get out for a walk in the sunshine too.

Posh fishfinger sandwich for lunch. Did you find yours, Farway? Mine are only sainsbugs TTD not Waitrose…

Made a Mediterranean traybake with the chicken thighs, onion, courgette, peppers, tomatoes and balsamic tonight. Also made sort of parmentier potatoes. Was yummy and plenty of leftovers!

I'm glad you had a good evening Caronc  :)

it was a lovely day here as well, my sister and I walked to town for a bacon sandwich lunchtime and then to a one off art class on acrylic pouring this afternoon which was a joint Christmas present to each other as neither of us needed anything. It didn't matter that I can't draw / paint as it is fluid where the paint flows 🙂

Dinner was a pouch of mussels in white wine and AF chips

Back to normal today after yesterday’s outing, went to garden centre café for lunch with DS + family, but the café cook was ill and no hot food available, so I was forced to have a big chunk of chocolate fudge cake for lunch.

Dinner finished up cooking frozen Greggs sausage rolls as never found the posh Fish Fingers , the SRs are nice but more suited to family sized cooking than CFO and putting oven on for one or two of them is not worth it. They've gone now and will not to be repeated

The GC adjacent Farm Shop where I buy local FR meat etc. was open but very disappointingly the meat I looked at, sausages, chops etc. was very short dated, like BBE today, which although I’m not a stickler for dates buying expensive food with only twenty four hours on the clock that is not heavily discounted or YS is not how I shop, even Costcutter reduce stuff with less than 24 hours to go, came away empty handed from there.

Back to today, bright morning with possibility of sunshine. I have LO roast chicken portion out to defrost for dinner

    Lunch, BLT again

Dinner, the defrosted LO chicken, and depending how the weather turns out with salad + baby spuds or maybe roast dinner style with steamed fresh veg & Aunty B roasted

    Good morning everyone,
My it's been wild here, though maybe not as wild as was anticipated. It's still very gusty but is definitely dying down. One of my recycling bins has toppled but thankfully not spilled, I'll wait until the gusts ease before righting it.
Housework and admin on the "to do" today before I decide what to do with Saturday's leftovers for dinner tonight. I think it could be pie weather. I'll probably join you with a BLT for lunch Farway.

Very annoying re the  FS meat Farway  :/

It was wet and windy start today and a cold wind blowing though my bedroom window this morning, I really didn't want to get out of bed 🙂. It did turn out quite nice by mid morning, I'm not complaining as the SE have got away with a lot weather wise this weekend

Typical Monday work wise, there's always lots of emails as we are a international company so the ME work over the weekend and the Far East start early.  It makes the day go quickly 🙂 lunchtime I booked my car in for its service and MOT in March as they kept sending reminders, they will come and pick up which makes it so much easier, I'm on a service plan so hopefully only the MOT to pay for

Lunch was the last of the squash soup from the freezer with a sprinkle of feta cheese. I marinated some chicken in a tandoori marinade for dinner and made a vegetable rice to go with it, LOs for tomorrow or Wednesday. I cooked the chicken in the AF (on foil to protect it from the yoghurt in the marinade) and it turned out very well, it saved putting the oven on

  • Fairly certain it was a cold and bright day here but it was a manic office one so didn’t see much of it.

Nice, easy food today. Some of the batch of spiced carrot and lentil soup that I made yesterday, with a toasted pitta for lunch. Reheated chicken, roast veg and parmentier potatoes tonight. There was also a glass of wine left in the bottle…would have been rude not to drink it 😜

Back to dull & grey weather, I had sort of planned giving the car a blast down the motorway to keep battery charged & and then mooch around M & S, only a lettuce really required but that’s not urgent. I’ve kicked that plan down the road and will change the bedding instead, never ending excitement here

Last of the B in a BLT sarnie for lunch

A nice looking W8rose sirloin out defrosting for dinner, probably with HM AF chips & eggs and maybe open tin of beans?

Brambling I’ve also found myself using the AF instead of oven at times, even though my oven is gas so cost is not a big problem just seems wasteful sometimes, this weekend for example I had it on thirty minutes for a couple of sausage rolls. I’m now thinking that when my current AF dies, which it surely will sooner or later I will splurge on something like a Ninja thing, probably cheaper one though, I expect mine will turn into a Sinja with never ending stream of iffy burnt foods

    Good morning everyone,
Yes I mainly use my AF as an oven/grill rather than fryer definitely saves a bit on the fuel costs.
Back to stormy here this morning though mild and dry, very gusty though. My balance and tinnitus really don't like this changeable weather so I'm planning a quiet day. May well retreat back to bed for a bit after lunch.
Ham salad sandwich is planned for lunch and tonight I'm trying this Mexican-style veggie traybake recipe - BBC Food

I'm not a sausage roll fan but I would have probably AF them Farway I find it's very good for pastry items  :)

I hoped you managed to keep the donkey at bay Caronc 🙂

Busy but not manic day, at least it went really quick 😁

lunch was a portion of soup from the freezer, I think it was spicy carrot (colour was orange 🙂) I had with a couple of crackers with cheese.  Dinner was Some of the LO vegetable fried rice from yesterday with a pan fried piece of salmon topped with salsa verde

  • Busy but not manic would sum up my day too, lots done which is always a nice feeling. Home day so got a lunch time swim too.

Lunch was ham and mushrooms in creamy blue cheese sauce on toast, used up a few bits from the fridge. Out again tonight for Chinese food at a friend’s 😋
