  • Lovely and sunny here this morning, had clouded over by the time I did my walk into town after lunch 🙄

Bit of laundry and tidying up this morning then went for a swim before lunch. Couple of errands run in town plus a small sainsburys shop (and a quick trip to waitrose as sainsburys had no leeks…)

Lunch was scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel. Made a favourite tonight - sausage, leek and mushroom pasta, served with broccoli.

Very grey & dull this morning, a good day to do nothing except loll about and eat re heated leftovers

I have already done a spot of cooking FO, I fried an egg for breakfast but that will be all for the day

Lunch is LO HM celery soup, nuked

Dinner, LO spag bol, also nuked. The SB turned out tasty thanks to Dolmio who provided the sauce. I had two good portions LO and this dinner is one of them

Brambling, I thought I remembered it was you who altered the W8rose delivery just in time for the offers. That was what triggered me to check the dates. You did well on M & S YS, weather depending I hope to be in my one mid-week and fingers crossed for similar results

    Good morning everyone,
    Grey and chilly here today.
Cooked a tweaked version of Nigella's Chicken and peas traybake yesterday adding some baby spuds. Chicken and Pea Traybake | Nigella's Recipes | Nigella Lawson there's LOs which I'll have for lunch.
It's my sister's birthday today and her and my nephew are coming over this evening for dinner. Fondue has been requested something I've not made for a long time so hoping it works okay.

I hope you had a good birthday meal for your sister Caronc

I made a pot of turkey stock in the SC from a FS drumstick, this one was a good size and just fitted, tomorrow I'll skim off the fat and make soup.

i also tidied the kitchen freezer, for the most part the content list was correct, just more chicken breast than expected. I think there was some YS added before Christmas 🤔 S delivery has been checked and tweaked for Tuesday, there is something I wanted to add but couldn't remember what, I'm sure it wouldn't have been important, I'll probably remember when it arrives 🙄

Lunch was the same as yesterday some peri peri chicken with salad in a roll. Dinner was a small beef joint from the freezer with roast parsnip, J artichokes, cabbage and the last of my runner / French beans from the freezer.

Still grey & dull, it seems we are in this loop for week ahead now, at least it’s drying out at last

I think I could do with a spot of freezer tidying, I lost track of the contents sometime last year but I’ve decided to run it down a bit before I attempt anything drastic. This morning it was remove a salmon fillet for dinner, otherwise it would’ve been spag bol three days on the trot

Lunch, use up LO half tin of beans on use up toast, with a use up fried egg on top?

Dinner, the defrosted salmon fillet, steamed along with last of the bendy broccoli, crinkling carrots, curly celery heart and sprouting ex Christmas  baby potatoes. Sounds delightful but will give me a nearly empty salad drawer at last! I may add some frozen peas in there and plenty of butter

    Good morning everyone,
Dry and trying to be sunny this morning.
Fondue evening was a success and my sister was pleased with her pressies. Ended up being quite late for a "school night" so there's some residual clearing up to do this morning including tackling the pot! There's bits and pieces LO which will cover lunch.
Pork baked in a HM bbq sauce tonight with baked baby spuds and salad.

  • Another busy office day but actually got stuff done rather than just running round like the proverbial…feel much better - I don’t mind being busy but hate it when I feel like I haven’t achieved anything.

Easy food - lunch was butternut squash and sage soup from the freezer stash with a bread roll. Made ham, cheese and mushroom omelette tonight with HM potato wedges and baked beans 😋

Mine was very similar 🙂 and another rare day where my to do list was completed, it helped that there were no meetings which is a rare occurrence 🙂

lunch was a portion of squash soup from the freezer, I made turkey soup from the stock I made yesterday for the next few lunches and some for freezer, it made a very big bowl of soup 😋

Dinner was yesterday's LO roast beef and veg so just required fresh gravy and pinging

Yet another dull day, the weather guru said this area is stuck in anticyclonic gloom so looks like it’s like this for a few more days yet

I could be going mad or have poltergeist, yesterday I brought some of my own grown apples in to be ready for slicing on to breakfast Weetabix, and this morning they are nowhere to be seen. Initial thoughts were they’d rolled onto the floor or such like, but no, vanished forever it seems, unless they turn up in a drawer or something equally bizarre

E mail, my Asda now does Express delivery within four hours, £8.50 so can’t see me using it, however if one takes into consideration parking [it’s free at mine as it happens] or bus fares it could be a good deal, Last time I paid for the bus it was about £4 return and that was a few years back so not having to catch a bus, trudge round the shop and then lug it all back home £8.50 seems a bargain

    Meals today, bit boring repeats

Lunch, depending just how fresh / stale my Wonder loaf is it’s either cheese sarnie or grilled cheese on toast

Dinner, nuke the LO spag bol

    Good morning everyone,
£8.50 isn't too bad, I'd be £7+ in taxi fares just to pop to our local Morrisons. I wonder where you'll find the apples lol!
Grey and drizzling here this morning. I have some of my voluntary admin to tackle so that will keep me out of mischief.
Egg salad for lunch and broccoli & blue cheese risotto for dinner.
